Share

Coach Wedson Nyirenda negotiated the first hurdle of his cup final target mandate in the South African league following Baroka FC’s Telkom Cup last 16 home win over Golden Arrows on Saturday night.

Baroka beat Arrows 2-0 at home in Polokwane to qualify to the quarterfinals.

Collins Magaka and Tebogo’s goals in each half of the match handed Baroka its first competitive win since beating Cape Town City 2-1 in league action at the same venue on August 8.

The ex -Chipolopolo coach’s brief following his appointment as Baroka coach was to ensure they reach a Cup final this season and also secure a top eight finish.

Meanwhile, Baroka will know their quarterfinal opponents when the draws are made on Tuesday.
