Government says no one should conduct exploration works at the infamous black mountain in Kitwe until further notice. Minister of Mines Christopher Yaluma says both Nkana Alloy the owners of the mountain and the youth who have been given ten percent shares in the mountain should follow his directive.
Mr. Yaluma says Nkana Alloy is supposed to have a meeting with him to work on modalities how the youth and the community will benefit from the mountain among other things.
He told ZNBC News that he has asked the Minister of Home Affairs to deploy police officers from Kanfisa to man the mountain.
Mr. Yaluma has urged parties not to fight but wait for modalities of operations to be put in place before they can start exploration works.
Jerabos have been screwed.
Why is GRZ putting money in Chinese pockets instead of it’s citizenry?
Instead of Yaluma saying he will be have a meeting with the Chinese company he should have just said, I will be going to collect my brown envelope.
It is amazing the PF government cannot sort out this dump after so many years! No wonder the mining companies are screwing us. The minister has absolutely no clue.
Kikik ati working government. Upto now no plan or vision in place. These guys are in auto pilot mode. Zambia will crash soon.
Give the black mountain to Kitwe City Council so that the wealth can be properly distributed. They monies from the mountain can instead go to the improvement of the Kitwe residents wellbeing than going to individuals and private entities.
I give support to that
He massed up ZESCO now it has taken him to our black mountain.?
When was it legalised?
@ichalo ifupa, glad we have people who think and reason like yourself, your suggestion is the best on this issue of black mountain, i wish lung and his government could think like you on this one.

Black mountain or no black mountain mining continues but in the hands of who and who benefits the more
ZCCM-IH should just take it up. If given to youths, which youths? apart from the usual known Jerabos who just share this money with their families and womanizing. No decent youth has ever benefited from the so called black mountain ask anyone. This thing has brought a lot of thugs on the Copperbelt, lawlessness and crime. A lot of killings associated with black mountain have been reported. The police knows this fact.
ZCCM-IH should just take it up as part of their income generation venture and expand its investment in other mines.
Or better the council as suggested by ichalo lifupa.
