The Trade Kings Group, Zambia’s largest consumer goods manufacturer has scooped the prestigious President’s Life Time Award at this year’s 20th Annual Marketing Awards held in Livingstone at the Avani Victoria Falls Hotel on Friday night.
The company says the award reinforces the Zambia Institute of Marketing’s acknowledgement of Trade Kings’ role in setting the country’s marketing and advertising trends.
The President’s Life Time Award is the highest honour that can be bestowed upon an individual or organization in the field of marketing and advertising.
Although the President’s Life Time Award is the most definitive award of the night, Trade Kings through its subsidiary company, Bigtree Beverages, was also named winner in various other categories.
Apart from Trade Kings’ flagship product – Boom Bubble Plus Washing Powder – taking up the First Runner up spot for the Best Local Brand Campaign of the Year 2016 for its television campaign titled Mum Knows Best, Bigtree Beverages – a relatively new player on the beverage market – took the first runner up spot for the Most Creative Outdoor Advertisement Award of the Year (Large) for its Kung Fu Energy Drink billboards.
Once again a Bigtree Beverages product won the award for Most Creative Television Advertisement of the Year 2016 (Local) for Brothers Premium Malt.
Brothers Premium Malt’s “It’s My Day” TVC beat competition from its sister product Kung Fu Energy Drink – a TVC that featured well known comedians Bikiloni and Diffikoti starring with martial artist Damien Musuka.
According to Mr. James Songwe, Media Manager at Trade Kings Zambia, “Trade Kings recognizes that established avenues of communication can be reliable and safe. However, audiences are becoming increasingly fragmented and difficult to engage, inform and affect. Developing, applying and combining media with creative messaging and market awareness is challenging. Achieving this mixture is what makes earning The President’s Award a significant achievement.”
The Annual Marketing Awards which began in 1996 have evolved through a need to recognize and celebrate creativity, innovation and those pushing the bounds of creative excellence in all forms of marketing and advertising on existing and emerging media.The panel which nominates and selects The ZIM Award Winners, is comprised of media and marketing professionals.
