Police impound five trucks loaded with suspected mukula logs in Mufumbwe District 

Police have impounded five trucks loaded with Mukula logs found at chief Chizela’s of Mufumbwe district in Northwestern province.

 

Northwestern province  Commissioner of police Auxensio  Daka confirmed the incident in a statement in Solwezi District.

 

Mr. Daka said police found five trucks at the palace full of Mukula logs which were being conveyed with smaller vehicles from the forest to the palace where they loaded into big trucks.

 

He said that the five trucks which were loaded with approximately 400 logs of Mukula have been moved to the  police station in Mufumbwe and drivers have been detained.

 

Mr. Daka said that police have since opened a case of illegal possession of forest produce.

  1. I think someone high up in Lazy Lungu’s govt is involved in this illegal activity as they seem to be very organised…simply follow the money.

  2. Even after empounding the truck with Mukula tree, the one leader will say bring evidence.

  3. By the way when they impound, where do those logs go? Who takes care of them for many years because no story follows thereafter.

  5. At the Palace sure. The Chief is the first suspect and should be arrested and investigated. This is not ECL or HH, but the Chief who is corrupt. Maybe not paid enough dues by the Government, hence is allowing deforestation in his own Kingdom. SHAME ON THIS CHIEF
