Copperbelt Minister Bowman Lusambo says the appointment of Elias Kamanga as Copperbelt Permanent Secretary affirms President Lungu’s strong commitment to youth leadership development.

Mr Lusambo said President Lungu has now appointed more young people in key leadership positions than any other leader in the history of this country.

“I believe that by making these strategic appointments, President Lungu is planning for the development of this nation beyond his tenure of office. The leadership experience that young people like myself are obtaining is invaluable and sets the country on the right path towards sustainable development,” Mr Lusambo said.

He said he strongly believes that President Lungu’s legacy will be one that will be associated with appointments of young people into key national offices.

Mr Lusambo described the appointments of young people into leadership positions as selfless acts by President Lungu which deserve strong commendation.

“I am confident that all of us young people appointed to key leadership positions will repay President Lungu by excelling in our various positions. As Copperbelt Minister, I wish to add my voice to those congratulating Mr Kamanga but I also wish to assure the nation that this appointment is sound, timely and a gain for the Province. I say so because Mr Kamanga has demonstrated strong leadership skills having worked as Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Provincial Administration,” he said.

He said he is confident that Mr Kamanga and I will make a strong team together with all other civil servants in the Province to steer development on the Copperbelt.

“I wish to wholeheartedly congratulate Mr Kamanga on this appointment and offer my continued support to Mr Kamanga as he begins his new role. He is an able leader and I worked with him very well when he served as Deputy Permanent Secretary.”

Mr Lusambo also commended President Lungu for appointing Reverand Dr Howard Sikwela as Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Community Development.

“This is another perfect appointment as Reverand Sikwela has a big heart for the vulnerable in our society and I believe he will bring his strong and fatherly leadership to this very important Ministry. Reverand Sikwela is a capable Permanent Secretary with a keen eye to detail who helped me tremendously to settle in my new role as Copperbelt Minister. He was always on call and ready to offer advice, counsel and direction as I began my new role.”

  1. What about quality? it’s important to praise the appointing authority so that they keep you in that position. who can not do this in zambia

    • Sounds like Lusambo is happy that the respectable Reverand Sikwela has decided to chaotic copperbelt. Kamanga will be abused by that thug.

  2. Hon Lusambo, plse get on with your works. PF have own spokesperson. Do you want to continue being vuvuzela from MMD to PF now? Give us a break. Carry on the job provided plse.

  3. So even this MMD appeaser calls himself a youth…the very fact that the Lazy Bum is handpicking civil servants is the reason we are not going anywhere!!

  4. No style no quality, no qualifications, no class at all, at all. These are the type of the so called dignitaries who are mistaken for drivers in other countries. I don’t blame you Kasambo you are all birds of the same feathers.

  5. These are positions that are supposed to be held by Technocrats and not mere cadres with no idea what the civil service means. Lets get quality for a purpose please.

  6. Mr Lusambo you are supposed to advocate for an indigenous from the Copperbelt who will have the interest of the land and its people at heart. thats when you will see development there.

  7. Point of correction Mr lusambo, Rev sikwela was appointed by president Sata after he defected from UPND as MP for Livingstone, hecwas PS Local government, then Cppperbelt. For now he has only been transferred to MCDSS

  8. Kindly Ba Lusambo, give us a feedback on the floor bed situation after your midnight visit to Ndola Central Hospital and Authur Davison some time last year. I wonder what politics you were doing because most us your age mates from Kaunda era know that hospitals do not have beds. Your visit was not necessary because you knew the answer even before you joined politics or when you were at primary school.

  9. Its really sad to see pipo at this era being ignorant on national affairs, instead there busy praising themselves on how there going to enjoy our money as Zambians. There is no professionalism in our country pipo gets job through popularity n relationships. Zambians let’s wake up from our deep sleep 52yrs of independence is not a joke
