Chilanga District in Lusaka province has recorded a sixth laboratory – confirmed choleras case.
Acting Chilanga District Commissioner, Maureen Chilende said the patient was treated and has since been discharged.
Ms Chilende said the last case was recorded on17th January, 2026, stating that the situation remained under control and currently no patient was in admission and no deaths have been recorded.
Speaking in an interview, Ms Chilende noted that authorities were implementing measures including safe water provision, chlorine distribution, community sensitisation, oral rehydration centres, active case searches and intensified waste collection.
These include installation of a 10, 000 – litre water tank in Game-Sangalala, setting up of two rehydration centres in Game-Sangalala and Linda Malupili.
In addition, Chilanga Town Council has intensified waste collection in Game-Sangalala and also in surrounding areas
