President Rupiah Banda has undergone a successful minor orthopaedic procedure for a knee problem that had been troubling him in recent days.
Medical doctors in South Africa who conducted the operation on the President’s right knee say it was very successful.
State House Press Aide, Dickson Jere, said in a statement that the President is expected to make complete and full recovery within a short period of time.
He said Mr. Banda is expected to be discharged from hospital on Thursday after taking the recommended hours of rest after the operation.
President Banda is in South Africa to attend the World Economic Forum on Africa.
[ZNBC]
So the very old man President RB Banda is sick and just knowing dragging his system to work as President following “President Rupiah Banda on Thursday underwent an orthopaedic procedure for a knee problem in South Africa. I hope this will not end up in the stable case information we had last year until the most unfortunate happened.
Anyhow, I wish you Mr President RB Banda quick recuperation. Otherwise, campaigning will be hard in the 2011 elections race. If you really feel tired Mr President don’t let the likes of Minister Tetamashimba lead your to untold misery just for their wish to cling to GRZ.

Prevention is better than cure.
bring him to UTH.
I wish RB steady recovery and maybe he will stay at home after the Op.
Attend the World Economic Forum on the South African Clinic did I know?.
RB, you should reduce on your travelling. Ever since you became presido, you’ve been travellign around the country. See now you’ve started having operations less than a year in office.
Surprising enough the same person is reported doing two different things at the same time as evidenced in “He said Mr. Banda is expected to be discharged from hospital on Thursday after taking the recommended hours of rest after the operation” and “President Banda is in South Africa to attend the World Economic Forum on Africa“.
Strange these things the way they happen, but I think the attending of the Forum and being Hospitalised is not a coincidence. It appears like one was planned while the others is an excuse for the other one.
Let us keep watching and events unfold. By the way, what is Minister of Justice Vice President George Kunda doing about the increasing strikes and riots in Zambia?
__
Prevention is better than cure.
He is already not fit to contest in the next elections. #2, I agree with you. He should be brought to UTH and with the situation there, he might take consideration in the plight of civil servants.
UTH doctors have failed our hard working President RB. They could not even perform a simple operation on on the President’s knee. I swallow my words, may be the President did not want to meet the strikers. It is always cheaper for him to get treatment in South Africa than to pay his doctors and nurses.
Arthroscopy is looking into the knee cavity with a telescopic camera. It’s a routine investigative procedure. No big deal. The only surprise is that he had to go to South Africa to have it done while, as has been pointed out by others, his country is in all kinds of turmoil with health workers and now doctors among others on strike. I am pretty certain this procedure could be done at the Lusaka Orthopaedic Hospital, with the advantage that RB’s loot would at least have been spent in Zambia to help Zambian workers.
Here we go again! May not be fit for 2011, guess the same goes for MCS?
Would have been better if the operation had taken place at UTH especially at this moment in time. Very bad PR.
He is overweigth. I guess his BMR must be freighting to look at.
He is overweigth. He cannot learn from his predesessor. Too bad.
Who was head of state when he was under anastheatics? Should we not have known about the operation before it happened or was it an emergency?
Is this why LT was off the air this morning?
So he’s also going to foreign countries for treatment? They are all hopeless. No wonder Super Ken stands out from the crowd. he used to get all his treatment at UTH. Even major treatment he was getting it from there. I wont be surprised if Rb doesnt finish his term of office too.
Edited bring yourself to UTH. Nekufi sure has to be treated in SA. The other time was VJ with ailling ukutwi. Now he has an ear to the ground.
This is nonesense! People are dying at UTH and this man goes to south for his medical attention. No wonder i believe that this man doesn’t care about the welfare of the medical personnel in Zambia! He should have been brought to UTH so that he experiences the lineups that the people who; 1) Voted for him 2) who pay the taxes that his using to travel, are experiencing due to the strike! I wonder what general Shikapwasha has to say about this. is he going to say the president was overseeing the negotiations of the strike from his hospital bed in a foreign country!? God help mother Zambia.
Prepare for Presido in wheelchair after 2011. Ala bwafya.
first it was the Late Levy with Minor stroke and underwent a minor operation in UK in 2006.Now it is Bwezani with a minor knee problem and has also undergone a minor operation. Anyway time will tell the truth. but ma advice to Bwezani plz step down by elections are costly n get well soon
Quick recovery Mr President. Some posts here are really embarassing.
Zambia’s 5th president – Kunda
I hope this is not an excuse to fail to come and face the striking GRZ workers and rioting people following reports from ZWD. Someone has also commented that it appears there are plans by President RB Banda to take another errand to Gabon and mourn with the country there following the death of those people’s President directly from South Africa without coming to Zambia.
Surely, it looks like someone is running away from responsible in the wake of peril in my country. Very sad indeed.

#17 It`s not your life. Tomorrow it may be you. Do not rejoice when others are not well.
His legs are worn off from all that touring!
You can f@@l some people sometimes, but you cant f@@l all the people all the time.
We know what’s up
can someone please post me telephone number for prof munkonge or chintu.i want to find out how the failed to operate on that knee at UTH when they can separate siamese twins.or else i’ll recomend they get fired.
vibanthu vinangu unga funse ati cikufa liti.
Hopefully we wont hear another STABLE lol
My prayer that you recover quickly Mr President. Of course UPND cadres will always find fault with everything and anything.
No need to overrate things mwe bantu mwe.. it’s just a minor operation. Though I’m also asking myself if and why it couldn’t have been done at home?
That knee just needed a good whack with a “sando”!
Chama #31 Thats funny!!
To some people, a professor ia able to do everything. Ever heard about specialists?
Latest report on RB from South African clinic – “The President is in stable condition, resting comfortably on taxpayers money who themselves cant get any medical help.”
Only African presidents seek medical care and die in other countries – Go figure
#25 & 31.very correct.Kwena Shi Mpundu…seriously!!!!
He is entitled. Yasser died but not in his country. Get your facts right.
Thandiwe my dear, you could be joining the billionaire women of this country. ni pa zed pano, uyo munthu limbi nafwa kale. alaleeee
By the way have we road tested the hearses. they may be needed from what i read. lol

Why is it that it`s UPND cadres who are hate most with everything that my president does? The party we are least worried about. Thrid again! lol!
Why is it that it`s UPND cadres who are hurt most with everything that my president does? The party we are least worried about. Thrid again! lol!
So I ask again, was Kunda the head of state when our pres was asleep during the operation?
The president trully does not care for anyordinary Zambian but himself, family, friends and his cabinet. If he cared he would attend to the many, many problems affecting the nation today. He is definately ripe for impeachment.
dont u people get it? its an excuse not to come back home anytime soon ‘Too fragile to travel’ the Times will say and he will hope that by the time he’d ready to come back, these strikes would have gone away!
Strikes were there before RB, they will be there after he is gone in 2021. Cry however you want, it is reality. Strikes are there in develped countries as well.
We have no leaders in Zambia. They are all selfish people. Sure when your people are dying due to lack of food and medicine, one person called the presido goes out to South to seek medical attention leaving his UTH. CILVIL SERVANTS YOU HAVE BEEN TAKEN FOR GRANTED FOR A LONG TIME, PLEASE DONT GO BACK TO WORK. Let us teach this devils a lesson this time. VIVA STRIKE.
Ukwi kalisha mudeke. By the way did UTH give a go ahead. Let him foot the bill.
Forty four plus years after independence and specialist hospitals are a distant dream. How shameful.
The OP could have been done at UTH so we could have saved some forex for the striking nurses and teachers. A knee OP could even have waited its – not an emergency, akabunga is.

Mpombo says President is Stable!! At least they have not used the dreaded word Stable. Remember Ba LPM? Its an African thing even Gabon was saying Bongo was alive and stable.
If it’s so minor why can’t zambian doctors carry out the operation. If it was a complex case of plastic surgery of removal of excess folded skin from the face I would understand but minor operation
What will happen to RB if he was given another five years? These are bad signs for the future….. His knees can’t hold his body weight any more. I hope he won’t come home on a wheel chair.
Ndiye kuthti aBanda aganidza kuthi mankhwala a kwathu alibe mphamvu? Tikanawa chimwitsa momuno mu Zambia. N’ganga zamuno mu Zambia nazo zimadziwa mankhwala a mphamvu osati kumaononga ndalama za dziko kulibe mlandu.
Please deal with health trikes urgently PEOPLE ARE DYING twapata. LT please convey this message. My heart bleeds
RB is old and sick, old people usaully have a lot of complecations period.
I have seen 90 year olds who look much fitter than 47 year olds in Zambia who are HIV positive.
RB’s old age and overweight won’t work well for Zambia , the same with Sata’s old age and his heart condition. These two guys must be ruled out of the game.
RB looks good for his age. Long live RB. Hope that knees heals quickly. The country needs you ba president.
knee!
Zambians, why do people think insulting their president is going to make a change? Surely insulting your president will not change anything. WWW says people change their flags and screen names to insult their president. Do not worry some of you will go straight in when you visit Zambia. Watch this space!
There is no need to insult the president. Calling him names will not a miserable party like UPND win an election.
Can`t wait for some people to visit Zambia! Some of you are going straight in jail for all these insults.
#17, LUSKA, IS THIS HOW FAR WE HAVE SANK IN MORALS. I KNOW WE INSULT OUR PRESIDENT EVERY DAY, BUT DO WE HAVE TO GO SO FAR AS TO CALL HIM “A dog”. THIS IS A DISEASE WE HAVE CONTRACTED FROM FRED MUMEMBE AND IT IS A DISGRACE. I BEG YOU ZAMBIANS AND I BEG YOU AGAIN, LET US NOT CALL OUR PRESIDENT ” A DOG”. PEOPLE ELECTED HIM. AND EVEN IF WE DISLIKE HIM LET US RESPECT THE FELLOW ZAMBIANS WHO ELECTED HIM. I TELL YOU, THIS IS HOW A COUNTRY DESCENDS INTO CIVIL WAR. WHEN YOU STOP RESPECTING EACH OTHER.
Boma ni Boma. Alright to insult my president when you are hiding in diaspora.
When we did National Service they called this “MALINGERING”.

Dr Chituwo is an orthopedic Surgeon , he could have done it from Maina Soko Military hospital why go south Africa?. This is basically running away from the many problems at home. We need the young to rule .
There are some very misguided individuals on this site, it is pathetic. Whether they are doing it to be annoying or they are just ignorant beats me.
I am talking about the Hero worshiping of RB.
You know who you are. You are brainwashed and you enjoy being a doormat.
For your information, we have the right to talk about the ills of government and we will visit Zambia in peace. Your puny threats are for the faint hearted like yourself who cant stand up for themselves!
They should have just chopped his leg. That could have restricted his trips around the globe.
this ka dickson jere thing the way he is sweetening up the news like he is telling it to the people who are happy yet he is just inviting a shower of insulsts on his boss.
Is Dr Chituwo a knee specialist? More like we have solicitors representing all cases in Zambia. The fact is law is broad. If one is a cardiologist, it doesn`t mean they can do PVIs.
I DON’T KNOW WETHER YOU ARE ZAMBIANS BUT YOU DO NOT SOUND SO. ANY DID YOU WANT RUPIA TO NEGOTIATE WITH THE UNIONS. THERE IS A TECHNICAL TEAM WHICH NEGOTIATES WITH THE MANY PUBLIC SERVICE UNIONS. IT IS A TECHNICAL TEAM. IT IS CALLED DELEGATING. A PRESIDENT HAS TO RESPECT THE ADVICE OF THOSE HE HAS DELEGATED. STRIKES BY PUBLIC SERVICE WORKERS HAPPEN EVERY YEAR. IS THIS THE FIRST ONE, JUST BECAUSE FRED MMEMBE SAYS SO. MMEMBE HAS A US$3M DEBT WITH DBZ WHICH HE QUARANTEED AND WHICH HE HAS TO PAY ON BEHALF OF LIQUIDATED ZAMBIAN AIRWAYS AND HE CAN’T WAIT TO GET RID OF RUPIAH. THAT IS WHY EVERY EDITORIAL IS ABOUT RUPIAH. AND YOU ZOMBIES HAVE SWALOWED THE HOOK.
Ba some of us! The fact is when you visit Zambia, even a “simple policeman” is an important person. The reality is you would call the president all these names if you were in Zambia. Try visiting.
You wouldn`t!
RB – dispatching your people on this site to intimidate us will not save you. Kuya bebele!
#72 They are called silly fish. Despite seeing the one in front hooked away, they still line up for the bait. I can not wait to see some of these “Zambians” at LIA.
What is a simple operation ? What is a complicated Operation ? What is orthopedics ? Why is it diferent from General Surgery? Right now Resident doctors in Zambia have joined the strike and your Nyama soya is in south Africa for I and D operation.
young cardson kabwe had to struggle to raise money for his life saving heart operation and our heartless politicians didn’t want to hear anything about it including one simon miti “may he go to jail” and yet the priviledged ones are having succesful knee operations abroad at taxpayers expense.some animals are more equal than others
Leading a nation and people not animals at a farm is the most difficult thing , unless you are prepared for it . RB is a President by serendipity
Mending our presido. Lol
There is nothing like a “simple” operation. This is just journalism. A “simple” Knee operation can end with one losing their limb. Every operation carries it`s own risks. Reason why every complaint should be handled by a specialist. Dr Chituwo may be an Orthopaedic but not a knee specialist. Why are people being thick?
Orthopaedic surgeon!
Bambi you wont even reach 72. The man has and is doing well for his age and nationality, colour and everything. Unfortunately for those people, the man will be around for some time. Sorry!
Zambia is not short of leaders and good leaders for that matter ,RB is not a semi god , any one of us can lead the nation and perfectly so . All we need are good electoral systems devoid of rigging. Come 2011 let the young rule.
For some of us are destined by nature to live up to 90 + years so what is 72 nothing . Let the man come home , and prove his fiber.
Show me the money! lol! Don`t just talk the talk springs to mind. The best one can do is try. A certain young man from Southern province can testify to that. Stop compairing Zambia to the west. By the way it`s the people of Zambia who voted RB anyway.
What are are CNS complications of old age . lay persons would see the knee complications ,how about the tangles in the brain leading to dementia? Let the young rule.
Amen #84.Let the young rule.its time to get over en done with the “granny era” that has plagued us for so long.Come 2011,RB we can’t see u,yo time is up.
I would like to wish Mr. President a quick recovery .
Even the good book says Lord , do not make poor lest I steal and disgrace your name neither make me too rich lest I boast and forget about you. Why make our respected teachers and nurses poor ,if they steal time to generate money elsewhere , who suffers the nation . The young shall rule ,the old have dementia.
The sadistic slant on this site never ceases to amaze me.
Strange that people can even side with the c@€k s¥€ker when people are dying and women giving birth at the station. Only popie the john walker can travel when people are dying.
How ironic it is that health workers are on strike ,meaning health services un available to poor voters and you Nyama soya can afford a simple OP in a foreign land . strange than fiction
Rooftop Barman undertakes yet another controversial trip. This president never ceases to amuse me. Was he in South Africa for the World Economic forum or did he use the summit as an opportunity to go for general panel beating of the knees and bones?
We should not forget that most government resources are fueled by taxpayers’ money. While healthworkers are striking and sending people home to die, Rooftop Barman is ignoring their cries and just hopping around the continent. This transitional president is without a vision and he needs to put his own house in order.
African politicians are greedy and selfish.
one would have expected insults from idi’s party but the are saints
This transitional president has ignored the cries of the striking healthworkers and resorted to go for panel beating of the knees and bones in South Africa. Why use hard earned taxpayers’ money on a knee you could have treated at UTH? Rooftop Barman needs to come down to earth and see for himself, the situation obtaining on the ground. He’s lazy, sleepy and without a vision. A greedy and selfish politician without focus, this Unipian.
insulting the presido is no answer is it ?
we’ll welcome you at the airport.
“We are sending the patients home to die” as quoted on one of the tabloids makes very sad reading. Healthworkers cries are falling on deaf ears. In countries where well-groomed leaders care about the electorate, one of the biggest issues in the campaign is health care. This ungroomed transitional president never ceases to amuse me, he has totally failed to deliver his promises to the people. One can only blame the people themselves for allowing this president to come into office. If any of those healthworkers voted MMD in the last election, my advise to you is to return to work tomorrow.
You have no moral or legal right to abandon your workplace because your president can’t feed you.
Sick and tired of this nonsense.
Define what you mean by by insults ? My flight is on the 18.06
Even the dean of medicine in Zambia Pro Mulla would have done a better job than the guy in south Africa.
Yes Dr Brig General Chituwo is an orthopedic Surgeon.
What nonsenseis this, surely? How many more people are in need of medical attention in Zambia especially after the strike initiated by Government lumpenism? I dopn’t give a danm about RB’s knee, my heart bleeds for the masses. And some of guys are even mentioning 2011 and Rupiah, are you “his kind” in the making? Then Zambia has a rich big nursery of sick future leadership!!
I am not suprised its his knees that are first giving up, he is travelling too much and for an old cow like him, wear and tear is immence. Also, I have never heard of one attending a Global Economic Forum in a South African Clinic. This is how it all started with Levy and as we know, it’s all downhill from here. Watch the MMD push this fool to his grave.
Attending the World Economic Forum in a South African Clinic, its a first. With all his marcopololling, no wonder its the knees giving up first.
Even with Levy, it started with so called minor this minor that, with the big picture being all downhill. Watch the MMD push Bwezani to his grave like they did Levy.
What is the answer # 95? You seem to be very knowledgeable, tell us!!! Your emperor RB is not inspiring as a leader? Even young men of my age like Kabila Joseph of DRC have more refined brains than your Nyama Soya!!!
Ya que’, A quie’n le importa?
And it pains me, especially that I supported him, given opportunity wouldhave voted for him(away from hone). He is a big failure, Nyama Soya!!!
Doctors are on strike let us hear the solutions .
Alah, I hear the minor knee problem was caused by Dora dancing “skokoshi fwemba” on it and it bulked big time! The girl is smart sure.
When Levy had a crainiotomy and treacheotomy they refered to them as minor surgeries. Like everyone else has alreay alluded to it, why not do a minor knee surgery at UTH? This really belittles are physicians back home.
Napoleon never slept I have that similar potentiality being a lozi .
Do you know how many books I ready per given day . Make your surmise .
Behold people of Zambia, the devil incarnate has disguised himself as a limping old man.
Stripper you have a valid point of LPM having treacheostomy.
#107, what do you mean? You mean that they will decap RB’s leg? Gentlemen, even though he is a sinner, top umuchende, he don’t deserve craches. People pray for RB, he has a 54 year old son, 40-somethings daughters and a twenty-some wife, plus his grads who are older than his sons. He need both legs to run around. Afterall he is our top tourist.
Bo nite all .
# 112 what i mean is that you never really know how minor is minor…the idea is meant not to cause alarm and not necessarily that the surgery was minor.
Figalu, you went for a forum on knees. This is a cosmetic surgery. Does anyone remember seeing this so called president with a limp or in need an MRI?
#112, you mean he eats Vuka-Vuka? and the knee trouble is the side effects? Well, what can you do as an old lion with a musimbi by your side. May be he runing away from the duties at home because things are not as they were, pretending to be busy at work. Let him get some hard stuff from sangomas in RSA.
Ku ma kufi ka? ya ya ya once muma bozo then finish soon musana…oh way! Nemo uluse!
Wow….nama shiwi nshikwete
He need a mobile hospital to follow him wherever he goes.
Honestly, nomba aya amano ya ubupuba. RB should lead by example. He should have had the operation at UTH, alas!!, they are on strike.. maybe he feared they would break the knee instead. hahhahh!
Animal farm mentality on promotion…
ok guys lets just face the facts, the man is old and i think he is stressing himself. i though he would learn from our Former Honorable President (may his soul rest in peace).
i agree with most of you guys that say he should come to UTH…. then we will see what happens……
the Next thing we will hear ati he is stable…..then… (God forbid) By By Elections.
I think RB has jet lag. I welcome myself back!!
Maestroe, Jamaco, Maureen, where are you. am back
you are being operated on in RSA whilst our pipon are dying in our hospitals. Enjoy
I wasn’t invited to the African Freedom Day Day on Monday and I regret it very much. Why, there was this claim that the thousands who turned up for the national day fete had been paid to go there
You mrean they couldnt do the operation here? was he afraid they would remove the knee cap here? And cheating that he is attending a forum, kanshi mulwele!!!
Makakama Mbesuma he desvres a bullte in his…. for missing at petsalty
Every operation that a President undergoes us “MINOR”
I meant is “MINOR”
HHHHHHHMMMMM SO THEY DONT WANT TO IPROVE THE INFRA ON uth SO THAT THEY CONTINUE GOING TO RSA? FFFVVVVVVVVVSSSS
#128 bwaya tonga. Good observation. These politicians in the name of MMD are very selfish, they probably knew that he needed the operation and disguised in the forum which any other official would have attended for Zambia. Otherwise a wise govt would not send presido in the srate the country is. Question is are we all expected to send our pipo to RSA becaused RB would rather pay RSA than docs and nurses here
Mubwezeni ku nyumba bwezani. what is he doing in RSA? he would have been operated on ku Ndola central hospital were nurses are on strike. He was suppossed to be on CNN today i think ali namantha yo yanka ma funso. demet the country is under auto pilot again.
I think there was no operation that took place. He’s just looking for sympathy following a horde of conundrums back home. Public sympathy can mean a lot in politics. Remember he went round the country showcasing the body of late LPM? That was the beginning of his campaign, and it paid dividends. Zambia has never fallen short of artists.
And what knee anyway?? Bwezani has got knees kansi??
127 Lady chiza’s legs, I am here. I must agree that President RB Banda must have jet travelling problems due to being in the plane too much following your “I think RB has jet lag“.
Can his doctor tell him the dangers of being in the plane too much to avoid troubles with his blood flow to all parts of the body.
___
Prevention is better than cure.
Its too much of sick people in gov and we end up use money for meat for development for the medical bills.
Red Beans needs to come back home and he needs to come down to earth right now. Running away from the starving healthworkers is not solving anything. You can’t run away forever RB.
I don’t trust Rooftop Barman, neither do I trust state house press Aids, D!cks on Jere. This transitional president from the farm has already failed those poor, starving healthworkers and on another tabloid “some women are delivering babies on the street”.
What kind of evil man fails to let his own children cook for him and would rather go to the neighbours?
Rooftop Barman is not even an athlete. His controversial manouvers are so disgusting, I’d rather see a fly sh!tt!ng than watch him abuse professionally trained healthworkers. He doesn’t even fear what the taxpayers will say.
It is interesting times in Zambian politics. In Zambia, nobody knows what a minor operation means at State house. Any right thinking person would have guessed that at RB’s age, medical complications are not too far away, therefore it was wrong for RB to have gone for the presidency bcoz we all know that the job requires a very fit young person to handle all the stress and demands that come with the ‘material’ gains. The acting President is also not questionable. My opinion is that Zambia is in a mess politically, we have no real leaders to move this young beautiful nation forward. I think that is RB’s exit is due to medical reasons, then future Zambian voters will think once before voting for older politicians.
Lwanya nomba, apapene no mulilo wakwa Levy taulashima. Let the old man take some rest.
Italian Orthopaedic hospital next to state house, that is where this man should have been!
Its old age. The whisky has also contributed. This old man drinks too much also. come back home and participate in the inter-company relay iwee chi RB, this may heal your knee. Mpondela Elias has the medicine there at the show grounds
Does anyone know if the CNN debate Shi Mpundu is supposed to participate in will be televised?and if so,what time?
wiseman-reborn: Please confirm, I am told a knee surgery is an elective procedure, meaning that it is not compulsory or it can wait. But if the Zambian High Commissioner to SA was so upbeat and attached so much significance to the president attending the Global Economic Forum, why didn’t they postpone the knee surgery?
it has come to my attention that the doctors who did the operation on our president have been fired for neglegence.they were supposed to do a brain operation to make him start thinking properly. brothers and sisers we are in a dilema how do we find a solution?
Monalisa, He is scared. Thats why he had to have an operation fast fast!
A commander-in-chief scared of striking nurses?
Minor! Minor? What is a minor operation or a minor stroke? We were once told by ZNBC and some government officials that the late president (RIP) had suffered a minor stroke when infact the man was already dead in Paris, France. Today were are told RB had a minor knee surgery. How minor is that operation that has taken him to SA and not UTH. The man is always on the move hence the knee problem. Can RB get back to work for once and stop these unnecessary foreign trips that are not yielding any economic benefits for Zambia.
‘a minor operation on the knee’
This is nothing other than an ARTHROSCOPY (arthro = joint and scopos = see in greek). This is a is a ‘minimally invasive surgical procedure in which an examination and sometimes treatment of damage of the interior of a joint is performed using an arthroscope, a type of endoscope that is inserted into the joint through a small incision.’ (wikipedia). Knee joint pain is common with age and athleticism. It is not a serious disease. A 4 term American President (FDR) was striken by polio as a child but ruled from a wheel chair.

RB undergoes a minor operation in South Africa – 153 comments
Good news is not news!
Iwe, THE SAINT; ‘Zambia is among the most stable investment destinations in Africa,’ is stale news. How many times have we heard such chorus without any meaningful investment coming through?
God’s children, let us not pretend. We all know that RB has failed the Zambians. He is there like a tourist attending every meeting abroad. He is on holiday. Even the knee was not sick its just that he has the resources, tax payers money. All he needed to do is just tie the pressure bandage and he would have been well. Enough is enough for Zambians.
While back home our people are dying like flies in hospitals, our mothers & sisters are giving birth at bus stations the so called president is mocking us by having a minor operation in South Africa. This shows u what failures the MMD have been. Even their public relations are out of sinc with reality. They will only realise how angry the zambians are when they start throwing stones at them! Its time for a change of the whole rotten grz system, Zambians ar fed up with the trash taking place in their country. Its just a matter of time, wait.
Get well soon but do not stand for elections in 2011. You may need a rest. And by they way, when are we going to stop this crap of using South Africa as a solution? Get a real solution towards improving our health facilities than being lazy and only looking at South Africa for answers. What happens to simple people like me who can not affrod to go to South Africa? We are tired of Garbage and having politicians who are simple minded. Start fixing your health care!!
ok RB!!! why ran away from UTH? Even his knees can’t support his big body . . . too much movements ? kwaliba tamulala munganda . . . Can someone grab RB’s wife . . am sure she is lonely. . . i wish i was a policeman at state house!!!
I wonder how RB is in hospital and at the same time attending a summit. Is he a ghost??? My advise to RB is not to go for 2011 electuions. He will die bcoz of old age and poor health. We dnt want another state funeral. RB is tired!!!!!! Plz RB leave politics and prolong your life.
The man should be impeached
i challenge all my friends who did medicine at unza to convince me that they are well qualified if they have failed to do a minor operation on our President.Or is it that these politicians have no trust in you medics because everyday i hear Chiluba,VJ,and many more have gone for just a check up using voters’ money?
this explains RB’s funny step, sorry about that Mr president I hope you get better soon and consider retiring for your own sake. but mr president i am very agree with you, why? you lied that operation was the reason you went to SA, not the investors, right? you were just too ashamed to announce you subscription to the club of leaders who hav no motivation to improve facilities at UTH because tax payer will always sponser thier SA trips,
oops how snappy, i mean angry with the president couldnt edit that……how embarrassing
winangu will undergo a hair surgery very soon!!! Tizakanvelako… Just wait…
African are the same everywhere, Gabonese were told Omar Bongo was in Spain for minor health reasons and to recover from the trauma of losing his wife. As we know, the ***** packed last week, of AIDS.
Omar Bongo is dead, after going to Spain for a minor health check up. Watch these minor things, they are usually a prelude to something deadly.
EFYO TULANDAPO LYONSE BANE. WHY SHOULD HE GO TO S.A FOR A MINOR OPERATION WHEN THAT CAN BE DONE AT U.T.H. THAT IS WHY THESE GUYS DONT GIVE A F….K ABOUT THE ONGOING STRIKES BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT TREATED WITHIN ZAMBIA. I EVEN DOUBT IF THE INTENTION WAS TO ATTEND THE WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM ON AFRICA OR THIS WAS JUST USED AS AN EXCUSE FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION. REMEMBER LAST YEAR YOU(GOVT) TOLD US THAT LEVY HAD UNDERGONE A MINOR OPERATION AND WAS SUCCESFUL BUT HE CAME BACK IN A CASKET SO BE CAREFUL NAMA MINOR OPS.
This man only went to have his nails cut at the expense of tax payers money. Other wise we should just shift and make another zambia elsewhere
