Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan has commended First lady Esther Lungu and her Foundation Trust for the work she is doing in impacting the lives of the less privileged in the country.

ZANIS reports that Mrs. Erdogan said that Zambia is lucky to have Mrs. Lungu who puts the underprivileged first and appreciated the works done by her foundation.

She was speaking when she called on her at the Esther Lungu Foundation Trust secretariat in Lusaka.

Mrs. Erdogan said she was inspired by the great works of her counterpart hence the need to work together and she further extended an invitation to Mrs. Lungu.

And Esther Lungu said she is ready to work with the Turkish first lady’s office and is looking forward to a longer relationship with her office.

Mrs. Lungu added that she decided to help the needy after seeing the suffering of the people and came to their rescue in her own humble way.

The first lady noted that she undertakes such programs mostly in the rural parts of the country where the majority of the marginalized are found.

Mrs. Lungu said her foundation was founded on the four pillars which include the economic empowerment of women and girls, maternal and child health, water and sanitation and helping persons with disabilities.

Meanwhile the Esther Lungu foundation coordinator Mildred Chumbwe said in 2016 the Turkish First Lady’s foundation donated 30 thousand United States dollars and wheelchairs which were delivered to the intended people.

Ms. Chumbwe said the donated items assisted a number of disabled people and the terminally ill around the country.

She said the foundation will ensure that the relationship between Zambia and Turkey is strengthened further.

The two first ladies and their delegation later visited the Kabwata cultural village where Mrs. Erdogan appreciated the artistic works at the village.

  1. Really laughable….Old Hen Ester took Turkish first lady to art displayed on the floor…these are wsted years with these fontinis in State House!

  2. I trust the first lady is doing the best she can and I know you can do better. May God bless you and your works.

  3. A spouse of a terrorist being welcomed by an illiterate monkey who cannot read or write. This is how the pf have cheapen the office of the president. Meanwhile her crazy husband is busy begging. What an embarrassment. And yet some of you voted miles sampa because of free WiFi ubututu weka weka fye. Zambia needs a revolution like zimbabwe is currently undergoing

    • Esther Lungu can read and write, wa itaya trying to sound intelligent and evil at one. Waatch past presentations of her at home and abroad. Stop being a little boy or girl.

    • Nzelu ulibe nzelu because if you have heard this woman talk you will realise that she has no sense of English language. If you cannt speak something chances are you cannot read it or write it. It is not a crime to be illiterate. She is just a mere product of her husbands failure to ensure viable education systwm in the country

  4. I just wonder why they do not feel ashamed of the dirt? Look at the buildings in the background?!? Nsoni zili ku? Go there and see for yourselves. You may call Erdogan whatever you want but everything is his country works. Public transport(you have a train every 4 mins), garbage collection (4 times a day), online countrywide food delivery service, you can travel to any part of the world the same day from Istanbul airport….need I go on? These are the people you should envy.

    • Last time I checked. Some Turks still squat to *take a dump* just like your villages. No power no running water… Istanbul is like katondo Street, full of pickpockets and scammers
