Clergyman vows not to listen to Anti-Government media

Share

A Masaiti based clergyman has vowed not to listen to a named community radio station and a daily tabloid due to what he says bad news content.

Kafulafuta Baptist Mission Rev. Kenox Luwawa speaking after the graduation ceremony of over 45 pastors said he had stopped to listen to the radio station because it was always anti-government.

He said had also stopped buying and reading the daily tabloid because its content was always anti government.

He said he had instructed his family members also not to listen to the radio station and not to read the tabloid for the same reasons.

He added that he had taken such a stance because information was important and causes certain impressions which would upset one in many ways.

He said he has considered it prudent to choose what to hear and what to read especially on issues that cast doubt on government programmes.

He said he was in full support of the government of the day and did not want his mind to be spoiled with information which was not encouraging.

He said it was important to hear building messages and reading encouraging words on what efforts government was putting in place to help people.

Rev. Luwawa added that it was important for people to choose what to hear and what to read because if they heard and read wrong information, their judgments could be wrong even on issues that were straightforward.

  1. Funny, the only message that hurts and needs to be avoided is truth. I don’t think any sane diligent prudentman would be harmed from listening to something he clearly knows is not right. People that tend to hide their ears from things usually don’t want to face the facts but instead want to live in a cocoon of ignorance.

  2. LT are you sure this man is a Rev with a capital R or small r. He must not react like that when infact he said nothing when Rev Peter Chintala organised the killing of the missionary who was not happy about the missing funds in the Baptist Church in Ndola.

  3. I wish the so called Rev.Luwawa could prepare someting better than preaching about radio stations. If you are in full support of the government of the day,wel and good but dont force others to support what they dont want.

  4. Another Reverend without brains!! To listen to to a radio station one has to tune in why tell others. The same goes for the tabloid, buy your useless daily mail & times and read GRZ fake propaganda, fake Reverend bamuselela kwakaba, ati muzungu ani konde, kusoba nzelu!!

  5. If im not mistaken, this is the same Rev.whom i heard saying Jona swallowed the fish instead of of saying the fish swallowed Jona and when some one was trying to tel him that its not Jona who swallowed the fish,he got upset and said,it doesnt matter who swallowed who but the message is swallowing..

  6. The worst thing that could happen to a country is have an extreamist tabloid Newspaper to decide who should be in government and who should not and actually make it happen. For this reason I intend to make sure this does not happen to my country, namely to become captive zombies of some propagandist demagogue with an agenda to control political leaders who will always kowtow to him for fear of losing power. Thank you LT for being neutral.

  7. Reverend, you’re free to keep yourself and your family ignorant. That’s your choice! Just dont expect the rest of the nation to follow your narrow-mindedness as well. Ever heard of freedom of choice? The beauty of a democracy is that we are all free to listen to any radio station or buy any newspaper of our choice. Just as we are free to cjoose which churches to belong to – fake ones included.

  8. Dear friends, Its okay to differ, but don’t insult those with a different opinion. Let us share ideas and learn from each other. Thanks.

  9. The rev should have read the Bible properly that he should be quick to listen but slow to act and slow to anger. After all when you listen to both sides of an issue, you will be well informed to make a sound decision. but this shimapepo is misleading the souls. he must repent and tell the people to choose the best thing in their lives Jesus and while they are on earth, they must be shrewd like a serpent but meek like a dove.

  10. REV. THE BIBLE SAYS SAYS MY PEOPLE ARE DYING DUE TO LACK OF KNOWLEDGE.KEEP YOU FAMILY IGNORANT,THATS YOUR CHOICE

  11. Who cares whether you listen or dont. I also dont read the s. h. i.t called Times of katwshi, but do people care if I do or dont

  12. So why annouce that at pastoral graduation ceremony and most probably in Church or on church grounds, LT you didn’t say who was the Guest of Honour. Why not keep that to youself Rev? we all know that tithes and offerings are just trickling these days and especially in Ndola rural so the little must be channeled towards the stomach.

  13. What difference will it make, whether you listen or not, please just leave us to enjoy reading and listed to the truth. you sound like one of the beneficiary

  14. Well, but why stand on an anthill to announce this when it should be personal. And the “rev” is being a DICTATOR by stopping or instructing his family members not to listen to the radio station and not to read the tabloid because he feels he can censor what they read or listen to. What a shame for the so-called man of God.

  15. The Rev got a Blown Envelope. never mind what is saying. The Radio is keeping checks and balances. Other wise RB will never put Dora behind bars

  16. Please don’t be so judgemental to this shimapepo otherwise he is enitiled to his decision and those who want to read everything or not read what he wants are also entiled

  17. #20 Shitaonga- We are not being critical. We are only worried that he had to say what he said at this event. In short its him who does not respect other people opinion. For me I dont read or watch GRZ owned s. H. i . t media, but my family, friends work mates dont have to do the same. They are free to read what ever they want. I respect their choice and I will never try to convince them AMEN

  18. LT, stop covering every jim and jack when they utter something. Or is it your prerogative to decide what appears on your site whether the readers/bloggers like it or not?

  19. #20. he is entitled to his decision yes that we can’t argue but what we are saying here is why should he annouce his personal decision to the world.

  20. #23 Thank you- my sub was filtered by LT. Even me I dont read GRZ media, but I do not impose this on my friends, family or workmates. They are free to read whatever they want. And I dont go boasting about my detest for GRZ media. The Rev has a motive- it has become fashionable in Zambia to apply for jobs by making such pronouncements. Hope the Rev will not do a SIULAPWA

  21. The Holy Bible records that “by beholding we are changed” and so the man is right in his decision.
All the best in yur future sir..
