Pay CAF, televise under 20 games on ZNBC or stop collecting levy-HH

Share

United Party for National Development (UPND) Hakainde Hichilema has charged that through taking advantage of the citizens, PF has failed to pay to the CAF for the live transmission of the under 20 games on ZNBC.

Mr Hichilema said the failure by the PF and its Leader, Mr Edgar Lungu is not only detrimental but also a day light robbery on Zambians who have been paying tax in form of TV levy every month.

“We demand on behalf the country that with immediate effect PF pays for the live transmission of the games because citizens have been compliant and if PF and ZNBC do not televise the games live, they must stop collecting TV levy as it is tantamount to theft,” Mr Hichilema said.

He said ZNBC is a public broadcaster and must not only be seen transmitting live political rallies that we understand up to date PF has not paid for when Zambians have been paying TV levy.

The UPND leaders said it is sad for PF leadership to continue globetrotting with a huge delegation around the world when part of the allowances they are spending could be spent paying CAF so that Citizens can enjoy the games.

He said ZNBC does not belong to PF but to Zambians and it must begin showing content that Zambians are pleased with and not PF political rhetoric.

“When collecting TV levy, ZNBC says when you pay it will show, we further demand that since Zambians have been paying let them pay CAF and televise the games live,” he said

Mr Hichilema pointed out that the failure by PF to pay CAF and televise the games puts our country on the international spotlight as certain bodies will not be taking us serious with such world activities of great importance.

He has meanwhile, congratulated the junior Chipolopolo boys for winning the first game and has wished them the best as they take on Mali today.

    • H H. The simple reason znbc is not live transmitting the games is meant to increase the gate takings from fans who are watching the game live. Imagine if the games are on znbc screens for free who will go to the stadiums and how much is going to be realised for both caf and Zambia. Don’t forget that Zambian govt has spent money just to host the event and you expect that money I come from where. Simple business strategy. That’s what it means when you stole money from privatization and start doing business without sweating for capital.

    • This is the uncritical unthinking I tell you. Kuti we muntu wa labwata bwata fye. Bushe abawina balitumpa abakulaposaika fye ulupiya? You must be unthink! That’s why you are unrich. Unthink is the loot-cause!

    • The ba.stard, HH has never helped any needy situation in Zambia. many people who are not as rich as he is are helping in various ways. The rich fool is behaving trully like his money is due to dark world laws.

I am not interested in being rich with money but with wisdom. that is the difference with you and me and HH and me. You may be rich but lacking wisdom. just consider how low HH thinks, he was told the government will help ZNBC to televise the matches and the unthinking HH wants to pull a quick to show that it due to his remarks that ZNBC had decided to do this. Even a 4 year old nows that this is under 5 politics and coming from a so-called party president, it leaves much to be desired.

Your HH and entire UPND leadership have lost it and do not know what else to do after your…

    • Don’t worry pf cadres i will pay deadNBC to televise the matches when i get my allowances from the Israel trip.

      Yours truly
Bread head the pretender to the throne.

  1. Well said HH, ZNBC says it will show when you pay and Zambians have being forced to pay by collecting without any option. Weather you watch ZNBC or not, you still pay. So what service are we paying for? Watching politicians lie to us. Please stop collection of money cause this is day robbery.

  2. Is it Lungu who failed to pay iwe Oval Head. Just show us by paying for us. Oh no you can’t since you’ve failed to pay for Mmembe.

    • This mangwamu! Ask ZNBC to pay and NOT Edgar Lungu olo PF, chikonko chizaku paya iwe. Mutinta akali active ka! Pali tuma boys twamingwala panja apa ka, tuzamudya!

  3. It is very clear that the levy is not and is never used to service customers. It is being used to service international trips were one has claimed his entire cabinet wanted to join him in this trip

  4. Does HH follow current affairs or LT are late in posting this. As of this morning ZNBC has resolved to broadcast the games. This is also a change in HH because I thought he was going to be asking Zambians to boycott the U20 afcon.
Lastly we are waiting for HH’s participation in Mwine Nshima or may be HH is afraid of another loss too soon.

  5. I totally agree you with you bwana HH,ZNBC should televise the CAF under 20 games to all who pay TV levies. However why can’t you for once leave ECL out of your mouth ?He barely mentions you yet you can’t seem to stop talking about him. You are a rich man,you might aswell pay CAF the broadcasting rights and maybe you might gain the much needed votes.Try to be strategic, every thing that happens should be used to gain the much needed mileage for you to whitewash them in 2021 but alas.Actions speak louder than words,as it stands Saviour Chishimba is offering proper checks and balances and the political landscape is slowly tilting in his favor.Imwe ba HH kuwayayafye.

  6. It makes no sense listening to Hakainde ‘ Humwine Hwanshima’ because even if something makes sense, he wants to tie it to Edgar Lungu. One one side he is advising Lingu not to go to Isreal so as to save money but on the other wants to pay billions to televise the games. HH should not try to emulate Sata coz he is simply not up to the standard

  7. Allupnd supporter must be ashamed about HH under five politics. The government has already arranged to televise. His inside informants have been beaten to the game. He wants it appear the government had televised because of him. How stupid!!

  8. You are late baba and you knew ZNBC was going to Televise but as usual you want mileage even on matuvi. Don’t you know that it might have been a request from CAF that ZNBC does not televise so that people can go to the stadia to watch matches. Now that people have cried and the govt has intervened into the FAZ/CAF arrangement you want to win praise. How naïve.

  9. You are late baba and you knew ZNBC was going to Televise but as usual you want mileage even on technical matters. Don’t you know that it might have been a request from CAF that ZNBC does not televise so that people can go to the stadia to watch matches. Now that people have cried and the govt has intervened into the FAZ/CAF arrangement you want to win praise. How naïve.

  10. This hh is an embarrassment to his party and family. I wonder how his supporters feel to be lead by an under 5 politician.

  11. This is the pressure needed from the opposition unfortunately you are late on this one. It makes no sense at all to collect TV levy and fail to deliver. On that HH is spot on, ZNBC must be accountable for the money they collect. However, theres many more issues that begs your voice bwana HH. saying you will fix it obviously has not worked. even Malema has explained how he can distribute the wealth of SA equally by empowering workers and how that empowerment can be effected.
The country awaits your alternative solutions to so many of our challenges, not just fixing it!

  12. For HH to speak, he must be already in possession of copy receipt from CAF for payment made by ZNBC & he will say its him who forced PF govt to pay. I agree with HH, ZNBC has no priority for Zambian sport & affairs except for PF political rallies. They only pay for English Soccer & useless movies from Mexico because they get cuts from these payments. Even for games at their back yard, Sunset Stadium, within a walking distance from ZNBC they fail to broadcast them giving excuses among them, lack of transport.

  13. This man is crazy.so he heard that Govnt have paid CAF and that ZNBC will today start televising U20 games live hence rushing to the media so that HH come seem to be comanding Govnt-shocking!!you f00l can use your stolen money to pay CAF so that Zambians can also benefit from your stolen money via privatisation.HH YOU LOOK VERY F00LISH IN THE EYES OF MANY ZAMBIANS.YOUR DESPERATION FOR STATE HOUSE MAKES YOU LOOK VERY F00LISH!!COME 2021 NI PF NAFUTI NAFUTI!!

    • Imagine this idyat! He listened to the 13.15 hours news and wants to come out like he has pushed ZNBC atase cheap politics!

    • HE STILL REMAINS RICHER THAN YOUR GRANDFATHER NO MATTER WHAT YOU CALL HIM.HE IS JUST PROVIDING CHECKS AND BALANCES TO THE RULING PARTY WHO RUN DEADNBC.

    • HE STILL REMAINS RICHER THAN YOUR GRANDFATHER NO MATTER WHAT YOU CALL HIM.HE IS JUST PROVIDING CHECKS AND BALANCES TO THE RULING PARTY WHO RUN DEADNBC.

    • @ mule

First and foremost id1ots type in capital letters (shouting). Secondly, so what if your HH is richer than our fathers, how does that benefit YOU and YOUR father?

  14. Fair comment HH we hope also that it is not just 2012 campaigns as you have demonstrated that you have already entered the 2021 campaign fray. Mr HH measure your opposition to the ruling party use tangible opposition points then you will graduate from the under five harsh tag. Our democracy needs opposition politics more than ever before. The opposition must act worthy of its name. We will support you as long as you genuinely fight for the Zambian people, not only a section.

  15. HH Show cause as to why you should be voted president of Zambia in 2021. You have 4.6 years to exculpate yourself. By order of Shaka.

  16. “…the failure by PF to pay CAF and televise the games…” HH.

Manje HH kamba ‘thank you’ kuli ba PF, kaili balipila…

    • We are the stupids why didn’t we pay in the first place.

      Yours truly the bread head
      Pretender to throne.

  17. Why do you hate HH when ever he points the truth: You must be suffering a lot. I am not a Tonga I am pure from Mbala and hatred is not part of my life: I always say hatred is a sin. Ali mupela sana ilibe mulafilwa nokusumima ati Lesa alimpela amano and the right to talk: Stop hatred

  18. In fact, that was the reason why TV2 was introduced, it was sports purposes not for those immoral movies that just train people to commit immorality and murders. Some of these murders taking place are as a result of watching those immoral soap operas. You may not like this point but I have seen in my life how close neighbors committing the same serious wrong doing and asked why do such a thing she made reference to a move they watched and wanted to do the same! So give us more of sports than immoral things then you will see the reduction is some of these things plugging our families…

  19. “PF has failed to pay to the CAF for the live transmission of the under 20 games on ZNBC.”

Contemporary issues are better resolved by weighing all possible effects of each option before taking any side. Unfortunately, that is one reasoning skill lacking in most politicians. And how is watching football connected to state travel? The two issues are quite different. Why should the whole government decide to pay football right, when this tournament was not budgeted for? Would that be PF or government money? Every politician must also learn to identify the government’s from from the ruling political party’s decisions. I don’t see PF buying football rights for Zambians to watch free football.

    • That just goes to show you how incoherent and inconsistent this HH OVAL HEAD guy is. In one breath he says, save and money and in another asking the same Gov’t to spend the money that is not even there and by the way it was not even Govt to pay but ZNBC! This moron suffers from MPD!

You are spot on Joseph Mvula!

  20. THIS MAN HH IS A SADIST.HE COMPLETELY FAILED TO BAIL OUT HIS VICE PRESIDENT C. BANDA THE TIME HE WAS THROWN FROM HIS HOUSE FOR RENT.RICH THIEF WHERE DO YOU TAKE YOUR MONEY IF YOU CAN NOT GIVE A PENNY TO A STREET KID SHAME
