Shepolopolo loses to Zimbabwe

Shepolopolo on Wednesday afternoon succumbed to a 1-0 loss at the hands of Zimbabwe in the final qualifying round match of the 2016 African Women Championship played at Rufaro Stadium in Harare.

Kudakwashe Basopo scored the lone goal in this first leg match as the Mighty Warriors condemned Albert Kachinga’s Zambia Senior Women’s National to their first loss in the qualifying campaign.

According to FAZ media, Basopo is alleged to have been in an offside position as she chipped the ball over Zambia goalkeeper Hazel Nali on 45 minutes.

This result has given Zimbabwe a slender advantage going into the second leg scheduled for Nkoloma Stadium this Sunday.

Zambia now need to score at least two goals without conceding to qualify for the Africa Women Cup of Nations final tournament to be hosted by Cameroon in November.

Shepolopolo are seeking only their second appearance at the competition.

  1. Kudakwashe Basopo??? With names like that it’s no wonder our b-tches had no chance!

  2. Lets stop supplying maize o Zimbabwe. How can they beat us knowing well we are the source of the energy they have got?. They have got no courtesy.

  3. Lets turn up in large numbers & support our girls at the top of our lungs!

The 1 – 0 loss can be overturned with a good mix of self belief & rousing support, come on Shepolopolo, you can do it…
