Sindowe slams underperforming Power Dynamos

Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) chairman Hanson Sindowe has challenged Power Dynamos to win more silverware next season.

Power have finished fourth in the FAZ Super Division with 61 points from 34 matches.

Speaking during the club’s end of year party and awards ceremony on Thursday night in Kitwe, Sindowe said it was unfortunate that Power only managed to win the Charity Shield.

The Zambian tycoon said Power should not make under performing a trend.

“We have once against closed the season with far less than the expected silverware. The only thing we have to show off for ourselves is the Charity Shield, he said.

“As your sponsors and number one supporter CEC was expecting a lot more from you this season but some how the top prize has once again eluded,” he said.

“The worst thing that can happen is when a big team begins to seem comfortable in simply hanging in the leagues top four.
This amounts to settling for average and must not be allowed to be a fashionable thing,” Sindowe added.

Power chairman Bobbline Cheembela pledged that the club will improve its performance next season.

“A fourth place finish is short of expectations from our fans and our sponsors. With this background we can only pledge to do better,” Cheembela.

Power last won the league title in 2011.
