Zambia midfielder Augustine Mulenga has declared he has joined Orlando Pirates to win silverware.

The 2017 Zambia Footballer of The Year joined Pirates from Zanaco on a three year deal just after Zambia’s elimination from the 2018 CHAN tournament on January 27 where he scored three goals.

Pirates, who are currently second on the league table, have not won the league title since 2012 and trace their last piece of silverware to 2014.

“I have already won the Zambian League and other titles in Zambia but now I want to try my hand at winning other trophies in a different country,” the 28-year-old midfielder told Kickoff.

“It’s a challenge I have set myself. I want to win trophies here in South Africa and obviously, when I refer to trophies, I mean the big ones – the league and/or Nedbank Cup, simply because these two trophies give us an opportunity to contest on the continent once again.

“African Champions League is the ultimate dream of mine and this is one of the reasons why I came to Orlando Pirates.”
