Coach Oswald Mutapa says Power Dynamos must demonstrate the character of champions by beating Kansanshi Dynamos in Wednesday’s rescheduled Super League match away in Solwezi.
Power over the weekend successfully defended the Super League title with four matches remaining in the 2025/26 season.
The Kitwe giants have a 15-point unassailable lead over second placed Red Arrows.
In a pre-match comment, Mutapa said Power must not relax against Kansanshi after securing their ninth league title.
He predicted a tough match against improved Kansanshi at Solwezi’s Independence Stadium.
“Another difficult game. Kansanshi have been getting results especially at home, but we are champions. We have to go out there and grind results like we have been doing in the past,” Mutapa said.
Power have 70 points from 30 matches played while 11th placed Kansanshi have 38 points from 30 matches.
“It won’t be easy, but it is our season to win. So, we have to go there and get the results. It will be difficult, but we have to keep on going, show professionalism by getting results, show people that we are champions through hard work, getting results and nothing else,” Mutapa said.
In the other midweek delayed match, Zanaco will host townmates Red Arrows at Sunset Stadium in the Lusaka derby.
Meanwhile, Mutapa says Power worked hard to defend the league title.
“I give kudos to the boys. I think it hasn’t been easy, they put in a lot of hard work but of course when you put in a lot of hard work rewards come easily and we are grateful that we are champions,” he said.
“We did our part and divine interventions also came to us and we are grateful to God that we are champions,” Mutapa.
This is the first time Power have won the league title consecutively.
