Sports Nkana and Zesco set for Charity Shield showdown

Nkana and Zesco United will meet in the 2017 Charity Shield final after convincing victories in their 2017 Charity Shield semi-finals in a doubleheader at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

Zesco demolished defending champions Power Dynamos 4-2 while Nkana downed Zanaco 3-0.

Jesse Were scored a brace for Zesco in the 16th and 49th minute while David Owino added one in the 29th minute.

Power defender Billy Mutale scored an own goal in the 30th minute before Lyson Sikaonga pulled one back for Power in the 40th minute.

Larry Bwalya put some respectability on the scoreline in the 86th minute with Power’s second and final goal.

Meanwhile, Nkana made easy work of Zanaco with three without reply.

Walter Bwalya, Ronald Kampamba and Joseph Musonda were on target in the 8th, 51st and 71st minutes respectively.

Nkana and Zesco will meet in the final on April 2 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
