King Mswati III arrived at the Former President’s residents at exactly 12:32 in the company of Justice Minister, Ngosa Simbyakula.
Shortly after exchanging greetings upon his arrival, Dr Kaunda lead King Mswati into the house where the two held private talks that lasted an hour amid tight security.
Later, Dr Kaunda and King Mswati III emerged from the house and posed for a photo session in front of Dr Kaunda’s house.
Local and foreign journalists were not allowed to ask questions as they were only allowed to take pictures and video of the two exchanging greetings.
King Mswati is expected to depart for Swaziland today in the evening after concluding his national assignment.
The King was in Zambia to officiate at this year’s 51st independence celebrations to mark the end of the country’s jubilee celebrations.
The Independence Day commemorations that fell yesterday were held under them “Laying the foundation for a smart Zambia, finding forgiveness.”
Meanwhile, President Edgar Lungu has described Zambia’s bilateral talks with visiting King Mswati III of Swaziland as fruitful.
Mr Lungu said the bilateral meetings held with King Mswati during his two days visit to Zambia will greatly spur the two countries’ economic and political potential.
The President, however, said there is need for all Southern African Development Community (SADDC) and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) countries to move at the same level in terms of regional integration.
Mr Lungu said this when he saw off king Mswati III at the Kenneth Kaunda international airport in Lusaka today.
King Mswati was in the country to grace Zambia’s 51st independence anniversary which was held under the theme “Laying the Foundation for a Smart Zambia, finding forgiveness repentance, compassion and love in God”.
The Swazi King left the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport at 18:15 hours aboard an A6-DAS plane with his wife Inkhosikati Lafogiyane.
Minister of Justice, Ngosa Simbyakula, Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba, and Minister of Defence Richwell Siamunene, and senior government officials were at hand to see off the Swazi King.
Defence and security chiefs were also at hand to see off King Mswati III.
King Mswati has failed to move his country forward! He is a huge embarrassment to the young generation! He has squandered his opportunity! He is a weak soul!
