Chama chiefs  hail President Lungu

TRADITIONAL rulers of Chama district in Muchinga province have
welcomed President Edgar Lungu`s agenda of developing the rural areas.

Speaking on behalf of other seven Senga chiefs, Senior Chief Kambombo
expressed happiness at the Patriotic Front (PF) policy of empowering
the rural communities with assets such as the tractor to add
value to projects.

He said when Chama District Commissioner Josphat Lombe
presented two tractors to the women cooperatives in the area  that all the
chiefs in the district have welcomed the programme which would uplift
the agricultural activities.

Chief Kambombo said President Lungu  was implementing various
developmental projects which were benefiting the local people.

Currently Government through the Ministry of Gender has purchased
tractors for chiefs Chikwa, Chibale, Tembwe, and Kambombo.

The project was aimed at boosting agriculture production in rural areas
and taking the chiefdoms as the pivot centre.

So far four chiefdoms out of seven chiefs in Chama have received the
tractors from the Government.

And Mr Lombe urged the beneficiaries to properly use the
machinery to alleviate poverty among the rural communities.

He said that the PF would continue to support the rural people with
assets that are aimed at improving their lives.
