Zambia U20 beat Basel juniors in Spain

The Zambia Under-20 team has picked up it second win at their ongoing two-week training camp in Spain.

Beston Chambeshi’s side beat Swiss side Basel B team 1-0 in their penultimate friendly game on the Canary Islands on Thursday.

Mufulira Wanderers midfielder Crispin Sakulanda scored the game’s lone goal in the 33rd minute.

Zambia’s win comes two days after they beat Spanish division 2 side Tenerife’s junior team by the same margin.

Zambia will face Real Madrid’s junior team in the final friendly on Monday before heading back to Lusaka 24 hours later on February 7.

The Spain camp is part of Zambia’s preparations as hosts of the 2017 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations that will be held at venues in Lusaka and Ndola from February 26 to March 12.

  1. But how can you send the boys to Europe in winter and then back to Africa were it is hot this will surely affect them ?

    • @London I am not a football coach nor specialist, but I think the real training comes in team chemistry and physicals. I feel its a good call to expose the youngsters to as much possible for experience. I think it will amp them well for the forth coming tournament.
      Personally I think if you are good at the art of football you are blessed that way and weather shouldn’t play a factor after all they have home ground advantage.
      All I can say is let cheer them on and get results when the safely return home.

  2. It’s very nice for the youngsters and by the time the games starts the team will be in the normal conditions, climatising only takes three days for the body to adjust, keep it up new faz guys

  3. Comment:I like the exsposure the guys have been given ,this will let other clubs see them and make bids for our young stars.Hope even chipolopolo gets some exspoure
