Share

Speaker of the National Assembly, Nelly Mutti has officially commissioned the K1.6 million Malole Constituency Office in Mungwi District.

And Ms Mutti says constituency offices are strategic links between the legislative wing of government which cut beyond the political divide.

She said the facilities are key in enhancing participation in governance issues and also serve as information resource centers.

The Speaker has since paid tribute to the German government through the German Development Bank for funding the construction of Constituency offices in different parts of the country.

She said the development is in line with the mission of taking Parliament closer to the people.

Earlier, German Development Bank Director, Stefan Lutz said community engagements are key in strengthening parliamentary and government operations.

Mr Lutz encouraged the public to make use of Constituency offices to continue engaging political leaders on matters of development.

And Malole Constituency Member of Parliament, Robert Kalimi said the newly built office should not be politicised and is open to all residents of Mungwi.

  1. I thought Nelly Kashumba had taken a sabbatical leave to introspect and reconcile with her family. I’m shocked that she’s in Malole and going about as business as usual. What kind of people are we?
