Lusaka Dynamos to use Heroes Stadium

Share

Lusaka Dynamos will play their 2017 season home games at National Heroes Stadium.

Dynamos CEO Simataa Simataa said the club is delighted to have secured Heroes as their home ground.

The club has played its home games either Sunset Stadium on Edwin Emboela Stadium over the last two seasons.

“Heroes Stadium is a venue of international standards and has very good facilities in terms of dressing rooms and the pitch which both add up to the quality football we want to see,” Simataa said.

Dynamos will be home in their first 2017 FAZ Super Division fixture of the season on April 8 when they host Power Dynamos.

They are now the first club to play all their scheduled league games at the two-year old venue.

Zanaco have played two league matches including one CAF Champions League game there last month against Young Africans.

Meanwhile, Napsa Stars too have announced a venue change for the 2017 campaign.

Napsa will now play their home games at Emboela after using Sunset in the second half of the 2016 season.

“The clubs contract at sunset ended in December and was not renewed,” Napsa media officer Gwen Chipasula said.

  1. This is a national stadium my worry is Zambians have a very poor maintenance record and the place will be run down.

    • I agree, its expensive to maintain a stadium. But its damned if you do and damned if you dont. The stadium to be maintained needs resources. To get those resources you need people to use it. If the wrong people use it, it will be a grandson to Independence stadium soon

  2. During the U-20 I wasnt very impressed with that playing surface. The ball was jumping up and down. Someone needs to employ a proper greensman for Ndola and Lusaka stadium
