Sundowns, Mbesuma Part Ways

Zambia striker Collins Mbesuma will not be a Mamelodi Sundowns player next season when his contract with the South African club expires on June 30.

According to Kickoff, Sundowns have decided not to extend Mbesuma’s contract for an optional two years  and will be a free agent at the end of this month.

The news comes in the wake of local press reports today that he skipped a days training at Zambia’s training camp in South Africa on May 25 after the team was given a break the previous day.

Mbesuma with one goal to his credit this season for Sundowns joined the Pretoria side last August after leaving Turkish club Bursaspor.

He previously played for Roan United before moving abroad to Kaizer Chiefs in 2004 and later Portsmouth in England including a brief loan spell at Portuguese side CS Maritimo.

  7. chali pwa ichi mwaice. Hope he can one day pick up…..but age is not in his favour. what a downfall!!!

  8. Mbesuma is simply suffering from too little education. Dont expect too much from this chap. his brains are no bigger than that of a chicken.

  9. imwe ba Lusakatimes boza. Mbesuma scored 4 goals for downs including a brace in the ABSA premier league and a superb bicycle kick in the MTN africa champions league., which was eventually voted Sundowns goal of the season.

  10. This man if he is? Will never learn just come home you drink chibuku we have 100hearses dont worry about your body weight RB SAYS they can take a dozen of your size

  11. Mbesuma just work hard , I know you are able to rise. Dont listen to these diaspora plate-washers. Imbale nama broom fyalibapesha . just stop eatintg too much naiwe ala.

  12. the guy is gud when he wants to be but the body disturbs him a lot..he is behavin like ronaldinho or ronaldo at some time….ekupwa i think!!!!sad

  13. Ichisungu chali shupa Mbesuma. I hope he has saved some cash from his England stint. Other wise he will join Litana in Ndola rural . Koswe wa Kantu

  14. The nut should just get back to Mikomfwa and help Roan stay in the premier league. Ukwina nako bulwele. The only thing he does right is ukulepaula amacrate ya shakeshake. The fella is so fat that he cant think straight. Sad for him, I only hope has had the brains to manage the little cash he made at Kaiser Chiefs and Pompie. Otherwise he ll kiss his ar>>>>>>.

  15. Yama pa Luanshya insala too much!!!!!!!!!! Am not surprised the man cant control his apetite.Just few years ago he used to smell hunger when you meet him,.This is a good example of an illiterate young man failing to handle little success.Just little education is vital for any humanbeing!!!! Shame.

  16. Mbesuma should now refocuss. Age is catching up. Let him

  17. It has been long overdue. This boy acts like he has never seen money before. Good lesson brother.

  18. Gents please!! Lets not be jealousy of the guy. He has done his part, been up, now he may be down. If he made mistakes lets all wish that he learns from them and he is able to pick himself up. He will find another Club in SA. To some clubs he is a germ. Believe me. He can not be compared to Emmanual Zulu, for those know the chap.

  19. His footballing days are gone, maybe the young man can try Tsumo wrestling now.!!

  20. that is the end OF MBESUMA.WERE IS NELSON BANDA,PAUL CHELLA,ZEDDY SIALETI.VINCENT MUTALE JUST TO MENTION A FEWsmoking and juju tomuch pa zed.

  21. Mbesuma should buy land and start farming. Top footballer turns farmer would make good reading.

  22. ba mbesuma ba kamba, efyo yaba bola ya kupanda, konse nomba bweleni ko fye, mwise ku mwenu

  23. #23 For yo info, Zeddy Saileti is assistant coach at ROPS in Finland where he played for over a decade. I met him when he was on holiday in Kitwe at his plot where he is putting up a nice house. Paul chellah is a Staff Sergent in the Zambia Army after retired at Buffaloes, he is obviously doing better than those former players without jobs. Vincent Mutale is also in the Army although i dont know what his rank but he is also the coach for the Army team in Kabwe which he brought from division two to division one. I dont know about Nelson Banda.

  24. No determination ba Mbesuma. Opportunities come and you just throw them away. Don’t be lazy and enjoy like you have already made it. Whats wrong with these chaps? Shame..

  25. Self discipline and all the other virtues such as honesty, intergrity are important if one has to be successful.

  28. Ba Mbesuma, you need to wake up once and for all and realise you aren’t a superstar. You still have talent and can still rise. All you need is discipline, less junk food and NO beer. Work hard and getback to form. LusakaTimes, just a correction, ba Collins scored four last season, including the goal of the SA league last year.

  29. Since when is Collins Mbesuma playing for Mamelodi Sundowns? The editor must do some research please, even google can do better. He currently playing for Orlando Pirates.
