Visiting President of the State of Israel has concluded his two day state visit to Zambia and has since departed.
While in the country, President Herzog held bilateral talks with President Hakainde Hichilema at State House.
The bilateral talks were centered within the framework of the General Framework Agreement of Cooperation signed in 2023.
The two leaders also held discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in key areas such as agriculture, health, education and technology as well as trade and investment.
President Herzog’s historical visit to Zambia, underscores the warm and growing friendship between the two nations, while at the same time offering an opportunity to consolidate development cooperation aligned with Zambia’s economic transformation agenda.
After successfully holding bilateral talks at State House, President Hichilema hosted a state banquet in honour of his counterpart.
President Herzog departed Kenneth Kaunda International Airport Presidential terminal at 08:56Â hours.
He was seen off by President Hichilema, cabinet ministers, senior government officials, service chiefs and party officials.
Before boarding the plane, President Herzog Inspected a guard of honour mounted by the Zambia Army.
His visit to Zambia, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, is a reciprocal visit to President Hichilema’s visit to Israel in June 2023 and signals a deepening of bilateral ties between the two countries.
