  1. ….”By press time, police officers had gone to pick up the remaining trucks whose had drivers who fled and left the trucks abandoned…” uummmmmm icingelezi

    • But they are the ones behind the sale of these Mukula logs, which government are talking about, corruption begins with government and ends with them. Laura and group should go ahead and protest the raping of our resources by those who should manage them.

    • Hibalwa: exactly my thought. Instead of wasting resources combating an illegal trade which ideally can be legalized. It would be better to develop a mechanism that would control the trade and collect the revenue as simple as that. What is Jean Kapata doing about this?

  2. Zambia awe mwandi, soon we shall be running around and shall be WORSE than Congo DR. It’s like law and order has completely broken down beyond repair.

  3. What happens to such an impound? Where does the Mukula go? I have a suggestion – sell it to people who make School desks or any other wood workers. Let them make finished products to sell. Schools all around the country have no desks, why doesn’t the government sell these logs to private companies involved in wood work. Its one way of empowering your own people.

  4. its funny whats happening with this mukula business, legit businesses have been banned from trading.
All of a sudden police are seizing trucks laden with mukula but the interesting part is that drivers manage to escape, later on when people lose interest these logs are surrendered to forestry dept and from there they find there way out of the country amidst a ban.
Fellow Zambians this is the work of a syndicate, its planned from the highest offices in the country.
We are led by thieves, criminals and smugglers in suits.

  5. SO, WHEN THIS TREES ARE INDISCRIMINATELY BEING CUT NO ONE SEES OR KNOWS WHAT IS HAPPENING? SO, WHERE ARE BA KAPENDA MABULA? AND WHERE AND WHAT IS THE MINISTRY RESPONSIBLE FOR LAND AND ITS NATURAL RESOURCE IS AND DOING? IS THIS ANOTHER ROCKET SCIENCE FOR THE ZAMBIAN GOVERNMENT NEED FOREIGN AID (MAINLY WHITE PEOPLE) INTERVENTION TO ADVISE THE GOVERNMENT TO LOOK AFTER ZAMBIA’S NATURAL RESOURCES. IS THIS INDISCRIMINATE CUTTING DOWN OF TREES ACCOMPANIED BY RE-PLANTING OF THE SAME SPECIES. ARE THESE LOGS GOING INTO THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES IN ZAMBIA FOR LOCAL CONSUMTION AND EXPORTS?
