Chief Nsamba calls for the immediate arrest of the K10bn scam officials

Chief Nsamba of the Bangweulu Swamps in Samfya has said, the theft of K10 billion by officers at the Ministry of Health is a sad development.

The chief has joined those calling for immediate arrest and prosecution of the officers involved in the K10 billion-scam.

He said those who will be found guilty of the corrupt act should be handed life jail sentences, because what they have done is tantamount to killing.

The traditional ruler said the K10 billion which the officers put in their pockets to serve their personal interests would have been prudently spent for the procurement of medicines to save lives, especially at the time when the country is grappling with the AIDS pandemic.

“In the Bangweulu swamps the situation is very bad in this era of HIV and AIDS, where people need better health services. There is need to have one of the health centres upgraded to stage II (two) clinic, where specialised health services can be provided ,” Chief Nsamba said.

He said he gets worried to understand that one of the officers identified to be behind the K10 billion-scam at the Ministry of Health has been transferred to the Ministry of Local Government.

He said leaving the said officer scotfree will afford him another opportunity to steal more public funds and urged the ACC to investigate deeper and arrest the officer.

“These people need to be handed harsher penalties, not simple sentences. Life sentence could be ideal, since what they have done is tantamount to killing,” the chief said.

  1. His Highness has alraedy passed a life setence on susupected Health Ministry Officials involved K10Billion scam. I am not a lawyer let us let the courts do what they know. There are issues of human rights, right to own property etc. We are yet to know the extent of the network so that loop holes are sealed to avoid future reoccurance of such acts. Any way seeing is believing, it cant be one man’s act there are alot of guys involved. Its good business for my dear learned friends, they will defend them and get a share of the resources from the suspects and cash will be back in circulation. For those who steal chickens, cobs of maize and gaja smokers (5grams) and other petty thieves the trail is express and sentences passed but for big thieves its the opposite. What a World we live in?

  2. Yes make noise Chief !! They have to face the law. Stealing public funds should not at all be tolerated and the verdict should show that we are serious. 125 years imprisonment should be the minimum.

  3. Bulaya was here syndrome!!!!! When will it end. You have a thief in a ministry the best you do is moving him to another so he can steals from there as well.

  4. There will be total chaos if these culprits are not brought to book. The chief is right. Let the people speak out and ACC cuff those people.

  5. well spoken chief,we don’t need to hide behind the law here, corruption shud be met with the degree of seriousness if who wud be offenders are are to get scared.someone steals more than 10billion, and yu slump 4yrs imprisonment,is that the law yu want uphold to rid corruption in zed?,jokers.in some parts of the world where we’re some of us,corruption of that magnitude carries a death penauty.pa zed look at how thieves are sentenced…….shame!!!!!!!
hope some of these issues are being addressed by the NCC,let’s wait and see.

  6. Big brother NJ: Walasa “Bulaya was here syndrome” seems to be overwhelming the Ministry of Health

  7. Better still sentence them to death chief. How can one have seven girlfirends? Guys even Sidenafil can not be enough. I would starve 8 lions for 3 days and throw them in. The only people to get life should be the girl friends. Chances are they knew what was going on but did not bother. If they had to be tested for akashishi chances are they probably are all positive. There is no way the seven can stay faithful to one *****. Honestly how was managing to go round? Chilankalipa imwe!

  8. I would 8 starve lions for 3 days and then throw them in. The seven girl friends who obviously knew all about each are the ones to go in for life. No need to even test them for HIV because there is no way these seven people would remain faithful to this i d i o t.

  9. Bravo Chief, I second you on that one. But the biggest question everybody is asking is how does someone in the Human Resource department have access to such huge amounts. I smell a rat here, more could be involved

  10. Really corruption has become endemic in this country. We have more talk than action. RB should be firm or else this country will be in big problem

  11. These Scammers dont need a Chief from the remotest swamps in Zambia to hang by their necks!!
they should go to jail. period

  12. It cannot be gainsaid that some people in private and public institutions have been and are stealing national resources including money. We all know it – some are our relatives and close friends. This is not a thing to be proud of as a country. But we seem to like it and we are afraid to face the truth. We only use the truth when someone has fallen out of our favour.
We know that all the evidence is there to arrest them for stealing public resources. Lands has records on the land they own, road traffic has the records of vehicles they own, the council has records of houses, shops and property they own and pacro has the records of companies they own. There are other organisations that have records of their transactions.
All this information can be simply entered into a database to…

All this information can be simply entered into a database to query who owns what, when, where, and how many.
We need a national database on property in our country – UNZA computer science can do this in no time. This database can be used by ACC, DEC, police, the church etc to query irregularities in ownership. Surely we do not need political wind to query irregularities. This is a cause for justice and fairplay. If we do this there will be definitely schools, hospitals, roads etc even in the rural areas. It is not a curse to live in rural areas.
Dear bloggers lets fight for the national database coz we need to know who owns what in our rich country. VIVA national database
