Kitwe outfit Geokas Curve Football Club have celebrated after securing promotion to FAZ Division One Zone Two.
Geokas won promotion after winning the 2016 FAZ Division Two Copperbelt League with 56 points from 30 matches.
Club coach Webby Kabinda is cheered by the team’s promotion and is already looking forward to the new challenge.
“I am very excited and very happy. It is every coach’s dream to win the league,” Kabinda said.
“The players were focused and worked hard to win promotion. We tried to get results even in cases were we did not play the best of football,” he said.
Kabinda is relishing the opportunity of playing against old guards in Division One such as Kitwe United, Chambishi, Roan United and Indeni.
“We are looking forward to play in Division One and this is the challenge we wanted at least we change the names of opponents,” he said.
“At least in Division One there is Roan United, Kitwe United, Chambishi and Indeni. These are big teams, we respect them but this is football,” he added.
Geokas was formed in 2007.
