Zambia: Under 20 2016 Cosafa Champions
Zambia coach Wedson Nyirenda has advised the victorious Cosafa Under-20 Cup players being targeted by scouts not to rush into signing any contracts.

Zambia returned home on saturdays with their 11th Cosafa U20 title after they blitz their way through this year’s championship whose highlight was a 2-1 win over hosts and archrival South africa on December 16 in Rustenburg.

“We advised each and every player not to jump into anything that comes their way because we have so many very clever people who can ruin their lives and think the boys have taken heed of our advice,” Nyirenda said and who was technical advisor at the tournament.

“If so an agent can come for Cosafa, then how many agents can come for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations? That is what we told the boys.”

Zambia will host the 2017 Under-20 AFCON from February 26 to March 12 at venues in Lusaka and Ndola.

“If they can be patient for the U20 AFCON, then they will have a better deal if they can get a better deal then.”

  1. Why not. They are probably 20 plus so why delay if chance knocks on the door step. This is the best time to be competitive and in our country football has really gone down.

    • Wedson has a point, U20 AFCON has a broader viewership(and wider pool of better scouts for better teams) than U20 COSAFA. So; patience pays baiche…

    • Bemba Man,
Under 20 national football team is not PF. I know your hatred for the PF but at least be patriotic and support the young boys. HH will never be president.
