Embattled Radio Icengelo Station manager Fr Frank Bwalya has been fired from the Catholic-owned community radio station.
And Fr Bwalya has accused Government of master minding his removal from the radio station where he had been serving as Station manager in the last eight years.
Speaking live on Radio Icengelo yesterday morning, Fr Bwalya revealed that he received his expulsion letter from Ndola Diocese Bishop, Noel Oregon
Fr Bwalya has also asked Republican President, Rupiah Banda, to step down for allegedly failing to defend the Zambian Constitution.
Fr Bwalya alleged that the MMD approached and requested Bishop Oregan to silence him, but said he was glad that the Church had fired him for telling the truth and speaking for the poor and under privileged in society.
Meanwhile, Fr Bwalya accused Bishop Oregan of heeding to political calls and complaints from the ruling party to fire him from the station over anti-Government remarks he has been making on a bemba Radio Programme called “Uleta Pabwingi Tonaula.”
The Priest who started his address on air with the Zambia National Anthem, refused to give his full message on radio, saying he would only disclose the contents of his information to his followers and the Zambian people in the manner he wanted to and not dictated by the Police.
He added that while the MMD was celebrating his removal from Icengelo, he would stay quiet for three days after which he would rise and fight all the injustices and evils in society.
Fr Bwalya said he would not go anywhere after the expulsion but would continue to serve as a volunteer worker at Icengelo Radio Station were he would be slashing grass, digging pits and clearing the gardens and flowers for free because that is where he belonged.
The Priest said he had been struck by his own people but will arise when the dust settles to ensure that a better Zambia was created in 2011.
He also disclosed that he has no intentions of forming a political party, but would use his organisation, the ‘New Liberation Struggle Change or Die Zambia’ to ensure that a new leader who loves the Zambian people genuinely was put into power in 2011.
Fr Bwalya alleged that President Banda has no genuine love for the Zambian people except for a few evil doers that he was glorifying in his Government, hence the need to vote for a new leader in 2011.
Father Bwalya said he would use his organisation to campaign for a certain leader who would scoop the 2011 Presidential elections.
Fr Bwalya said President Banda must be removed from Office for failing to grant him his constitutional right of freedom of association and assembly.
He said that President Banda had sworn to protect the constitution but the alleged failure to allow him to hold the rally calls for his resignation.
Fr Bwalya called on Government to cut the number of cabinet ministers and abolish the position of deputy ministers to ensure that funds saved from these positions could go to procure drugs and as bursaries to universities.
ZANIS/ENDS/LK/EB
Zambia, Zambia, Zambia…any opposing views are not welcome. This is so unfortunate!
Good riddance! Real men don’t hide behind the pulpit but take their opponents head-on in their social fronts in his case its the political arena. If this mambala has fire in his stomach, let him walk through the political hot Guiderails.Take off Political grooves and charge against him hot in no time as a Politician.
A shrink is needed here ….. don’t use religion as opium of the masses ,come out in the open perhaps your message will be accepted . Seek advise from Dr Nevers Mumba , who painfully learnt it ,the hard way …no one mocks God .
Come clean on your association with the king snake , we may take you seriously …….Religion the opium of the masses
I don’t understand or know why this Priest get the bloggers all worked up, but I think the last sentence of this story is right on the money whether you hate this priest. Zambia is small to have such a big cabinet.
” Fr Bwalya called on Government to cut the number of cabinet ministers and abolish the position of deputy ministers to ensure that funds served from these positions could go to procure drugs and as bursaries to universities.”
I think RB need to address real issues than fight individuals who is helping to be come popular
what?…..Die Zambia! what a choice of an organization from a man of God. Bwana priest, plz names mean a lot.that Die Zambia is evil, period! Secondly, like some blogger pointed out yesterday, you can’t mix politics and religion,it has failed for many centuries just like religion and science.its either you join the likes of pule and nervous or you unite all zambians regardless of their political affiliation on the pulpit.going full political to fight banda and his government will not help you nor the nation,go for some retreat father and seek GOD’S GUIDANCE on the matter.
yebo a suzyo muli uli lelo mwanangwa?ine kalata iyi yanileka waka makola kuno kusilya, stay blessed!!
Tell us the vices and the goodness of the movement that you were under ,who knows you could be a Martin Luther of the 14th century who denounced the monastery with 95 articles, only we want the truth nothing but the truth….. Religion the opium of the masses
wiseman-reborn ,
Karl marx was spot on. In bemba we call such crooks disgraced”mumbimunda”.Humility will give him another day but hatred will only beget him ferocious hatred. Now that he is a street simpleton, I see him meeting serious battles by individual patriots unless he is immortal and insults from another planet .
The Priest has the right to speak for the masses and am glad he stood up to speak for the so many voiceless folks. Yes i totally agree with #5 the cabinet is to big for nothing. Do we really need deputy ministers? And its because of the truth like that that never goes well with tired brains. Why should we have a deputy minister of mines when mines are closing?
Anyway, i would rather stay in the diaspora than go back home and get frustrated. I can’t imagine and withstand watching RB and his AIDS stricken ministers every minute on ZNBC, can end up in Chainama. I will wait for 2011, maybe maybe, God will roll the cards in another direction.
# 8 The words of Karl Marx are true … Religion the opium of the masses. Dan Pule used that and failed , DR Nevers Mumba failed too now Mr Bwalya ( Former priest )
All this is just BS. I could see this coming.
Kinte,
Be assured that nobody needs or will ever miss you in Zambia. Your father was a failure and you would be a liability too with failure if you ever returned. In the first place where do you settle other than returning in your family shabeen? Us who have our properties and potential are returning back home immediately after finishing our programs in school. We are no economic migrants but incoming leaders who should not miscalculate our windows of responsibility. I know when you are hopeless in all fronts, that is the only smart option to settle for.
Good luck.
Fr Bwalya needs psychiatric attention.he is out of sorts.so it is now revealed that he has an agenda to campaign for someone in 2011.he has all the liberties to start campaigning for any candidate of his choice in the next elections but i’d rather advise him to continue with the party he supported in the last elections.i feel pity for Bishop noel oregan, it’s like he has got a band of rogue priests in his diocese.political aspirants, marriage wreckers and some whose colours we haven’t yet known.any Ba bishop well done that clown was tarnishing the image of the church with his personal agendas.send him to mukolwe parish
Zambians, why is it that if a person is in MMD and he or she is a pastor, then politics and church can mix but if such a person holds opposing views, then we shout on top of our voices church and politics cannot mix. Most of you chaps do not understand what the term politics is all about and what it means to have a church government or leadership. Through out the Bible, you will realize that actually it talks about managing peoples affairs both physically and spiritually and when we come to the term politics, its just this simple-managing peoples welfare. so whats the difference between what is being practiced in church and political government? no difference at all. the only thing in Zambia is if a person holds opposing views to you then that person is an enemy. this is a blatant lie
What the politicians have done is to suppress the voices of people to such a level that docility and dormancy as well as keeping the mouth shut are seen as strengths and in line with govt agreements.
People are no longer able to think beyond themselves and this is witchcraft that has entered Zambian peoples minds and its this vice that brings retardation in terms of development as all the people will be deemed enemies of the state if they work otherwise. how can a government have checks and balances if opposing views are seen as potential causes for stabilization of the so called peace since 1964? Do people eat peace on plates or the real peace will be achieved when a persons state of mind, health, social and spiritual are balanced? I think we need to know that we ate PEACE AND STABILITY
# 13 With due respect to you, the simple definition of politics is , The Art of governance( governing people) and being an art , it requires understanding of the cosmopolitan nature human species , complexity and uniqueness ……Which the priest has failed to appreciate ,all he thought was using his position ….religion as the opium of the masses
and we never grew even half of an inch closer to modernity while just across Zimbabwe, they were enjoying and its likely they will start enjoying again because their government has the will to reverse the economic turmoil zim is going thru rite now. do we have such leaders in zambia? no at all. all are just potential jail birds as umulongoti said the other day. lets wake up and tell the devil in govt that enough is enough and we cant eat peace on the mouth but we need policies that are going to translate into reality for us to make money to buy necessities and amenities to contribute to out peace. Kaunda suppressed zambians but zambians rose above so you and i must not sit idle and pretend all is well. other countries have put up economic policies to address the GLOBAL ECO CRUNCH yet we a
yet we are still on the ZUNGULILA mission even praising ourselves that we are a haven for peace, hey wait a moment, how many uprisings since 1964 did you hear in Malawi? probably Tanzania and ever since Nambia got independence did you hear them complain that they dont have peace? go to Botswana and ask if they know not what peace is? theirs is probably the best PIECE of PEACE and not our LIP SERVICE. so lets not hide in peace but remember that other countries are moving ahead in terms of development while we are busy tearing each other apart.
The worst Zambian President we have had is Titus, Jacob ,Fredrick, Mpundu kafupi CHiluba whose identity may require DNA analysis. He was supported by King snake through and through….. He used Religion as the opium of the masses
#15, probably you should change your name to UNWISE . check or google the word politics so that online dictionaries will help you. Any way you like it or not, zambian politics are a joke in the region, yet we want to boast and say we brought democracy, what democracy are u talking about? jailing people for holding opposing views to the ruling party, is that what you call good governance? Tell me, what action is being meted on those who by name called for Bwalyas blood? such are criminal cases which are bookable as soon as possible yet the MMD is going scot free all because of the ANIMAL FARM gimmics
Sad development.
I believe the priest was doing things all by himself without support from the church.
Enlighten me fellow bloggers.Anything wrong with starting an address (especially on radio) with the national anthem like our beloved priest did?
Does corruption bring development King snake and Kafupi are the engineers of this vice……. Kafupi never valued education ,during his TEN solid years of presidency ,he never set foot at UNZA……. Can you develop with out the value of education…….Religion the opium of the masses
#21, dont cheat the masses, i was at UNZA in 1996-1998 when Chiluba came, we welcomed him in the sports hall.
so Mr Nkunda which constitution are you advocating when you ask the sitting president to step down from office just after 5 moths since he was elected?
sir you are just a power hungry individual who just want to use the uneducated zambians to gain that power.
#22 I was at Medical school by then …… Though I do remember Kafupi visiting UNZA , either great east rood campus or Ridge way campus.
The posting in #25 should read …. Though I do not remember Kafupi visiting either Great east road campus nor Ridge way campus. if he did , might have done so incognito perhaps wanting to spot a young female student….typical of his behavior
Prepare for hard times ahead.
elo lwanya manje… let me read the story first…
The message he was to relay sounds nice though he must understand that the bemba presidential candidate in his favour also failed us in kafupi government… so one wonders what new ideas he has now when he even faught for kafupi s third term bid…
Father Bwalya just be bold enough and say you want SATA in 20 11. Why should you judge Banda as a bad leader for the mere 5 months he has been ín power. Are you a true Christian? It seems it hurts you that Mr Banda – who is not a Bemba – is in power.
The King Snake in his many forms of disguise and insatiable desire for plot one has been unearthed , we need young thinkers and not snakes to rule this country ….. we can not contain their venom ……… Religion the opium of the masses
I am very surprised to see a lot of people expressing ignorance or is it silliness when they live in countries where people are free to say anything without retribution. Priest or not any Zambian should be allowed to express their view without fear. That is why most of you are afraid to put your real names on the post because you are cowards. Viva Father Bwalya
Father is just exploiting the OPIUM OF THE PEOPLE – RELIGION
I have never seen a Zambian called Wiseman only a Jew, and in most cases Jews are smart.
This was a good move on the part of the catholic authorities. The father had significantly digraced in the form and manner of his critcism. He began to acquire characteristicsof a Zambian politian. Who feels the only time you are seen to be serious is when you insult or use deragotory language. In this instance thumbs up to the authorities in Ndola. He must go back to the seminary and be re-oriented into the manner of christianity. He must learn a few lessons from this.I wish him well and hope he will learn from this.
I think people are confounding issues here. Radio Ichengelo is owned by the Roman Catholic Church for a specific purpose. It was never meant to be a political platform for priests with political ambitions no matter how good their political views are. We could have a manager of a hotel using the hotel brochures as conduits for political propaganda, or a mine manager, or a school head teacher… where does it end? Render to Caesar what belongs to Caesar. This means put everything in its context. Perhaps he should join the Real IRA branch in Zambia and call it ZRA. His view on abolishing Deputy Ministers is in the PF manifesto. The people voted and rejected it. In a democracy he should accept that the policy was not accepted by the voters.
He is a former student of Rasputin the most evil monk……..Religion the opium of the masses
“the ‘New Liberation Struggle Change or Die Zambia” Another clegyman turns into a prophet of doom. Nevas Mumba also predicted doom if UNIP was voted out of power. Why is it that there are people who decry their country all the time? Zambia is not what it could be, granted but Zambia is not what it was either! I have visited thrice over a period of 20 years and each time, I have noted considerable progress. It is like growth of a child. Those who see the child every day may not appreciate that he is growing. But those who come to see the child five years later wonder at the change! I would prescribe a dose of international travel for every Zambian, to help with some attitudes. I denounce complacency as much as discontentment.
Folks enjoy blogging ……. I have to catch some sleep now.
Father Bwalya, I am appealing to you to stick to God’s work. Politics is not good for men of God. Ask Nevers Mumba and Gladys Nyirongo
The Bishop is only following the Instructions contained in the Clauses of Can. 139 and 141 by Pope Leo XII of 1882 that forbids priests from “throwing themselves into quarrels” with political parties in a way that gives the impression that they are taking more interest of the world than advancement of the Kingdom of God. The Catholic Church is not Political but can take keen interst in the SOCIAL RIGHTS OF PEOPLE. “The Clergy are forbiden to misuse the authority for purely political purpose with a view to favouring any political party.” Therefore if the Rt Hon Bishop found that the Fr was becoming political he had every right to correct the situation in order to preserve the good name of the Church.
Father Bwalya
Freedom of expression does not mean fredom to insult or slander people. Your freedom ends where my nose begins.
che gwevera, note that whether those pastors that support MMD or the priest that seems to be for PF, fo pipo like me feel that the church shud not be the hiding place fo political hidden agendas…..to be continued.
Imwe naimwe naka OPIUM. Did you just find out about the word? New word in your vocabulary. Iyo nalunya. OPIUM of the masses, opium of the masses. You cannot find another word? You are just using a word that has no substance and has never been proved to be like wise. Why don’t you address real issues? Ukushishita. Banoko pa ZED balele isala, Fr. Bwalya wants to speak on her behalf but because you have learned a new word, you have to attack him with it. Do you know how dictatorships operate? Ask RB. He was one of those who championed the term, “The Party and its Government” and the “One Party Participatory Democracy”. So, watch what you wish for. It might be granted. Once people start losing the rights, next they lose their freedoms, then they lose their lives.
I am missing a point here!
Can someone enlighten me please? Has he been fired as a Priest or he has just been removed from the radio station and redeployed elsewhere?
father bwalya nakalipa, they have fired him
#44, Yezgani mwana wakwithu, ukumanya church history iwe? uji eluzye wamwana. Mwana mudoko, ndopa zaka zichili waka wamwana
I think we have a Bishop in Ndola who is in bed with MMD. Bishop De Jong (MHSRIP) let Fr. Umberto to use Icengelo and other Catholic press to rally people against the misdeeds of KK. Bishop De Jong will be missed by thousands suffering masses in Zambia. Lets hope firing Fr Bwalya will create employment on the CB. Unfortunately you have just added one more person to the employment list. Firing Bwalya will not solve the plight of the suffering masses. What was the IG doing on the CB if not to ferment and dictate the way things are going. Soon you will see Thai Solution happening in Zambia. Watch what is coming soon. MMD is silencing people but cannot provide solutions. What nonsense is that?
Thank you Bishop oregan for romoving that impostor from the radio station.his filth agenda is not compartible with the catholic principles.radio icengelo was set up for the purporse of the church to reach out to the community socially and spiritually and not to be hijacked by an overzealous priest in pushing his and his inept masters agendas.when the catholic church want to speak on any vice they deem as an injustice to the people.all the bishops of zambia meet under the auspices of ZEC and they issue what is called a pastoral letter which points out these vices and in a civilsed manner condemns it that they deem is an injustice perpetrated by govermnet and it has been effective as always when it is issued you find goverment on it’s defense.
10.wiseman-reborn says: The man is not Mr. unless you just want to call him Mr. His still Fr. he has been suspended of his falculties to practice the priesthood, but has just been fired from the radio station. “14CHE GUAVARA i do agree with you many of these othercountries within our region and other outside have enjoyed peace as much as we have and in other cases even better than ours yet for us all the time we keeping on speaking of Zambia being the haven of peace. Our friend have been progresing yet us we keep on lagging behind hiding in the haven of peace. LPM worked and all could see his good works yet RB has been failing. And so far he has managed to remove Fr.Bwalya just as his trying to close the POST. But for it he can only find evidence against himself being given 4 free like VJ
As much as he has valid points,he has to re-think on the “DIE ZAMBIA” clause/part.That is seriously inviting bloodshed. Most people on the copperbelt are illiterate or under-educated and moreover they have lost their jobs.telling them to “change or DIE ZAMBIA” is just the perfect detonator+fuel to make them explode.Bloggers you will remember these my words.
point of CORRECTION due to typing error on my earlier statement. Fr. Bwayla HAS NOT BEEN FIRED AS A PRIEST, in other words not susupeded from his falcuties of practicing the priesthood. He has ONLY been fired from the Radio station. that is also to answer
#45 Bafunakumipoka chintu chanu
LT cant you get first hand infor. He is stil a priest. He should be transferrd to Radio maria in chipata.
I enjoyed Fr miha’s interview yesterday. I love the level headedness and open mindedness of this fr may God continue blessing you and all the priests. Amen
New word on LT – OPIUM. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Guys, please. What grades are you again? OPIUM Eeeeeeeh, pplease. You should understand that when things are not going the right way and people are facing hardships, religion becomes the shelter. Not an Opium. It was a metaphor. The word masses is used to denote the suffering and the under privileged which in real context are the larger population. It is not used to denote people being drugged by religion or any such sort. Bwalya has seen what is going on in Zambia and has seen that the people have no voice. It happened in Poland by Lech Walesa, Che Guevara did the same. The elite will in most cases try to silence such people. Let me ask you this, who will speak for the people in Zambia? Times of Zambia? Daily Mail? Or you think RB cares?
I am happy that one man can come out in the open and stand up! even when there is non one on his side. Bravo Father Bwalya
20# Zed
Only the president when addressing on Radio or Tv should start with a national anthem. The Vice President and any cabinet ministers they just use other tradition songs.
RB mukali alishamo ba Noel Oregon
FAR Q
You can’t be any closer to the point like this.the guy is truly a detonator and just as you rightly say our coleagues in the copperbelt
Are hooligan infected and lack the basic understanding as to when they are been used or not.a guy who preaches hate like in his position is a danger to society.an silly enough there are slopy minded people who want to make us believe this guy has been silenced.in zambia today any one can say what he or she wants you can even stand on an anthill and shout your lungs out if it has pained you beyond limits and no one will harass you but even the freedom of speech it’self has got confines.
He has been removed as staion manager. He should be transfered to shangombo as a parish priest for some church in shangombo….Those people need more material and spiritual help than doing the dirty work for Cobra …
Sata+Fr Bwalya+Mmembe = PF+Catholic Church+Post = Satan+Evil
#56 You are right only the head of state is allowed to use the national anthem before addressing the public. Am totally appalled that the IG even allowed that to happen when he was there. This is pure and simple treason. The law need to visit this priest. Basically he was saying am the head of state by using the national anthem. Only coup plotters do that. This man has broken the law and we need to make sure he faces the music for mocking our system and thinking he can get away with this. NO ONE ELSE IS ALLOWED TO USE THE NATIONAL ANTHEM before addressing the nation period., apart from the HEAD of STATE. Does this priest think he is a HEAD of STATE. THAT IS TREASON!!! May the police institute treason charges on him soon. BOMA NI BOMA my friend. OSA SOBELA NA BOMA UZAKAMBA KOSOGOLO TIYE
Che Guevara, I support your postings…..to say that religion and politics do not mix is the worst nonsense any empty head could come up with. If as a priest or preacher, the message you give to your people does not worry their corrupt rulers, then know that what you’re preaching is worthless. Christ was a constant thorn to the rulers (both political and religious) and he paid the ultimate price. So don’t give us the tired BS of “politics and religious not mixing” stuff, only empty heads can come up with that and only fools can believe it.
Without a vission people die like any other animal
Ba Head-boy, former Kitwe Boys Head-boy. If you join politics expect this Ba Head-Boy. Now that you are a politician soldier on. This is the game. We know which “certain leader” Bembas support. But that certain leader is more tainted than any person that has ever stood for presidency in Zed. He has blood on his hands.
Goodmorning bloggers.
Let me gather my confused thoughts first before posting my comments on this controversial matter.
I am sick and tired of brother Bwalya making headlines
atase
Fuma apa Father
This BEMBA man called Bwalya is PF FULLSTOP. He was hiding behind the pulpit pretending to be a a man of God. Now that the church also has gotten rid of him we will see his real colours..
Leave RB alone just come out in the open & SUPPORT your edging bemba brother.
Now that Mother Bwalya has been deservedly fired i hope we talk about more prudent people in the society
naya muku baza nomba mwe
There nothing as painful as to be fired.
Ba fr will split sata’s cb support base, sata becareful, u may just be dribled, any atleast he seems abit more sober than the cobra, he may make a better devil. But am not ready2 be part of the die zambia blood stained idea.
What nonsense are we witnessing in this country, where is the rule of law,are we surely equal before the law in this great country? We need not to celebrate the firing of the priest.only people who are so myopic and unpatriotic will sing songs of joys.So that was the one hour discussion RB had with the preist in Munga,we thought they were discussing critical issues affectin the nation.RB should surely stop being petty.Poeple who have committed serious crimes are not even being investigated by the security wings, and others can just be investigated.Look at Mubanga who was threatening violence,Dr Mwanaumo,Kande,Mabenga the list is endless. It is this vindictive and double standard behavour being potrayed by the MMD that is frightenig us.What has happened to the poor priest might happen to you…
If his cause is genuine, I presume he will be back on the scene as he himself predicts. Otherwise, with the world moving at the present pace, he will soon be erased and forgotten. End of chapter one.
A revolution will not alwayz be televised, the man was just trying to air his own views. This country has no democracy at all.A state that suppresses all freedom of speech, and which by imposing the most terrible punishments, treats each and every attempt at criticism, however morally justified, and every suggestion for improvement as plotting to high treason, is a state that breaks an unwritten law.
the whole idea is brilliant and so much appreciated BUT the approach is scary!nde umfwa umwenso ine! “DIE ZAMBIA” zoona kwati te ba-priest sure!
I am surprised he has not been charged with anything. Did he beak the law? Is he a threat? If this man broke the law, arrest him. If he is not arrested, then there is something wrong as is always the case. Talk about democracy in Africa! Let alone rule of law! Nine Chale shani mune? Barca nalelo mune. Mwapya!
I now believe the man is just another of King Cobra’s schemes.
So this ka man began his radio address with a national anthem.some people can be ambitious.what about the flag he didnt mount any?2011 will be very interesting
Who does this so called Fr Bwalya think he is? Anyways, am sure PF will offer him a job soon and he wont have to slash at the radio grounds for long. Its good riddance, i was actually getting fed up with is quacking, whining and groaning…Get a Life!
ADVISE TO BWEZANI AND HIS FOLLOWERS -GOOD LEADERS NEVER FIGHTS WITH PEOPLE THAT CRITICISE THEM, INSTEAD THEY WORK HARD TO SHAME THEM. JUST LIKE LEVY DID, HE NEVER FAULT, THEY CALLED HIM A CABBAGE,BUT INSTEAD TRIED TO IMPROVE OUR CONTRY’S ECONOMY” THAT’S BEING A GOOD LEADERS. not ivi ve vichitika who ever say anything against the gov it becomes an issue.
Thank you 71, 33 and 14………………………………………………..Some people should really be ashamed of thier irrelevant comments! people perish because of lack of knowledge…When somebody speaks, especially for the masses that are voiceless and they get silenced, there is something their. If this man never touched anything sensitive and true, RB would not have been threatend. I am catholic but i am trully sick of these dogmas and political foundation behind it..If the priest was white, he probably wouldnt have been fired coz all he did was air his views?. isnt he a citizen? isnt he entitled to his opinion even about the leaders and the government? Please RB focus on important issues and stop behaving like Apathied leaders that silenced anyone who challenged them..!!
Yes 3RqU, ndi bwino boyi. How was your long weekend? Klinsi ali mucibe, lesson nambala 2 lelo. Elo balitumpa kuno, they’re not even showing it on free-TV like last time pantu nabeshiba na outcome abene. So I’ll be off to search for Primiere/Sports Channel ku Biergarten.
I think Bwalya makes a lot of sense to me, these are the topics we all fault Banda with and for one, cannot understand why the hurry to silence him. Banda is a vengeful man, ask Magande or Sata.
When FTJ was in power, most Luapulan lumpens accused those accusing him of being a stinker of being mad. Did you see how fast “ba kumawa” turned round to claim Bwalya “ndi galu ya chiwewe – Bwalya is a rabid dog?” Sad to see Bembas and Nyanjas tearing each other apart like this, even right before the Lozi King whe Banda claimed Sata’s aducation is “too little”.
#80 Miss Daisy word up,thats a good thinking, thats some pure exhibition of ditactorship by our government, no freedom of speech.
Well, I think that Sata and Banda, especially Banda, should stop stearing Zambia into the gutter, it stinks there awe sure. Maybe its about time people started looking at other options outside these two dry, urgly and tainted lumpens for political solutions.
Fr Frank Bwalya is doing God’s will and should be supported by all Christians in this country. The MMD officials should not be scared of those who are critising constructively as this is what democracy is all about. Fr Bwalya is just one of us who are disgusted by the way this country is being run and the number of job losses being experienced on the copperbelt. It is high time we woke up because there is no reason for retrenching miners at this time.
Oweeee chabipa ba ndume. He will join the street loiters, kabovas and the kolovela’s. Did he think the whole catholic diocese in Zambia were behind him?… Now its going solo.. Sole William.. jobless.
Father Bwalya is expected to be a man of God by virtue of his title.
It is amazing that his language is so bad, when he is supposed to preach respect, love, and morals.
Opposing views doesn’t mean that you have to belittle, insult and slander other people.
If you beat people in oder to condemn them for beating other people, you are no different from them for you have approved of what they did.
You can still correct and condemn worngs in a better way than to be disrespectful, insultative and arrogant.
Father Bwalya must learn from other people, and it is sad that now he extends his disrespect to his catholic leaders by saying they cant think on their own but can only act under the influence of MMD. Such is disregard for leadership, even within his own circles, the Catholic.
Some of you are so quick to criticise Fr. Bwalya yet you barely know what he has been fighting for. The problem with Zambians is that we complain so much but do nothing and when somebody stands up to claim his fundamental rights, people are are up in arms. Please listen to Fr. Bwalya’s interview on the Zambian Economist website and you will realise that the man speaks sense! Even Prophets in the Bible spoke against rulers who did wrong and it did not mean that they necessarily had political ambitions or were hiding behind the “pulpit”. Viva Father Bwalya!
FR chilinda the sober parish priest of ST ignatius is amaged by the stunts of his coleague Former icengelo station manager and ipusukilo parish priest Fr fank Bwalya.
Folks Fr Bwalya is a hero. We need 10 guys of this nature. No partisan and staunt. Can you imagine that the govt has mobilized 4000 cops just to keep an eye on one character. Mmmmm!! typical. All matters directly proportional and provided they speak boldly like Fr Bwalya, this scared govt would actually mobilize 40,000 cops for 10 such characters. VIva Bwalya!!!! and ABASH bishop fimo fimo. Chaps who hide under the pulpit. Leave Bwalya alone hypocrites. he is the the mouth piece of the poor like late Teza Nchinga MHSRIP, Ngande mwanajidi before he joined politics. Zed needs Fr Bwalya believe me
Amaaaaaaaaaaaaaazed
Nine Chale even here games played on Wednesdays are not on ITV(free). They are on Sky Sports. Enjoy. Father yazanda! Chacine Boma ni Boma. Kulantinya ine ku Africa iwe!
#84 …..is that you “GHOST DOG”? i guess so coz the bro is ever serious-looking…..like yo style bro!…..and about Fr Bwalya, the dude is right BUT his approach is ALL WRONG….I hate violence but I love it if its me doin tha a**kicking.
Bloggers be careful. RB is just trying to divert people’s attention from real issues. What can one individual do by himself? This Fr. Bwalya is being made by RB for RB to divert attention from key cases involving Dora Siliya, FRA, Chiluba and the likes. RB would rather you spend time talking about Fr. Bwalya and his rantings and lose sight of the true fight against corruption. Open your eyes. Tomorrow it will be Mmembe, the next day Nchito and so on and yet time is flying. Before you know it it is 2011 and the same old story will be back.
#94 wasup Far-Q, yep Ghost Dog has gone Digital Smoke, something that cant be touched no more ,from Ghost to Smoke. Thanks Far-Q for loving ma style, much love and respect to you, stay well!
Ola Digital smoke— interesting name by the way… You must be in Digital world like me…I totally concur with your comment on #73…Its really sad that we preach democracy and never practice it..Elections rigged, opposition posters..ati remove them but RB’s ones still up… Some bodys something ..fired!!..

Viva father Bwalya. All of you sleepy and cowards leave him alone. You are used to having your rights infringed upon.
#37, and #44, the Saint – your posts are right on… LT bloggers tend to mar issues and remove them completely from their context to delude themselves into believing anything they are fed by the Post et al. The Post in particular would do well to rediscover the tenets of responsible journalism, which their editorials have been seriously lacking. Freedom of speech comes with the responsibility of objectively sharing with your readers issues of concern to them, rather than engaging in petty defamatory bickering simply to provoke reactions from the people they insult. People like arguing for freedom of expression, but wait for a day when your reputation is slung through the mud by people who simply don’t like you, then we’ll see whether you’ll be singing the same tune.
OH! N’GANDE MWANAJITI,where is this guy.stuntmen will never finish on the zambian scene.this guy realy took us for a ride. as usual just like the fellow conman FR bwalya they always pretend to be speaking for the poor masses yet they have targets .he realy gave goverment a torid time and we endeared with him not knowing that the con was just using his AFRONET as a political launch pad.
As fate is always with conmen he miscalculated his fame, jumped on the political bandwagon unfortunately he missed it and boarded the one destined for the archives.WHERE IS HE,SOMEBODY KNOWS PLZ?
“Last kicks of a dying horse” is what someone said. Congratulations Bishop Oregon for this good work.
On “Meanwhile, Fr Bwalya accused Bishop Oregan of heeding to political calls and complaints from the ruling party to fire him from the station over anti-Government remarks he has been making on a bemba Radio Programme called “Uleta Pabwingi Tonaula.”” the father Bwalya should just concentrate on his self-imposed planned punishment of digging holes and doing gardening.
On “Father Bwalya said he would use his organisation to campaign for a certain leader who would scoop the 2011 Presidential elections” is he God to determine the outcome of the upcoming elections? Does he even know whether he will still be alive then?
Thank God real motives are now being seen by all Zambians.
Boma ni Boma ! Bamupoka imikate uyu shimapepo ! What is this man’s agenda dear bloggers ?
Why are bloggers rushing to accuse RB of masterminding Fr Bwalya’s dismissal as a result of pure SPECULATION? Whatever your qualms with the Government, use discretion in your receipt of information from both sides of this propaganda war, rather than being quick to believe everything you’re told by the Post and its followers without any evidence. There are valid reasons for the Catholic Church’s dismissal of the Father, separate from his issues with RB. Sometimes just think before posting anything just for the sake of finding yet another thing to attack RB for, sheesh. It’s just starting to look ridiculous. There are many posturing as victims of this propaganda war, pretending to be holy and righteous while casting RB as some sort of dictator and evil menace when they bear the blame…
Frank Bwalya is nothing but a disgruntled fellow hiding in the church. He uses the poor as bet to to his political maneuvers. Frankly we have had honest priests like Fr De jong who objectively criticized and advised Govt. But Frank has publicly been insulting those in power and calling our laws rotten. He even has the audacity to talk about RB’s marriage on radio. Please! Of what benefit is RB’s marriage to the poor? Bwalya has been inciting violence among his Kaponya audience. He is nothing but a PF cadre
2Wice once sang ” Bashimapepo bambi ni ba punka, bena balomba fye isha mutulo…”
PHARISEE NOT FATHER
He is a PHARISEE. Please he is and has never been a Priest to be called Father Bwalya.
I still maintain that Fr Frank Bwalya is a man of God and a true christian who should be given credit by christians. I am however not expecting everybody to do that because it is not easy to understand the teaching of the bible for those who are not christians..
Abakali bakali. This father is great and a force to reckon with. You don’t have to be a politician to point out that Zed ileya ilepwa nga Geisha. The chap is still a Father and still has a church. He was only removed from the post of Station Manager. No rush, he is still around. Watch him, remember it is his constitutional right to comment on issues pa Zed. like it or not he is a force to recken with. Not imwe bangwele. Umwenso kwati ni nkoko. Mule chimona. The rule of law is the name of the game. Once arrested and charged but released for lack of concrete case. It has happened to Mmembe before. Hey !!!! like this.
I must say I salute most people who have contributed on the tittle of this thread. Its rare to have Zambians agreeing almost in totality against someone who was against government. The trend usually is that Zambians tend to support anyone who is against government even if that person is wrong just because they hate government. We should denounce a wrong doing wherever its source is. Personally I have a lot of reservations and complaints about the work done so far by R.B and his government. It would be unwise to praise them because we are suffering and every average Zambian is feeling the pinch. However, what people like Fr. Bwalya are doing is not right either. Its dangerous to incite people like that. Lets not make this country ungovernable. The same advice applies to M`embe.
Starting an address with the National Anthem is a violation on the constitution. The anthem is a serious thing, not even in US or Europe can you do that. I don’t have any problems in Bwalya saying whatever he wants. But if he wants to be a polilitician or support Sata, let him come up in the open.
Why are Shrek & MMD so afraid of this priest. Just mention that he will hold a press conference, they were all over protesting & threatening even before they heard what he had to say! People what r u so afraid of? What is it you have done that you do not want the citizens to know? The guilty r afraid, the innocent r worried. If the MMD were clean, they would have had nothing to fear & would have allowed him hold his press conference without the threats. Go Fr. Bwalya, play your part in the history of this great nation, posterity will gudge you
PF lunatics, I’m not surprised! This Priest is delusional, no one is trying to silence him! As station manager of a community radio station, he’s supposed to be impartial and the church is right in removing the bloke. Let him now openly campaign for Sata and trust me, no one will bother him. He’s a bit of a lumpen and consumed with vanity & self importance, claiming he’ll be slashing grass and digging pits at the station premises LOL, I think he smokes the same stuff that Chilufya Sata smokes (the herb!)
how many people on this blog have been to the copperbelt or have a good understanding of whats happening there. We have townships where more than 90% of the workers r miners. do you know what that entails there is a big problem and RB has not even gone to CB to dialogue. Even obama was going to towns which have been affectld by high rate of job losses.we talk about boosting economy in general, without getting on the ground talking about the specifics of how we r going to help the mining communities. Yes its global effects but Govt has to take more initiative, so just because its happening world over then no one should point a finger at GRZ. These pipo have no voice its a fact, when a man losses his job u expect him to just say oh well..its global financial crunch?
Hats off to Bishop O’regan. Good riddance MWEBANTU. Don’t hide behind the pulpit to foster your political ambitions. Come out in the real political world like Nevers and Randy Pule. Bloggers constituitional rights aside – why should a priest form a pressure group against the government?, why should a priest hold a publice rally?, and why should a priest show such partisan politics before his flock to an extent of announcing that he has some leader in mind. The clergy is there to give support to these politicians when they are on the right track and also to give them direction when they are in the wrong. And not where it is visible to everyone that “aba bena ma politics aya ‘. Moreover this chap was just turnishing the good image of our catholic church. What was his problem? Good…
Reading comments from most bloggers here , it is clear to me that many of the bloggers have not had a chance to listern to to the priest’s program on Radio Icengelo. People have lost jobs over the past months due to the effects of the credit crunch not necessarily due to Banda’s mis rule like the priest suggests in his radio programs! We do not need to mislead the already frastrated people for the sake of changing leadership! His rally was without doubt going to fester into a riot, but who would benefit from that? Why a rally anyway? unlike the rally, Radio Icengelo is able to reach the entire copperbelt popolation!
#116 continued its the fault of the government that such people r taking advantage of the people and the financial crisis, because epo ama mines started closing why did the president not just humble himself and hear the grievances of these people, just to show that the government is on their side, thats what a good l eader should do! otherwise you get pipo like comrade fr bwalya here trying to stir things up! imagine what difference it makes that the president takes time just to dialogue with these miner na bena BANTU THEY HAVE FEELINGS TOO MWE BANTU N THEY NEED SOME MORALE BOOSTER.
#119 i meant the president should have visited and met with these miners who have lost their jobs and dialogue with them
First of all even if you do not agree with this father If you are a patriotic zambian you must agree with him on substance. Its his right to express his feelings about his country. Let the people denounce and dismiss him instead of using instrument of power to shut him up.We put people in power so that they can protect us from enemies and not to stop us from thinking or be afraid to express our thoughts. Its a shame and people like vice president who is a respect legal mind must resign or lose credibility. Come on zambia we are better than that. This man has not done anything that warrants this treatment.
Armed Gunman, Rev Danny Pule blended in politics and religion without anyone pointing a finger because he was one of them. Fr Bwalya is being called names because he has chosen to speak for the voiceless majority and because he is not one of them.
Lest I forget, LT – my earlier comment has been awaiting moderation for the past 1 hour. May I know where and who the moderator is?. Ya Shani?
Mwana Lisa Syndrome i love you.You always talk sense.
121 You are right, even though I’m sure father, brother Bwalya’s intentions r not the best and may be intended to cause confusion, the govt has no right to shut him up yes they can warn people to be objective but untill and unless he breaks the law that can be quoted/ cited in a court of law freedom of speech should not be trampled upon. This is how its starts, people may support GRZ this time because we cn see ulterior motive behind the fr moves but we r allowing it to become a trend before we know it we won’t be able to say ANYANDULE in the streets of LSK
The problem is that, LT just “cuts and pastes” information from other government/ non government media, making what was aired corrupt with errors. If you would love to comment genuinely on this matter, get first hand information first. Father bwalya is still a Catholic priest. He is not affilliated to any political party. The change or die hard movement you people are talking about is currently not headed by father bwalya. Father bwalya has full support from the Roman catholic church because of his stance to speak out for the people affected by the prevailing type of governance. The bishop’s decission to drop father bwalya from being the station manager has been highly criticised by his fellow priests within the Roman catholic church. The bishop has been urged to be couragious and not…
This government of dictators. They want to silence everyone. Enough is enough!
One needs alot of patience to filter through some of the blogs and get any sense. I have come to 4 conclusions.
1: If you are a priest only sing praise for incumbents and everything is ok.
2: Freedom of Speech and Democracy mostly exist when give praises Zambia and you declare yourself a politician.
3: Only true freedom of expression lies in the world wide web as can be seen by the blog posts here.
4: Start a website for free and be heard. The Zambian police force wont catch up with you.

The Bishop has been advised not to just be giving in to the pressures from the government, by the Catholic Diocese of Ndola treasurer general Father Augustine Mwewa. He was further on urged to copy the late Bishop denis’ Spirit of standing firm for the under privalleged in society. On the other hand, Bishop Duffy ( Mongu Dioces) urged Fr Bwalya to take courage and remain steadfast in respect of his principles because the country needed principled people like him. Duffy said this, shortly after a private meeting with President Bandawhich was arranged by MMD national chairman Michael Mabenga and provincial minister Adonis Mufalali, when the president went for Kuomboka Ceremony.
We do not have a country if what is only good to hear are praises for the MMD. Any oppossing views are held in contempt, like in this case. What was the purpose for the national indaba if it cannot take on board divergent but pragmatic opinions? Ma rubisi!
Chewe, chilishani?
#127 Akon- Read 42. In addition I would register my disappointment with the attitude of the MMD(or ist still so phisically?). All the reasons which lead us to remove KK are still there if not worse. Am dislusioned to the extent of wanting to resign from being Zambian/African. Imagine- I asked my sister’s neighbour in one the shanty towns why she has to demonstrate against any one deemed anti MMD, she told me that at least she is assured of a 50pin at the end of the demo. I was shocke at the which Chiluba has reduced our people-make them poor and use money to use them. Even ambulances he had to “buy” them himself for the hospitals to ensure total loyaty and servitude from the empovershed masses. Yet this money was from our TAXES. It became Eldorado to support MMD at all costs.
Baby C ndakufwila nshilala pali iwe.
Poverty is the parent of revolution,Whoever can conquer the street will one day conquer the state, for every form of power politics and any dictatorship-run state has its roots in the street.Father bwalya you are the voice that awakes those who sleeping from the slumber so as to bear witness to the power in Numbers.I wish he was tonga so that Maestro could support him.We both know tha no real social change has ever been brought about without a revolution – revolution is but thought carried into action, viva FATHER BWALYA
Baby C mwana..ati bwanji…naukwata na ba potential pa blog….hmmmm..tabalala ??
Stop don’t be too apprehensive. Even in the bible chaps were too scared thinking Jesus was gonna takeover governments. They were missing the point. just like some chaps and goons are on this LT blog. Chaps don’t understand the pain a poor miner is going thru. In Zed 2day so long as things are going well for you and your family ,its all smile chabe!!!. Hang on dudes just a little bit longer now. Fr bwalya never spoke for old sata rather the chap was full of sense, speaking for the masses. Beyond politics every one nodded his activities and his standpoint. Don’t lose your heads whats bad is bad.
Fr Bwalya nacipwa. You didn’t know that the radio did alot for you to be heard. How old are you? Kadansa was a very speaker in the 80s in front of the Lusaka main post office, he never got anywhere! You want to be a groundsman at Icengelo, Sata wont see you for interviews and he will not bother. Imwe batata you need to rediscover yourself. You abused your privileges. Do not confuse rights with privileges.
What has happened to Fr Bwalya is what is happening in PF.
When MPs cant respect leadership and follow PF rules, Sata fires them.
The same with the Fr Bwalya, he could neither respect the national leadership nor his Catholic leadership. He could neither follow nor obay the regulations of the Catholic conduct. He got fired.
There is no need for Viva for him, though people are still free to Viva him.
Wherever Sata is, he must be saying “even me I was going to fire this man”.
As if that was not enough, he belittles his own leaders of not being capable to think or make decisions on their own accord.
It is clear that Fr Bwalya has no regard for leadership whether at national or at church level.
Sata has not said much over him because he knows that there was violation of conduct.
I absolutely support Father Bwalya cause at the same time i dont concur with him playing the nation anthem before the programme…yapa paradi lol…
#122 Monalisa fimo fimo: My contention on Fr Bwalya’s stand is the way he is using the church, particularly radio Icengelo. I agree with you, yes, he might be talking for the masses but as a man of God there are better ways through which such could be channeled and definately not going to an extent of forming a pressure group whose name has some “tuma” connotation of bloodshed. And Randy Pule just came out in the open and joined politics without hiding behind the pulpit.
Miss Daisy, how are you my ka good friend! ala chewe nshamukwatila amashiwi!
Life in Zambia quiet interesting think the way you feel [-x
The National Anthem belongs to all zambians. MMD used to sing it at all their rallies in the ’90s & yet there was no Kaunda at those meetings. VJ at one of these rallies had the audecity to even say ‘ the national anthem doesnt belong to Kaunda!’ . Most meetings in the villages where politicians make presentations start with the national anthem. The fact that Fr. Bwalya started with the national athem should not be an issue at all. Please allow Fr. Bwalya to exercise his right as a citizen to speak freely on national issues. U people in the diaspora have no idea what is really at play in Zambia so get off your high horses pls & dont judge Fr. Bwalya lest u be judged harshly yourselves.
Point of correction LT “RADIO ICENGELO FIRES STATION MANAGER FR. FRANK BWALYA”
Otherwise you are misleading the bloggers with your headline
If Bwalya dies, it is Nyama Soya and those powerful sangomas Mushini Wami Zuma brought to exorcise Mbezeni of vibanda vake! One of which landed on his first wife killing her instantly, now they are directly one powerful one to land on Bwalya mwaiche wa kamina!

VIVA Father Bwalya!!!!
ali tumpasana priest uyu fyakwe
A Catholics primary allegiance is to the Pope. Father Bwalya insults the President. The President complains to his ‘consulate’ and Bwalya’s paymasters punish him. If he was a diplomat he would have been recalled because he has entangled himself in ‘civilian’ affairs. Cardinal O’Connor in UK criticized the Blair govt for going to war against Iraq, but it was the policy he criticized not the person. Father Bwalya has consistently attacked the person of the President, using the same language as the secular Post That is not only wrong but unbiblical too. The powers that be are God ordained. Satanism is anarchy (AN = no, ARCHY = ruler)
‘Fired’ not demoted, no point in clingign on to ‘dig trenches. There should be people already on those roles
#18 CHE, YOU MUST HAVE LOST YOUR MABLES IF YOU ARE PRAISING ZIMBABWE. JUST CHECK THIS BLOGG. YOU WILL SEE THAT ZIMBABWE IS ASKING ZAMBIA FOR MONEY. I HOPE WE GIVE THEM NOTHING. THIS WOULD BE THE THIRD TIME TO SPEND MONEY ON THEM. WE SPENT A BOMB ON THEIR INDEPENDENCE STRUGGLE AND SPENT A MILLIONS ON THEM DURING THE FEDERATION TO BUILD HARARE. REMEMBER CHE, ZIMBABWE HAS NEVER SPENT A DIME ON ZAMBIA AND THEY STILL OWE US US$70MILLION FOR THE KARIBA SOUTH BANK POWER STATION, WHICH THEY HAVE FAILED TO PAY UP TO NOW. MR. CHE, I ACCEPT THAT YOU ARE IGNORANT, THAT IS WHY YOU PRAISE ZIMBABWE’S LEADERS, WHILE YOU INSULT YOUR OWN COUNTRY . WAKE UP FROM HATRED OF RUPIA AND SEE THE TRUTH.
Zambians should never forget that the only civil war we have ever had was started by a clergy woman called ALICE (Regina (Latin for Queen) Bembalised to LESHINA) BWALYA!!! Could Father Bwalya be carrying the same genes? Can someone check his genome whether he also comes from Chinsali.
Fathe Bwalya has pipo up in arms, on their toes, running for their money. This is good, let the Man of God be a voice for the voiceless. Just becoz you speak for those who cant speak for themselves dont mean you want to be a policitian. Some one has to make our Govt jump and listen to the pipo, who better than Father Bwalya? Our Govt needs someone to put pressure on them and from the look of things Father Bwalya is making the right noises. Look at how everyone is on edge including RB??? In zed anyone who tells the truth is an enemy of the state, this is different from all the Pules and them. Let the man form a pressure group, he is within his rights….. “Let the man talk and the govt listen”
Its nice to see a church person speaking for the masses for once. Often times pastors and priests concentrate on donations etc. Its a shame that some of you bloggers say the guy should not use the church for politics. If the church that claims to fight for the poor does not fight for the poor who will? I hear so many church goers saying leaders are given by God, God would never put a man such as RB in power who cares nothing for the poor people.
Religion is not about standing behind the pulpit every sunday in designer suits, just telling stories. Its about opening your eyes and seeing that the congregation does not have food, better schools, have hospitals and asking yourself who is to blame for this and what can be done about it. That is what true religion is!
#158 Zambie. Am a founder member of one Pentecostal. You see the Pastor was just a kanyanta utshisi when we started. Later on we bought him a car then more people joined eventually he migrated to Lusaka. I met him on 9 Dec 2007. He “had trouble to remember me” especially that I had left my car some where and he thought I was just “one of those people.” Thats not the type of SHEPHERDSHIP Christ is talking about. A real shepherd is ready to suffer for his flock not the other round
” ………Fr Bwalya said he received the letter but did not state where he had been redeployed.
He said he was proud to be fired for telling the truth, defending the poor and fighting injustices in the country………” So what is Bwalya saying?
Bishop O’regan does not believe in the truth? only him in the entire Catholic Church in Zambia knows about injustices?
this is so insulting to catholics! Gooooood ridance! Adios!
Zed really needs deliverance. Bungwele bwachilamo. Its indeed Change or Die Zambia. If one speaks the truth nishi wa fake. If one lies then he speaks the truth. Kanshi we mwina Zambia waba shani? Let’s stop talking about democracy bcoz it appears we don’t understand it. The Police says Fr Bwalya can’t Hold a rally. The president says he can. Who’s confused then ? Who is out of his mind? Tabulacha bane. :’-(
But kwena
Change or die Zambia means if you don’t change this government in 2011,then we will be digging our own graves.Fr Bwalya is a man of God who is just trying to point out the sufferings of many zambian and this is what catholic priests are known for.He is not payed to make statements like many of our brothers in the ruling party.Majority this time will not win but facts.Am not PF but am behind Fr Bwalya. My the spirit of our departed bishop lives on in Fr Bwalya.
Viva CoDZ NLS Viva Fr Bwalya

Why now.
Ba LT, that flag you keep showing is misleading??? Am not in the US! yashani manje! Am i the only experiencing this fault??
Zambia let us help our selves coz stuff ain’t right. when will our leaders be accountable to us? government leaders behave like a circus while we stand and cheer! shame on us. RB is not to blame for our poverty he has just become captain of the sheep called Zambia. we have seen great irresponsibility in our leaders but all we do is talk like children the way most articles are on this blog. when will we learn to look out for others other than our selves? for some you poverty is a story you read you have never seen its reality. stand up Zambia you are living below your expected. we can do more so let the courageous talk don’t shut them up.
Fr Bwalya is not fit to be a priets in the Roman Catholic Church, the only apostolic church of st Paul. Even Jesus did not preach to kill the Roman colonisers of the Jews at the time. He taught us “to give unto Ceaser what belonged to Ceaser”. He did not teach us to be politicians. So Ba Fr Bwalya if he wants to be a politician let him form his own political party other than hiding under the Catholic church. Bravo to the Bishop of the Diocese of Ndola who saw the magnitude of the confusion of this potential jail bird. Abash Fr Bwalya.
99.9% of the blogging here come from those abroad. Why? You guys had breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner plus all the snacking you can. Bwalya is speaking on behalf of your sisters, brothers, uncles and probably your parents that are suffering because of govt failures and greedy leaders. And to those that say religion and politics cannot mix, were does it end? Next will Teachers, then lawyers, then accountants. How come you allow other professions to join politics or speak about national issues but don’t want priests to speak about the same? Who told you that by being a priest you forefeit your constitutional and God given rights? Naimwe ngamulefwaya kulandafye? If you cannot find a platform, create one.
Fr Bwalya is okay…he speaks for the voiceless and for the poor!!What he is simply doing is an accepted principle within the christian circles;its called liberation theology which stresses that the church has a moral right to fight poverty and injustice through political action.Poverty comes about as a result of sin…by speaking against corruption and other vices we are in some way speaking against ,and fighting sin….so what wrong has our good priest done?Long live father Bwalya…Long Zambia or die Zambia!!!
Everybody non sense. The so called father of Bwalya does not speak for me or the Zambian people. He speaks for his own son Bwalya. That’s it. we are tired, we don’t need another Kafupi..
TOO MANY IGNORANT PEOPLE IN DIASPORA ON THIS BLOG. HAVE YOU ACTUALLY LISTENED TO FR BWALYA’S PROGRAMS? IF YOU HAVENT BEEN TO ZAMBIAN IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS I URGE YOU NOT TO COMMENT. I BELIEVE NOT. HE HAS NOT INSULTED ANY ONE. AND HE IS MERELY SPEAKING FOR THE POOR PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA WHICH IS A LARGER POPULATION.
ALL YOUR UNFOUNDED COMMENTS ARE NOT HELPING. YOU ARE CONFORTABLE WHERE YOU ARE AND YOU DONT CARE FOR ANYBODY ELSE. I BET YOU CLOSE FAMILY MEMBERS ARE STARVING AND YOU ARE SELFISHLY PARADING YOUR SELF WITH EXPENSICE THINGS. ATLEAST FR BWALYA CARES FOR THE POOR. AND HE DESERVES CREDIT FOR IT. YOU GUYS ARE PATHETIC REALLY.
Zambians are very sleepy people. Don’t you see that the government will go to every extent to stop people like Fr. Bwalya from speaking against the problems facing your country. Get up and fight for your rights. Bishop Noel O’Reagan is a white man and doesn’t care for you. He moved Fr. Bwalya from radio Icengelo because he doesn’t care for you Niggers. Mwakulaculafye BAFIKALA
I just wonder what radio platform PF will have on the Copperbelt for campaigning now that father Bwalya has been cut nicely from Icengelo radio station save for the slashing grass, digging holes and doing gardening. Let him go into active politics if he speaks fro the Zambians in a political way, otherwise that father Bwalya does not speak for me especially that he seems to be supporting characters that destroyed Zambia’s economy starting from 1991 to 2001.
GRZ well done for making sure the Copperbelt was saved from the possible useless anarchy that was looming there.
Bishop Noel is a white man. Fr. Bwalya is a black man. The latter cares about his country because he has seen his brothers and sisters queuing up for mealie-meal. He has seen the reality of having a President who doesn’t think beyond his ugly face. Zambians should start thinking for themselves. Abash imperialists like Bishop Noel. I am from Ndola Diocese which is in his care and I know Bishop Noel likes money and doesn’t care about the poor.
Guys, lets support people like Bwalya who don’t bury their heads when things go wrong. A WRONG IS A WRONG. Zambians, start thinking plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
maestr you strike me as a lonely, angry man. GET A LIFE DEAR.
175, mwaba, just do what you can to help father Bwalya and/or PF. Otherwise, I will continue providing the truth on this blog which might cause you to have BP or a heartattack or stroke if you take things personal;; which I do not want to happen to you.
Relax, enjoy yourself and have a great day.
#176 Maestro is a tribalist,if Fr Bwalya was Tonga or SDA I think his postings would have been different. You need to see beyond tribe when it comes to the suffering masses in Zambia. You are a damn coward.Fr Bwalya is a brave young Zambian.Zambia should have more young people like him.
The educated HH is a coward what has he ever done or said on behalf of the masses? Noel Oregon is a foreigner and does not care what happens to Zambians.Fr.Bwalya is a bonafide Zambian who has lived and seen the injustices going on in Zambia.Educated Zambians amaze me,you can’t Facking think!! You are too myopic.
VIVA Fr.Bwalya!!
Good riddance “father”. And I am sure your sponsor(s) must be disappointed with you for handling their schemes in such an immature manner. You have taken them years back in time.
#177, You are chocking me with laughter… thats a new big laugh gag in there…lol
What father are you talking about.? Frank Bwalya is just a disillusioned scumbag not worth your time. Rejected tribal bigot turned pharisee without a future. This is why we tell you that a father figure in the house is a blessing.Like Fred Mmembe, he is a bastard born out of ubuchende. Just last week his fellow bastard Fred Mmembe was there image building him by giving a father figure he has never known in his life time.He knows no father, no love, no order and values hence all the anger and susceptibility to another tribal bigot Sata . Stop wasting your time that he speaks for the masses.Last saturday i listened to his rants live on Blogtalk radio. To all the questions tossed on him, you could tell he is a brainless scumbag turned a mop rag of circus frustrated political surrogates.
Father Bwalya can make a good Politician. While things are still hot, I would advise him to quickly formaly join PF and challenge Sata
Awe sure ba Senior Citizen thats a painful hammer, but hitting the nail right on the caput. Father Bwalya: diagnosis manic-depressive! Akalumba fye, you can even cut my middle finger so I wont be able to flip the bird at the good padre a.k.a the gardener!
#2 you are an id****t. This guy is saying what others have been longing to say ever since this guy akulu mpuno has been president. How many times has the MMD lip cut all those who opposed them? Oregon is now part of the system and you are happy with that! Fr. Bwalya is a Zambian who sees how his parents, his relatives and his friends and probably yourswho are living in dire poverty. Someone has to speak out for all those voiceless people… pensa, think my friend
English lessons needed for a lot of bloggers. DIE ZAMBIA is just a simple term. The Priest’s organization is Change or Die Zambia. Simple English. Either you change or you wont survive. Example is Zimbabwe. He did not mean to KILL Zambia. Bushe ichisungu chamishupa shani?
Lets face facts and be reasonable all. Father Bwalya is simply an opportunist, trying to use the church through a radio as a platform. Where was he and for God’s sake we don’t even know the fellow!
What nonsense is this? So only those you know can speak about the problems and suffering in Zambia? This is the reason that we still have people like Munkombwe and VJ in politics. Because you know them. What do you mean where was he, we don’t even know this fellow? Where did you want him to be? We have really illorgical pea brains on this blog? We have HH that you know, what does he speak about? Only the issues in Southern Province. Ppplease!
159 Dejavu and 158 Zambie. You are promulgating a false religion just like Father Bwalya’s church has done for more that 1,500 years and that is snctify poverty. Some of this priests colleagues actually take a vow of poverty just like he took a vow of celibacy. So if it is more holy to be poor, why would he be fighting against poverty? It is like fighting that every one should be non-celibate. It is a contradiction in terms. But where Christ has been truly preached, the poor rejoice because they exchange their poverty for His riches and they learn contentment and peace that surpasses all understanding. They know the God who supplies ALL their needs in Christ Jesus. They don’t need the government to supply!
Some of you who are commenting dont even stay in copperbelt ,what do u know about Father fr bwalya. The man is a good man and he speaaks on behalf of the poor. That ‘DIE ZAMBIA’is not the die u think it is the die of the economy just like u are seeing in zimbabwe. And father Bwalya is still a father he deserves respect so dont call him names u will curse yourself .
It is interesting to see some comments on this blogspot. I should say that I am really dissapointed by the logic of many who write here, especially coming from the young generation of Zed. It is just simple logic to note that all developed countries have moved foward due to the democtratic institutions they have in place which to a very large extent maintains checks and balances on political institutions governiung the country eg a strong media. In a country like Zed, we do not even have a media strong enough to rise and stand up for the people. This govt wants to nonsensically increase electricity tariffs and no one can speak for the people. If we strenghten institutions lke the church, then we have a strong voice for the common man. Fr Bwalya’s polically motivated sacking is stupid!!!!
The problem with some of you commenting is that you have never even head Fr. Bwalya speaking. You only read it from the Post who had a specific agenda from Fr. Bwalyas messages. His talk is so ordinary and he pinpoints specific issues. The problem with us Zambians is that we are just too afraid of change. “Kwaya umwela eko twalola”. The moment we learn the art of switching governments, then we will get Zambian Politicians to work.
#186, you are a louse sent. You are a Christian and you can think like that. Let God have mercy on you.
The Fr should understand that while there freedom of speech, there is no freedom after reckless speeches designed to cause anarchy.Fr Bwalya hard luck with your party we all know.
Zambian people will appreciate Fr. bwalya he campaings a person not bemba. if he starts campaings with his fellow bemba, then Fr. bwalya was advocating anarchy in the country. He is using chengelo radio station to use bemba to engineer useless kaponyas to create problems in Zambia. It should be made clear to anyone with brains of bwalya that in Rwanda genocide started with churches where they were not allowed to preach certain laguages in rwanda, this created misunderstanding among the people, we all saw what happened . Bwalya is danger to zambia. Any bemba, educated friends of mine must condem this evil man in our society.
P O L I T I C S… Better to just know the how to spelt the word… Dont want to know anything about it!!!
“New Liberation Struggle, Change or Die Zambia”? What language is this? LUNATIC.
Lomba beve abusa aleke kuzola vaseline ku menso. Ako sebenzeshyako tula to baby powder. Loko tu gonga tu Johnsons tufuma mu ma factory a mwa Chazanga.
The Man lacks wisdom
Nice move Catholic community, He is a part cadre let him openly now campaign for his party
That man is a Disgrace and he has brought shame upon the catholic community
MU KAAMBA RB: THERE IS NO SMOKE WITHOUT FIRE. WHEN PEOPLE TALK ABOUT YOU, JUST SIT DOWN AND SET YOU HOUSE IN ORDER. DO NOT EXHIBIT YOUR CHALLENGING BEHAVIOUR AND EMOTIONAL INCOMPETENCE BY ENGINEERING REMOVAL OF FRANK FROM HIS JOB AND SEND HIM TO SURFER IN THE STREETS. FOR SURE THAT SHOWS HOW UNKIND YOU ARE. MULEMONA IFYO ABANENU BEKALA MUFYALO EG UK AND AMERICA. LEADER ARE CALLED ALL SORTS OF NAMES BUT NEVER OPEN THEIR MOUTHS TO CHALLENGE INSTEAD THEY QUICKLY IRON OUT THEIR MISTAKE AND FOREDGE FORWARD AS A NATION. COUNTRIES THAT ARE WORLTHY ACCEPT CRITICISMS BOTH POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE, FROM POPULAR AND UNPOPULAR PEOPLE. FROM RICH AND POOR. IF YOUR RECENT ACTION TO FRANK IS TRUE, THEN YOU NO DIFFERENT FROM YOUR RELATIVE KK. PLEASE NOTE: ANYBODY WHO DOESNT TAKE CRITICISM CAN NEVER PROSPER.
Leshina also claimed to have risen from the dead! Parallels! This is the resurrection of the Lumpa sect. This man will soon be defrocked and he will form his own religiopolitical organisation. Renegade Catholic priests are causing anarchy in Uganda.
‘Frather’ bwalya seems like one of sata’s kaponyas…..how can he call his movement called new liberation struggle change or die zambia…
I think if someone is speaking what the masses want to hear then let him speak I personally feel there is a lot we get done in Zambia but we let complacency, cowardice and corruption rule the day. Sometime you need to take the bull by the horns!
It’s very well documented that people with very low IQ fail to debate peacefully and sensibly and will always go on the offensive to intimidate their opponent. Let people speak their minds so that their wisdom or foolishness can be exposed for all to see. Amano mambulwa and politicians do not have the monopoly over wisdom. They come and go. Unless Zambians are so dull that they need politicians to tell them wrong from right.
Good job Fr. keep up . they are scared about you, hammer the MMD. nobody likes them.
Democracy or not, this Bwalya chap is a lunatic. If he was a lupen in high school or at the seminary thats not gonna work with politics. Politics and church dont work, like the others have already pointed out, Ask Nevers and Dan Pule. You can bundle yourself with your Uncle Sata and rule some village in Mpika not Zambia.
