Zambia will join other countries and institutions from around the world that will discuss sustainable and identify progressive ways of ending poverty at the 4th German-Africa Agribusiness Forum in Berlin, Germany.

Minister of Agriculture Dora Siliya will be the main speaker at the global platform which will be held on the 18th of January.

The Indaba will give the minister an opportunity to share the Zambia agriculture experience to the rest of the World.

The meeting which draws experts from various institutions globally is timely as President Edgar Lungu increases the call for diversifying the country’s economy.

It is one of the many initiatives of the influential German Africa Business Association known by its German acronym Afrika-Verein that recently paid a courtesy call on the Zambian embassy in Berlin.

Zambia is one of the few countries that escaped the harsh negative impacts of climate change and recorded a bumper harvest in 2015 when other countries in the region suffered a damaged maize crop.

This is contained in a press statement issued to ZANIS by Zambia Embassy First Secretary Press Berlin Germany in Lusaka today.

  1. Zambian agriculture is highly mismanaged by the politicians.
Dora has nothing to show here, she needs to stay home and sort out the mess she has made. Zambian farmers deserve better.

  2. With due respect, and I stand to be corrected, I don’t know whether Madam Siliya is the right person for the ministry of agriculture. At a time when the country desperately needs diversification ,I think we needed someone with a more strong sense of urgency and forceful. If she is the type of top brass kind of men and women we have in the country then I have no doubt that things will get worse. I m not insinuating here that she is useless, but that she is a round peg in a square hole. This appointment in my view lacks merit and a let down to the sector

    • It’s not about Dora, it’s about the interaction with global experts from which we can only benefit as a country.

There is always a defined protocol on these international meetings in accordance to which the entire delegation (not only Dora) is strictly required to act because consequently there shall be a report from all functionalities on matters discussed and inputs from all representatives.

  3. Really laughable…please Dora stay at home and save that first class air tickets and hotel accommodation money for something else like buying bins or brooms to sweep the dirt in the streets!!

  4. Intellectual vacuum in zambia, the zambian agriculture experience is to provide late inputs then PRAY for rains.
If i recall that was our strategy

  5. Progress is attained by learning from our past failures as well as successes. Inter fora such as this one are essential to our pursuit of diversification of economy.Dora is an astute, resilient leader with focus as well as remarkable abilities to showcase Zambia and sponge futuristic ideas. Denigrating her serves no purpose. Goodluck Ms siliya, i will be scanning the channels for you.

  6. ITS NOT ABOUT HON SILIYA , SHE IS JUST A MOUTH PIECE FOR MINISTRY OF AGRIC. SO TECHNOCRATS WILL WRITE HER A REPORT SHE JUST READS IS IT DIFFICULT??
