Two youths to hang for murder and aggravated robbery

TWO youths have been sentenced to deaths by hanging by the Chipata High Court for murder and aggravated robbery committed in Chipata District.

Before High Court Judge Petronella Ngulube was Arnold Zulu 20,of Zambia and Mike Phiri 21,of Malawi who were convicted with two counts of aggravated robbery and murder contrary to the Laws of Zambia.

Particulars of the offence were that the two on February 27th,2016 whilst acting together did murder Rebecca Daka, wife of a teacher of Chiziye Primary School.

The two also stole a Vitz registration number ALF 8085 and cash belonging to a teacher of Chiziye Primary school.

During trial, the two who were arrested in Malawi claimed that they never committed the said offences.

But the State called upon 18 witnesses who testified against the two convicts.

However, Ms Justice Ngulube sentenced the duo to death by hanging for aggravated robbery and murder.

    • This woman Ngulube is on fire, all her cases are ending in death sentence. Even stealing chicken.
      Looks like judges under PF are pissed off!

    • The ldiots should hang by the balls. They are lucky in Zambia the death penalty only exists on paper but is not being carried out.

    • Iwe Kambwanga, they stole a Vitz and murdered somebody; a Rebecca Daka, wife of a teacher of Chiziye Primary School. Even the HEADLINE itself makes this clear: “Two youths to hang for murder and aggravated robbery.”
