Chief Mumbi of Mumbi Chiefdom in Petauke District of Eastern Province has commended Zambia’s first republican President, Kenneth Kaunda for his unwavering Pan-Africanism which paved way for independence for many African countries.
Chief Mumbi expressed that, being a pan-Africanist, Kaunda was non-aligned but advocated for African countries to attain their freedom from colonial rule.
He highlighted that Kaunda wanted other Black Africans to experience firsthand what it meant to roll back colonial rule and gain independence.
In an exclusive interview with the media in Lusaka, Chief Mumbi explained that Kaunda sacrificed a lot to ensure that neighbouring countries achieved independence.
“He lived to make sure that the countries could become independent, and most of the leaders in those countries received free education in Zambia,” he said.
He also noted that Zambia, in those days, was at the peak of its leadership driven by patriotism, citing that most African leaders then and now had been educated in Zambia freely.
He adds that all of this demonstrates the love Kaunda had for the African people his desire for their liberation, which he pursued by sacrificing everything for them.

LT how can someone have an “exclusive with the media”? The moment one speaks to pluralised medium (I.e. media) the interview isn’t exclusive.
Are you trying to hide who he spoke to? “The media” is too vague. Just tell us which medium he spoke to.
What’s this fad: he spoke in an exclusive interview with the media? Which media?
