In a statement, Prince Ndoyi who is the former ZANASU Vice President and renown youth activist said the UPND seems to be “dropping gears and momentum each passing day.
He said the opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema seems to have lost energy and enthusiasm as can be noted from the recent press briefing held at their secretariate.
“As a young political activist I would like to make an observation on the current political tempreture in our country. Listening to the most recent press breifing by the UPND and their leader Hakainde Hichilema was greatly worrying. The UPND and HH seems to be dropping gears and momentum each passing day.
“It was saddening to see the lack of energy and enthusiasm in UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema after his press briefing. What seemed as a once brave politician in HH seems to have been reduced by what most Zambians would be left to speculate.
“From an ordinary eye, one may wonder if its the incaceration or the so called dialogue that has deflated HH and his UPND,” he said.
Mr Ndoyi observed that the recent press briefing which was jointly held with ADD president Charles Milupi and People’s Party president Mike Mulongoti was just but a repeatation of what the outspoken expelled PF member has been singing (corruption allegations).
“The entire press briefing with Charles Milupi and Mike Mulongoti was centered around what Chishimba Kambwili has been saying. Much as I see Kambwili as a balooning noise maker and I may not agree with him on a number of issues, unfortunately he has robbed UPND the much needed political capital after the incarceration of their leader HH.”
He added that Mr Hichilema was literally begging Kambwili to join him when it should have been the other way round where Kambwili should be asking the UPND if he can join them.
He said while the UPND are crying over the supposedly stolen elections in the past, Kambwili is talking about the future and issues that resonate well with the average Zambian voter.
“Hakainde Hichilema was literally begging Chishimba Kambwili to join them instead of Kambwili himself begging for Hakainde’s support. He has since advised the UPND to consider identifying a new leader.
“The UPND must now focus on finding a new leader because at the pace HH is moving he may never become a President. UPND must consider undergoing top down political reforms or else they may retire into obscurity as an opposition political party,” he said.

@ Kumwesu; it is not the one that shouts the loudest that is heard; but the one that speaks sense. Kambwili has a fight with his party the PF and it is good that he is revealing theirn dirty little secrets but we want a leader that thinks; calculates and wants better for his or her country like HH does. If you are convincing yourself that UPND and HH are done; then you are mistaken. UPND is stronger and getting stronger and the incarcentration of HH has made him world famous and many more Zambians are listening to him more. Opposition is not a contest; every opposition is there to oppose the ruling party for checks and balances. Let Kambwili have his personal fight he is not presidential material after all.
On more than one occasion Kambwili has stated that his aim is to bring down Chagwa Lungu.
He said Chagwa Lungu has no right to chess him out of HIS party. Chagwa Lungu, according to Kambwili, was not there when PF was being constructed. He was only invoted in.

Comrade Kambwili, is a Party of one. He needs to create one, to capitalise on the moment, to become relevant in Party Politics. For that reason he can’t over shadow HH, because he has no real power.

For Chishimba is not a straightforward person…why all these rantings now. personally I would have given him respect if he spoke out when he was in power but defended everything with his thick neck. You know ‘barking dogs hardly bite’…he is far away from being a hero but closer to zero.
I think you have underestimated the intelligency of HH, Kambwili is doing the damage for UPND whilst HH is pulling all the strings locally and internationally quietly, just watch the space. PF have pressed the self destruction button.

The supreme leader HH has outlived his usefulness as UPND leader. I agree with the author of the article. The only problem and not only with UPND is that political parties in Zambia evolve around individuals. That is why l strongly support the idea of giving the presidential hopefuls a one of chance just like in the USA.

Bull sheet! How do you compare HH to Kambwili?
The Zambians have no one but themselves to blame for the status quo they find themselves in. HH or even CK can only do so much, they are not the only ones who have vested interest in this country…it’s “We” the people. The Post warned you….they came for everyone now there’s no one left. HH & Ck have 3 square meals a day…look around you and see if that’s the case for most of our people.. THAT should be the motivation for even you Prince to demand accountability and transparency and not settle for mediocrity. But then again I’m just another Zambian armchair critic….
UPND has never been this strong, so many of my friends and relatives are regretting about the choices they made. Those in UPND are now more united and focused on one thing, their stolen power and how not to let it happen again. When your stupid neighbours invite you to their washing dirty linen in public, would you go? We knew it that when all the money is gone and nowhere to borrow, this would happen Bingo here we go. At least ours is a clean game. No Jean the baptist, judas fimofimo, my brothers and sisters in UPND, when you see these things you know your time is near. Kambili is simply splitting PF’s votes and not UPND. Personally, UPND has never convinced me but CK’s rantings doesnt affect them. Note that even if UPND does not campaign and elections were held today, they would still get their votes in their strong holds and we all know how those regions vote. Its PF to be worried about CK and UPND to enjoy the confusion which gives them an advantage.
The “water has been stirred” and the opposition should take advantage of these revelations by Chishimba to demand for transparency in the deals that Lungu has been crafting to enrich himself and his cabal of thieves at the expense of the poor citizenry. Opposition parliamentarians should take up these issues and push for impeachment of this president of a party that has lost the mandate to rule through corrupt activities of its leadership. What is annoying and insulting is how PF treat the people with such disrespect and disdain by the cheap and ridiculous explanations from Amos Chanda and Jean the Baptist! It is shameful.
Just to add, the author is an attention seeker. Kambwili has to do his ranting now because he is sidelined from PF. Where was he when these things were happening. It is the case of having no honor among thieves. Kambwili’s ranting should not be taken as sincere, he is equally a thief.
