Kapata in Ndola to sort out land wrangles

The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has begun an exercise to look at resolving various land and forestry wrangles on the Copperbelt.

Minister of Lands Jean Kapata said in Ndola today that the Ministry wants to sort out issues pertaining to land administration at Ndola City Council whose land agency government suspended last year due to numerous illegalities in land management.

Ms. Kapata said she is in the province to also follow up on how management at Ndola City Council was responding to the directives which led to the suspension of their agency meeting

Ms Kapata who is accompanied by his counterpart in the Ministry of National Development Planning Alexander Chiteme, ZAFFICO officials, Commissioner of Lands will also visit Mwekera Plantation where Kitwe City Council has asked government to consider degazetting the forestry.

  2. today cadres were in mushili demarcating land for themselves on a road blocking plot owners in the process please look into the matter the area affected by the cadres is on plot numbers ranging from 15/330 to 15/340

  3. I doubt the capability of the lady to sort out the complex issue of land illegality in Ndola. Without taking any criminal action against the perpetrators as well as some beneficiaries nothing will ever change. Demolition of the illegal structures and settlements should be undertaken as well so that introduction of well planned legal settlements can take root. This should be done in consultation with residents of affected areas such as Mushili where such illegal activities are a cancer. Dealing with the local leadership especially the local authority is an exercise in futility because these are the culprits – the mayors, town clerks, directors, field personnel, councillors, cadres, district commissioners are all part of the scum including lands people. The only solution would be to appoint…

  4. Sort out the old and the new but majority poor Zambians will be left with no Land or houses . We know what’s happening it is Bowman and Mulenga who are behind this Land issues because they are very much interested in Dola Hill land .

  5. Don’t be deceived Hon. Mwalasobanya ifintu mukafilwa noku fisobolola trust them as they have trusted you why not Lusaka council why not Kitwe council .Go ahead but you will create a mistake in future .
