Mbesuma considering returning to Zambia?

Share

Collins Mbesuma may consider returning to the FAZ Super Division as the clubless Zambia striker continues to weigh his options.

Mbesuma is currently without a club after South African club Highlands Park released him at the end of last season following their demotion.

“He believes that he can still play at the highest level of the game, but if something fails to come up, then he will consider NFD. He is also considering going back to Zambia, but he loves SA and wants to remain here,” a source told South African newspaper The Citizen.

Mbesuma,33 left Zambia in 2004 for Kaizer Chiefs from Roan United and later had stints in Europe starting in England at Portsmouth and in Turkey before returning to South Africa.

  1. Mbesuma should consider retiring from playing football. His best years are long gone. The reason he is struggling to find a club is that he is in the evening of his career. I wonder why national team coaches are still calling such players.

  2. Mbesuma may be old but still has a lot to offer. I think he makes a better captain than Kalaba. If positioned and partnered properly (considering his age) he is still dangerous. Soccer is one of Zambia’s gift and pride. We must come up with a model of a player’s span. Roger Miller played at 40? We should maximise benefit from our boys. I think Mbesuma still has game.

  3. Age is just a number. He can play for as long as he wants e.g. Roger Miller n Late “Shoes” Moshoue.
For national team duties, yes he might have passed his stage. He can do himself favor retiring wearing a Zambian club Jersey like ba “Kilisi”

  4. The ZSL is wide open for him.. he’ll definitely draw crowds and add to the upward trajectory the local league is currently on.. It will be a win win for both Zed soccer and player. Zanaco and other big clubs should send their agents. Pa National Team, he has done us mightily proud..time to pass on the batton

  5. Let him join Kabwe Warriors FC who have no strikers but have defenders the whole team…He will make a big difference… The Executive must take this proposal seriously or else next year Kabwe Warriors FC who are known throughout the world, will be playing in division one league from the current Premium League…
