Nchanga Rangers fire coach Mwape

Struggling FAZ Super Division side Nchanga Rangers have fired head coach Bruce Mwape.

Club chairman Yoram Kapai confirmed the end of Mwape’s second spell as Nchanga trainer.

The struggling Chingola side is fifth from the bottom of the table with 12 points from 13 matches played.

“We hired him to once again try his luck but he failed us. We have material but the coach seemed not to care about training and discipline of the players,” Kapai charged.

Mwape, a former Roan United and Konkola Mine Police coach, was rehired early last season following the demise of Fighton Simukonda.

Meanwhile, Kapai has confirmed that assistant trainer Evans Sakala has been elevated as acting coach and will be assited by youth team coach Evans Mwaba.

  1. Bravo Brave Rangers! way to go! If a coach is not delivering Fire Him! We see that in the European leagues all the time.

  2. The performance of the team has nothing to do with Bruce Mwape but Yoram and his executive are using him as a scapegoat. Players go for months without pay and Yoram and his executive do not do anything about it. They also need to get the coach good players for him to produce good results.

  3. Add three or four experienced players to the team to inspire the young lads….bt nt frm chiwempala leopards!

  4. firing Mwape is not a solution. Just persuade the sponsors to invest in the team. buy good players. League teyabaana iyo.

  5. Copper belt teams have finished due to this Indians running the mines. You can have good coach and players but if sponsorship is bad the team cant go forward. NCHANGA CONSOLIDATED COPPER MINE ( NCCM) No rubbish KCM.

  6. BQ, I totally agree. Lack of investment is what has killed Rangers and other CB teams like Mighty and Nkana. It’s not by accident that ZANACO and Zesco are now the top dogs of Zambian soccer, they have simply done what the mines did a few years back.

Overall Zambian soccer in general is in need of some serious revamping.

  7. But if ba Patrick Nkhata is still team manager for 37 continuous years, how do we expect improvements just by hiring a new coach. What is needed at Rangers is a complete overhaul of the entire management team as well as the technical bench
