The opposition UPND says it has not yet adopted anybody to stand on the party ticket for the position of Lusaka Mayor.
Deputy Press Secretary to UPND President Hakainde Hichilema Briam Mwiinga said the UPND has not adopted anyone for the position of Lusaka Mayor as the city is still in a mourning environment.
Mr. Mwiinga said the party is also awaiting the Electoral Commission of Zambia to set the date for the by-election.
“The party President, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema is however aware of how much Zambians have bestowed trust and confidence in him on delivering development in the country when in State House. And when in government, he will endeavor to do that, just like he is doing now as a private citizen by creating jobs through business opportunities for the unemployed youth,” Mr. Mwiinga said.
Ha ha ha! We are still mourning? UPND to mourn? That’s a miracle! HH doesn’t mourn. Why should we?
Really laughable Hakainde thinks he is running a family business where you mourn for a month…here is another example of why UPND and the media team are behind PF’s young media team, one thing they do not realise is that PF started looking for a candidate long before the ailing Wilson passed on…I mean why do you think they got Kaseba out of the way and asked Maureen for the job in Canada. UPND did the same thing with Chilanga immediately the Speaker declared that seat vacant they started complaining and questioning his judgement for three weeks by then PF was already on the ground looking for candidates.

I strongly suspect the Lusaka mayor was deliberately poisoned by PF with Lungu’s knowlege to pave way for daughter Tasila to stand.
If you remember Tasila was begged to stand down to avoid Lungu looking like he turning Zambia into a family business.
This time I think Lungu is pushing for her Daughter to contest and he is ready to take out any PF or UPND competitor who will try to compete with her daughter.
Lungu and his PF thugs must be taken out by all means.

Tongas will one day lead this country. But this will be 100 years from now . The Central statistics office shows that for the Tongas to have enough numbers to provide a president , each man will have to marry three wives and have 8 Children in each one of them. This population will have to grow to a voting age of 18. If they reduce the voting age to 16, then Tongas will have a president in 2066.

My advice to UPND is that identify a candidate soonest and begin the campaign to sell the aspirer to the city. The mayoral election cuts across political divide, the candidate must be a likeable and saleable character.
Stop hiding in mourning, the mayoral election must be held within 90 days from death of the incumbent. PF or any other political party vying for the seat will never give you time to search for the right candidate. Wilson Kalumba is already interred so let the game begin.

It is foolish for many of you to always relate UPND to Tongas because many of you are married to Tonga women and men and have children. To which side do you put these children who are both Tonga, Bemba, or other tribes. P F is not for Easterners, or Northeners but a Zambian party so are UPND. FDD, MMD parties no matter who the leaders are. Remember when you point a finger to say you Tongas are fools you are pointing more fingers at your tribe being more foolish,or tribalism than a Tonga.
