State House Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda has urged the public to ignore all lists circulating about appointments as long as they are not on the State House press office headed paper and duly signed.

Mr Chanda said State House has only announced a partial cabinet, Parliamentary chief and deputy chief whips, nominated MPS some of whom are cabinet and provincial ministers, changes at the top of Zambia Revenue Authority including Mr Davis Mwila taking over from Davis Chama as party Secretary General.

“Note that all our statements are released within minutes of major news bulletins so if you don’t hear it on established media channels then it is just that a fertile imagination of someone. We are inundated with queries to confirm this or that appointment,” Mr Chanda said.

A number of fake lists of appointments have flooded social media in the last few days purportedly issued by State House detailing latest appointments in key government positions and foreign missions.

On the contrary, I believe these lists are being manufactured by PF cadres hoping the President takes notice and effects the appointments.

  2. Of all the appointments Chilfya Tayali is the most irritating. This boy does nothing but scam money from people. Please don’t appoint this boy to any position. He would be an embarrassment.

  3. Where’s the fun in that! Clearly the game is musical chairs. There are not enough seats to go round and the music just stopped. The flurry of elbow shoving and swiped seats is exhilarating!

  4. And if your newspaper is closed you complain? Circulation of such rumors is tantamount to forgery and you can be jailed for it.

  5. But where did that namelist cone from? Someone must have seen it within! You have just been given a big job of making amend nets! We can’t ignore that list! There is no smoke without fire. Who in their right frame of mind can waste their time making up such a list?

  6. Appointments should be made in a sober manner. Zambia is a country and not a department in some organization hence, let’s consider people of high caliber who will work first and other things to come later. Other wise, congratulations in advance to those who will be considered in any position. Today it’s you tomorrow it will be me.

  7. I have a list of Permanent Secretaries, High Commissioners, Ambassadors and for the remaining Caninet posts. I could not believe some of the names there. For example one had Dr. Kaseba as High Commissioner for Zambia in UK and UPND Vice president Canisius Banda as PS-Health. I mean really how do you appoint a party leader as PS. What was also surprising was the list had names for Deputy Permanent Secretaries. DPS are usually career civil servants, so why make this position political? Infact this post is actually defunct. The list appears authentic because it has been sugar coated with some old names and new names.
