Minister of Youth, Sports and Arts Elvis Nkandu has dispelled assertions that the 25, 000 hectares of land which was given to the Ministry by the Kizela Royal Establishment is only benefiting the youths from outside Northwestern Province.
Responding to a query which was raised by one of the Journalist over the land in question, Mr Nkandu said the concerns raised by the royal establishment is not about the land benefiting youths form outside Northwestern Province but that since the land was given, it has been under utilised by the owners of the land who happened to be the youths themselves.
Mr Nkandu said that it was for this reason that he was determined to ensure youths accessed the land and began developing it.
He said young people across the country had been crying for land adding that it was unfortunate that when the land was available it was again under utilised.
Mr Nkandu clarified that the 25, 000 hectares of land in Mufumbwe did not only belong to the youths of Northwestern but to all the youths in the Country who may wish to access it.
