City of Lusaka here to stay-Musole

City of Lusaka coach Davy Musole has declared that “Ya Moto” have gone back into the Super Division with the aim of competing.

City at the weekend ended a six-year wait to win promotion back into the Super Division.

Musole is cheered by City’s promotion.

“I am happy that City is back in the Super League where the team belong. I thank the players, the supporters and the executive for their efforts,” he said.

“The relationship between coaches and players plus the executive helped us,” Musole said.

City have suffered demotion from the Super Division twice in the last fifteen years.

“We are going in the Super League to compete. Our objective will be to maintain our status in the Super League,” Musole said.

City were league champions in 1964.

    • This is very Good this Club has Produced good Players in the Past,,, This Team is Usually financed by the Community Surrounding Woodlands Players, Mostly Business Men from Within Chilenje, Woodlands etc and Former Players who have the Passion for the Game,,,,, Watch-out for this Team Next Season I hope they get some experienced Players Blended with Young Stars

    • Is the gentleman still around? I remember he used to be called the king. Eish its been quite long. I remember other names like Lewis Shambulo, Eric Kulu, Peter Makembo (yes the pastor), Chibaso Nkhandu (the Zairean), Muyembe, Sakala, John Zulu, Kaitano, Frank Mutubila, Lewis Chilopa etc. Club Chairman them was Panji Kaunda. Don’t argue you were not there

  1. Problem with community based teams is that once it gets to Super D. every Jim and Jack wants to run the team. Too much interference from ignorant people.

  2. Yabeba City yamoto. This team made us not care for the supper league then when it was in division one. Last year when I checked the standings, the team was in the bottom 5. It’s like they hit the right button by hiring Davy Musole as coach. Congratulations on your promotion. Please maintain your black and white jerseys. Well done yamato.
