The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has announced that the ballot papers for the November 20 Mangango Parliamentary seat will arrive at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on Monday November 5, 2018 at 14:40 hours from Dubai, United Arab Emirates aboard Emirates Airline.
The Mangango Parliamentary seat fell vacant after the death of UPND member of parliament Naluwa Mweene who died in a road traffic accident.
ECZ Public Relations Manager Margret Chimanse has announced in a press release that the other expected ballot papers are for Lupososhi Chairperson and five local government by-elections.
Ms Chimanse says the commission is inviting the media and the participating political parties in the said by-elections to witness the arrival of the ballot papers.
She adds that verification of the ballot papers with the participating political parties will take place on Tuesday November 6 at 10:00 hours at the ECZ offices.
The Patriotic Front (PF), the opposition United Party For National Development (UPND) among other parties will take part in the by-elections.
The ruling party field Godwin Putu while the opposition UPND field Mwendoi Akakandelwa for the Mangango seat.

Why print ballots abroad sure?
Zambia has teally gone to the dogs under thievibg PF . Zambia cant even print its own ballot papers. How preposterous!

@wanzelu Zambian ballot papers have always be printed outside the country since the opposition parties rejected Government printers. That’s when the dogs came to Zambia… way before PF was in government.

Years of independence and still can’t print own ballots
We can print in Zambia but some gods opposed it because they think that their vote will be stolen so they print out of the country to satisfy the opoosition’s ego.
We want all people of Zambia to protest voting if the ballot papers are patented outside the country. We have to force the ruling government and the opposition that we cannot be used like this.
We have many people in the country looking for work and the government together with the opposition are depriving people jobs and money.
Secondly we have to protest if a government official is sick and taken to hospital outside the country. This is a sign that they don’t trust their own doctors and hospitals. Politicians should learn to test their own medicine.
All government officials should take their children to government schools. By so doing they will improve the education system, healthcare facilities. Without this measures the people of will always be abused by the ruling party…
