Civil Society for Constitutional Agenda (CISCA) Chairperson John Mambo has said that it was wrong for the United Party for National Development UPND) to shun the pre-dialogue summit as they could have used the opportunity to state their position over the planned dialogue

Bishop Mambo said the UPND should have attended the pre-dialogue summit that was organized by the Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) to state their concerns.

“The summit was an opportunity for the UPND to state their concerns on the dialogue, if it was going to be me would have gone there and explained what I expected,” he said.

Bishop Mambo told journalists at a media briefing that the decision by ZCID to organise the pre-dialogue process was welcome but that there was need for the Church to lead the talks as they were more neutral.

He said this was unlike ZCID which was an interested part in the matters and the members were the interested parties to the dialogue process.

Bishop Mambo said CISCA welcomed President Lungu’s pronouncement that the Patriotic Front would not go to the dialogue table with any pre-conditions.

“The Head of State has indeed provided leadership and prevailed over some senior PF members who were insisting on the recognition of President Lungu by the UPND leadership as President, ”Bishop

He said the ZCID could also continue to be part of the dialogue process

Meanwhile ZCID executive director Monica Kajimana said the delegates at the summit agreed to embrace and rally behind all well-meaning local dialogue efforts including those initiated by the Church, and ZCID towards dialogue

She said the delegates where gratified that the constitutional review has been halted following concerns by stakeholders

Mrs Kajimana said ZCID was ready to work with other local and regional stakeholders in responding to critical issues identified for Zambia’s dialogue agenda.

She said ZCID planned to convene a validation meeting on Wednesday May, 23 2018 where the resolutions and recommendations generally set out by the participants will be presented for final consolidation and endorsement.

    • Everything about HH is boycotting or absconding or walking away. How is HH in his mind kanshi?
And his followers are like lost sheep. Meee meee! What ever HH says is yes yes! Ala let us move on now mwe!!

    • A script of orders from South African Boers and European Liberal Command Centers is yet to be received by one Hichilema hence the position taken. As a politician, the brother is a robot. Not a human with a robotic personality but a real artificially intelligent object on the local scene configured by some Liberal Data Scientist in foreign capital imperial command centers. Sad that UPND is beholden to powerful vested foreign interests, Hichilema himself not a politician is in cahoot with multinational business Groups misled by the Agenda corporate media backing. Expecting him to do anything Zambian and in interest of Zambia is rather a tall order you should stop dreaming about. Zambians keep him going in politics as a matter of sustaining the democratic stats other than an alternative to…

    • Where was ZCID before the Commonwealth came on the scene to intervene? From some kind of slumber ZCID probably saw opportunity for cashing in! Theirs just muddied the waters other than begging to join the Commonwealth but theirs is a complete usurping of the Commonwealth perceived roadmap! Had ZCID stayed mum this confusion would not have arisen!

By the way is it only UPND that did not attend? If UPND is indeed a critical participant then iron out concerns preceding any sort of participatory meeting! UPND did well to stay away and true to what Bishop Mambo says that….”if it was going to be me would have gone there and explained what I expected,”…. agreed he’s not UPND!

  1. Can this self appointed bishops concentrate on the teachings of God instead of selling their soul to the corrupt Godless politicians?

  2. Nonsense daily, expending energies on wrong things…. Sembe Ni hh, bra bra…a country that has made politics more important than anything else, can never develop…… Ecl is president and should be impeached, next hour, No! we don’t recognize him as president? Next day, there is no link between the 2, we can dialogue concurrently as we impeach the rat….nonsense and toxic!

    • Sympathize with HH please. The man is like a poor person who drops the only k100 he’s ever had in his life. He’ll be stopping and asking everyone if they have seen his k100.

    • Thank you citizen ……that long …..for sure public bodies need teeth…..they need strengthening otherwise they are all corrupted by corrupt politicians.

So ZICD only found its voice when Mr lungu mentioned them ?

  3. Mambo it’s people like you have made Upnd to behave like a spoiled child. Kupusa iwe fake clergy.

  4. I beg to disagree with Mambo, UPND did well to shun the surrogate PF ZCID. There was no need to legitimise this incompetent organisation. ZICD is preferred by PF because ECL /PF know they can bull dose and manipulate the outcome of the resolutions. ZCID would have no capacity to enforce resolutions.

  5. Umungulu ka Bishop, just shut up!!!! Zambia needs Commonwealth to finish what it statutes….and not instructions from Jonathan Mutaware to utilize tu PF ZCID!!!!!

    • The Commonwealth gave conditions to both government and HH for his release but your HH has abrogated each and everyone of these. In any what is there to discuss. HH lost simple. Let his MPs table the PoA in parliament instead of dancing to wrong songs all the time.

  6. Umungulu ka Bishop, just shut up!!!! Zambia needs Commonwealth to finish what it started…..and not instructions from Jonathan Mutaware to utilize tu PF ZCID!!!!!

  7. THE GREATEST MISTAKE THAT CAN EVER BE MADE IS TO LISTEN TO THE DEMANDS AND WHIMS OF ONE TRIBAL PARTY. THE DIALOGUE MUST GO ON. AND SO FAR, SO GOOD.

  8. There are enough political parties in Zed to form a quorum. If one or two parties decide not to participate then it’s their constitutional right to do so. However, they should not in the future make demands for another interparty dialogue. There more important issues to deal with in the country than wasting tax payers limited resources to entertain those who don’t know whether they are coming or going. My President Chipimo will attend the dialogue to bring forward and discuss important issues that concern us and the political environment in our country. That’s all I care about.

  9. Today opposition is weak because hh has personalized 3 provinces who give 100% vote

If hh was out of picture hh followers will work with majority bembas and remove pf from power

    • Hh has been on the politico sceen competing for the presidency for the last 20 years yet Zambia is now more tribally polarised and moraly bankrupt then at anytime in history……this is only when lungu comes along…..is this a coincidence ?

  10. Arrogant, selfish, pompous, rude, emotional, tribal

He is not telling us what he will do
All he is saying he wants to be president of Zambia

    • Every month there is a new allegation of corruption and stealing……indeed he does not even deny that he is a corrupt thief…..was his black listing by LAZ a coincidence ??…

  11. Spaka lilo tell what hh will do

All you are saying lungu corrupt lungu is corrupt. Can that make us vote for hh

  12. The problem here is, when you think you are the only one who can fix national issues, you don’t agree and respect others. But then national affairs are not conducted in that way. No matter how bad you look at ECL, he has also a good side and no matter how good you look at hh or other opposition leaders, they have their bad side. This is a fact for all of us citizens. Therefore let us sit down and talk amoungst ourselves. Expecting someone else from either Europe or somewhere else to come and sit us down, we are lying to ourselves. This might even cause serious problems for our country. Mark my words.

    • No one trust’s lungu……just look at the PF cader violence he unleashes on the opposition….

  13. The problem is those calling for local mediation are silent when lungu and kapoyongo unleash their violent cader PF thugs on the opposition…..those thugs smash radio stations hosting opposition in full view of the police…..in fact opposition are assaulted by known pf thugs while police watch , so what local talks are you asking for ??

  14. Spaka lilo what about namwala .you to have selective memory

Hh brought zambia n industry down

He was setting price and buying properties

Look at mosi o tunya hotel

Would you honestly hh is better than ecl

    • Political….

Every country going through an imf or world bank adjustment programme to sell off loss making industries has winners and losers ……you only pray that those winners are local businessmen who hopefully will reinvest and provide employment….

If hh done wrong during privatisation he must be investigated and prosecuted , i am all for that and will support an investigation on him 200 %.

  15. At least for the first time Bishop Mambo has shown some maturity and sense in admonishing his UPND Party for its idiocy.

  16. Thats why he will never rule Zambia he acted like a monkey in maize field

I see him on prime tv sobbing every day for plot one

Gbm and hh have destroyed meaningful opposition

    • Comrade…..it is lungu and pf acting monkies in a maize field…..stop trying to blame the opposition for the violence and rotten politics lungu and kapoyongo unleash on them….

  17. Ba Spaka, Jay Jay and likes of you. When is it going to sink into your sick skulls that hh will never rule this country? Stop wasting your time with that finished politician .

  18. It is amazing how people still even mention Mr Lungu with pride and desire to see him be re elected in 2021,, which Zambia do you gentlemen live in?? or perhaps what companies do you gentlemen work for?? how are your salaries compared to the tax you’re paying?? We pay a lot of Tax but when our President goes out of the country he goes to do personal deals,, nothing unconstitutional but very morally upside down,, look at the Zesco tariffs,, the price of Fuel,, energy determines a number of commodity prices hence everything is now expensive thanks to the Bonds,, I am able to distinguish because I was in Zambia before Mr Lungu came into office and I have seen what has become of our country,, now Why Lungu? why ZCID when local organs are compromised due to poverty?
