Zesco tests unbeaten Kabwe Warriors’s hunger for the 2019 title

Share

Zesco United will test Kabwe Warriors appetite for the number one spot this Saturday in Pool A of the 2019 FAZ Super Division when they clash at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Warriors head into the Week 12 match leading Pool A on 21 points, one more than Zanaco whom they dislodged last weekend after the latter lost 3-1 at home to fourth positioned Lusaka Dynamos and they beat Kitwe United 2-1 in Kabwe.

Zesco are third, just two points behind Warriors and enjoying consistent form since their elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup in March.

George Lwandamina’s side is also unbeaten in the league in their last five league games with three wins and two draws.

In addition, Zesco have competitively now not lost in seven games if you include their 2-1 continental victory over Asante Kotoko on March 17 in Ndola.

But the pressure is on Warriors who are now the only unbeaten team in the 2019 FAZ Super Division campaign.

Tennant Chilumba’s side must conjure at least a point against the defending champions this weekend if their title credentials are it be taken seriously.
