Lusaka Lawyer Lewis Mosho has written to expelled roan member of parliament Chishimba Kambwili and Mazabuka parliamentarian Gary Nkombo giving the duo a 48-hour ultimatum to pay court costs amounting to five million kwacha.
The two parliamentarians were on 24th May 2018 condemned with costs by the Lusaka high court.
This is after their application to join a case in which a Lusaka resident Robert Chabinga challenged the speaker’s decision to accept the impeachment motion against the President was dismissed.
Mr. Chabinga has instructed his lawyer Lewis Mosho of Lewis Nathan Advocates to remind the two parliamentarians to settle the debt failure to which he will ask the court to declare them bankrupt.
Mr. Chabinga says the matter is very serious as the two may end up losing their parliamentary seats in the event the court ordered that they are bankrupt.
This is contained in a letter dated 26th October 2018 from Mr. Chabinga’s lawyers and obtained by ZNBC news in Lusaka.
Just because he’s jonathan’s Errand boy, he gets drunk with second hand power and issues 48 hour ultimatums.

If these letters were genuine and non political they could have been restricted to the two respondents and not the public. What do we have to do with these political debts, keep politics to yourselves. But also the courts should rise to the occasion and say these costs are unrealistic and above all not logical. Tell this guy doing this that there is too much hunger on the ground for us to be subjected to such vexatious issues.

When are ministers paying back the money duly ruled by the courts that they should pay for staying in office? I have never seen such level of arrogance by these Political leaders in PF. Its like rules and laws do not apply to them. The court was very clear, no ambiguity, translated the constitution but these are stubborn people, they perceive themselves to be above the law. Let Ministers pay back first before Garry Nkombo and Kambwili pay your agent.

For lawyers to be respected in the society they must guide their client and argue their cases in court rather than mislead the public by outrageous acts…. Can a lawyer write a letter of demad to be paid by intended defendant without issuing summons for assessment of damages in the dismissed applications….. Well well well, Time is moving too fast for the prophecies to be fulfilled. Each person is an instrument to something either good or bad, but for a purpose. Because ever since we had elections both by and general elections, there hasn’t been peace, only campaigns, disrespecting eachother throughout because something is wrong somehow but nevertheless, I’m glad to those who speak on behalf of those without an access to radios and any other form of Media because.

Well that is why everyone is rushing to become a lawyer, there is a lot of money. This will send a good signal to those who like sueing people. Any small thing I will sue you. Cases involve costs. These guys fly to London for tea and come back for dinner in Zambia they will easily pay.
Is Mosho conferred with the title State Counsel? If so, these guys enjoy very heavy legal charges, and they charge per hour (in Dollars or Kwacha equivalent). So be warned, if you intend hiring a lawyer who is a State Counsel, be prepared with a fat cheque.
