The ruling Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) has adopted Solomon Musonda as its candidate for the August 13th 2009, Chitambo parliamentary by-election.
Party spokesperson Benny Tetamashimba disclosed this development to ZANIS in a press statement in Lusaka today and said Dr. Musonda was a local person who has served in Chitambo constituency as a medical person.
Dr. Musonda was born and educated in the area and later obtained a degree in medicine. He later served the local people as a doctor.
Mr. Tetamashimba said Dr. Musonda was selected among many candidates that applied to be adopted for the election.
He has since appealed to other candidates, who were not picked, to support Dr. Musonda in the by-election.
He has also implored the people of Chitambo to support the MMD party that have adopted a candidate who served the community.
Meanwhile, Mr. Tetamashimba has expressed confidence that the party will defeat the United Party for National Development-Patriotic Front (UPND/PF) pact in the by-election.
He recalled that said it was not the first time that the ruling party would be facing such a challenge.
“We do not think the UPND-PF candidate who will stand on the PF ticket will be difficult to beat,” he added.
The seat fell vacant about two months ago after the death of the area Member Parliament, Nasim Hamir, who was also Deputy Minister of Lands.

Musonda wawa
MMD will vanquish them because their message is all about the monkey incidence now.
PF will carry the day…
Dr Musonda MMD as a party is not going anywhere. We shall see very soon. Alredy chiefs are complaining that development is just done after they hear of election
Politics, BY elections etc, we are tired. Lets give RB a chance to rule. We have a powerful tool to use against him in 2011, Elections. Its a difficult time he statred ruling in, the world melt down, political instability, cases in court from the past admins and also the fact that The late president died so soon, so lets give the man a chance. Fyonse efyo a chita fibi?
No 3 , even if HH or Sata ruled, it would still be the same thing, POLITICS and POLITICKING.
I hope this Dr Musonda is no longer working as a civil servant otherwise he must be disqualified or results nullified if he wins.
solomoni musonda ishina kwati nidoshi
Dr musonda, you have rushed you should have waited for the great prof clive chirwa to give you direction.you friend DR mutesa has taken a bold step and very soon when the prof announces the agenda we will fuse him in.
ba roomie muleba ba MP allo mid term gratuity
On ““We do not think the UPND-PF candidate who will stand on the PF ticket will be difficult to beat,” he added” why are you panicking if you are not feeling the heat from the PACT, Minister Teta. and MMD? I thought that campaigns have not started and you may have others opponents other than the UPND-PF PACT and so why single the PACT only at this stage?
My advice is that just do your stuff as MMD for now ad avoid commenting on the PACT lest you make it more popular.

9 AKAPONDO greetings and hhe hhe hhe hhe on your “Dr musonda, you have rushed you should have waited for the great prof clive chirwa to give you direction.you friend DR mutesa has taken a bold step and very soon when the prof announces the agenda we will fuse him in“.
Continue with your Clive Chirwa (PhD, UK) campaign and all the best. The votes will show you what it means to compete with parties that have been in their place for a long time.
All the very best and happy sabbath (real weekend: Saturday) to you.

Prevention is better than cure.
maestro,
Thank you for wishing me a happy sabbath, but what is it?is it the same like fathers day?or birthday.when the prof comes in goverment we will abolish some of these happy days.there are just too many.
13 AKAPONDO, jus for your information here is what Magande saud as quoted in the POST, “And you can see that movement is already starting with the pact between UPND and the PF. That is a movement and therefore, if we are not being careful we will be made irrelevant.”… Magande said he supported the holding of the convention because he had an obligation to report to the voters who elected him as party chairperson for finance and economic affairs.”
So, are you still hoping on MP N. Magande (MA, UK?) supporting Clive Chirwa (PhD, UK) for Zambian President under the ZED party?
Keep cool on “Thank you for wishing me a happy sabbath, but what is it?…when the prof comes in goverment we will abolish some of these happy days.there are just too many…
maestro, that’s what magande was quoted as saying and what he meant was that if the MMD takes the path of doom teta and mulongoti are leading it to, the people will revolt and vote for the pact.but with the coming of the prof on the political arena with his great vision people will have the real alternative and magande will abandon the sinking ship and come on board.naiwe wine happy sabbath.
15 AKAPONDO thanks for the Sabbath wishes. You used words like will to indicate certainty in your “but with the coming of the prof on the political arena with his great vision people will have the real alternative and magande will abandon the sinking ship and come on board.naiwe wine happy sabbath.”
Firstly, are you a prophet? Secondly, what will happen to your prophecy if Magande continues serving in MMD?
Thirdly, do you have a device to fortell the future?
You know what, Magande is a former UPND person and following what someone said “muunda wakudala siuvuta kulima (a previously owned field is not difficult to plough)” and the fact that the PACT is dynamic (“movement”), don’t you think Magande can get back to UPND?

17 AKAPONDO, I honestly like your zeal, but this is why I give you constructive advice and hard questions to bring you to reality. Clive Chirwa (PhD, UK) is a good man in his field of study, but it will take him 10 years to build a strong political party in which the party constitution might bar him from standing for Zambian President lest he behaves like MMD in 2000/1 that changed its constitution to elect Chiluba FTJ (Hon Doc, Malawi) for a third term of office as MMD president.
It is against this background that I very much doubt Clive Chirwa (PhD,UK)’s analytical skills of political science. If the brother is clever, I urge him to join the UPND-PF PACT and seek a position of councillor in 2011, in 2016 MP and later in 2021 try the presidential candidate, by God’s grace.
18 cont’d.
Ignoring this good advice will be suicidal to his political ambition of serving Zambians as President.
The current movement is bent on rewarding those who have sought to remove the MMD GRZ for a long time now. This is why PF self-appointed leader MC Sata (Sub B/Standard 4) almost won the 2008 presidential elections. I write so because I spoke to some Kaponyas/ng’wang’wazis (Street sellers/bus call boys) in August 2008 who assured me that the only reason they were going to vote for Sata (Grade 2/6) to be Zambian President is that it is time for him to eat GRZ money also — after his hard work in fighting for their plight. Such is the mentality our voters have currently and president HH is now appealing to them through UPND-PF PACT.
All the best…
MMD 1991 to 2011, the vultures will shift as usual
maestro,
My zeal is unflapable.and no question you have ever brougth forth to me has ever caught me napping.and i know that you know that you have always got straight answers from me.so if HH has noticed that he can’t scoop the presidency of zambia and has opted to become a PF cadre hoping that sata will notice his vulgar language and perceived hardwork and reward hi with a post in their illusional goverment then good luck to him.otherwise the prof can’t sink so low.moreover he has nothing to learn from mediocre politics like the ones obtaining in zambia today.mind you the prof even offers advice to the american politians on how to better the lives of it’s people.so where does that put zambia to him?
21 AKAPONDO you are lying on your “and i know that you know that you have always got straight answers from me. Spare me on that one!
As for “so if HH has noticed that he can’t scoop the presidency of zambia and has opted to become a PF cadre hoping that sata will notice his vulgar language and perceived hardwork and reward hi with a post in their illusional goverment then good luck to him“, I am happy you put an if in your “so if HH noticed …” for you appear blind about the reallity that it is PF slefappointed leader Sata (Grade 2/6) who approached president HH for a PACT and not vice versa. Your deficiency of this knowledge shows the whole world on Internet that you are ill-informed.

21 AKAPONDO , on your “sotherwise the prof can’t sink so low.moreover he has nothing to learn from mediocre politics like the ones obtaining in zambia today.” This your and hopefully not Clive Chirwa (PhD, UK)’s mentality is very bad and un-Godly. How can you demean God’s creation like this? You are a strange fellow my fellow Citizen.
On “moreover he has nothing to learn from mediocre politics like the ones obtaining in zambia today“, this is another terrible statement. In this life us as human beings learn from everyone else and some of us take from others only good things and leave out the bad ones. As if that was not enough, what is Clive Chirwa (PhD, UK) seeking for from Zambia of he is that high? Such wont win him a thing.

Prevention is better
21 AKAPONDO , on your “mind you the prof even offers advice to the american politians on how to better the lives of it’s people” Firstly, it is not “it’s” but their ‘… people’. What is your level of education anyway?
On “mind you the prof even offers advice to the american politians on how to better the lives of it’s people.so where does that put zambia to him?
“, then let him go elsewhere! This is because he is wasting his time to consider Zambia and Zambian politics.
I am looking forward to reading from you on the above points.

As the Sun sets, I am officially off on a sabbath day recess. I will link up with some of you later, by God’s grace, but take careful care always.
Bye for now.

Ba Maestro,
you have now turned into an english teacher.mwana if you come to zambia and start bragging about how educated you are tukakukuseka.i know you are in some remote country in europe where you are on the run for fear of the skin heads.i havent attained much in terms of education mwana and i dont regreat because i have made amends in life and though i believe that education is a key to good life, failing to attain it does not draw curtains on you to earn a good life.you just have to believe in yourself and in the things that you do and you cant go wrong.in short whilst you are holed up in that cold jungle you brag of. i easily tour the world and that’s what every young ambitious zambian in zambia is enjoying today.so come with your degree and your inflated ego you will be…
you will be embarrased and disappointed.after all maybe you will just get a job in mufumbwe district council.on that sentence i meant to say america and it’s people.and by the way the prof has made up his mind he is coming right here in zambia to serve the people.we are tired of political cons.infact he’ll be generous to offer HH the post of auditor general so that he can prove to us that mathematics he told the nation in livingstone on how much has been stolen in goverment.just a piece of advise when you come back to zambia dont boast too much about your degree and that you are from europe or else you will be boasting in front of kapoko.easy looking but filthy rich and he’ll buy you off together with your family. Now am also taking a break it’s time to concetrate on the counter.it’s…
Musonda is a medical doctor. We need more doctors in our hospitals, but MMD is removing them in order to place them in politics, when is MMD going to make sense?
If MMD wins these by-elections then I will have no doubts ati pa Zed twalitipwa.Sleep well mwebalele.
# 28 Matworld, niwebo uwatipwa us we are blessed hence seeing the rubbish in the joint Presidency of Haka-Sata circus. What legion of life time losers swimming in false hopes!Haka-Sata joint president means two Presidents in plot one sharing, two cabinet ministers in each ministry meaning we could be talking of almost 60 mininisters,
ITS VERY SAD THAT MOST ZAMBIANS ARE JUST LOOKING AT RB,SATA AND HH.THE IISUE IS THAT MMD WILL NOT TAKE THE COUNTRY ANYWHERE.WHEN MMD CAME TO POWER WE HAD MANSA BATTERIES,DUNLOP,MAROUNOCHI,LANDROVER,ITT SUPERSONIC,FIAT,PEUGOT AND MANY OTHERS.THESE PEOPLE HAVE TAKEN US BACKWARDS.I WILL BE SO STUPID NOT TO TRY SOME ONE ELSE.ONLY A FOOL WILL SAY ANOTHER POLITICAL PARTY COMING TO POWER IS THE SAME THING AS HAVING MMD IN POWER!!!!
#6. It wont be the same thing. 1 RB had no ambitions to be president-he was just used by Levy to defeat UNIP in the eastern province. 2 Politically, RB has never achieved anything apart from corruption. 3 RB was detatched from current political/economical evolutions for a long time to really be capable of morden days political and economical business. 4 KK and UNIP were serious dictators and he’s coming from such a background. 5 UNIP massively misused and abused pipos’ money in the name of one party state. Sata and the other guyz will make a huge difference.
PETER,
Whilst i agree with you on RB’s failures i totally disagree with you that RB can be more of a dictator than SATA.it is the problem that has come to be with all you people who prop up this man.you have come to cleanse him up like the man is not brutal.you all like the mini bus drivers, call boys mishanga, street vendors and that class who see salvation in this man in a short time have forgotten what pain this man can inflict pain on people with views different to his.give him state house and see weather you can uproot this man.you saw a tip of his behaviour when he was heading for victory over levy in 2006.the guy had already scores to settle with people at cabinet office.bullied every one. To be contd
SATA is the same and will always be the same.even the POST knows him.they are proping him up today because they are at war with RB.if it was magande in power today SATA would have been on the receiving end.even if he was to bcome president today friendship between the post and sata will come to an end because the post will expose his greed and brutallity and they wont tolerate it.and you sleeping zambians that’s why you are always a country of regrets when it comes to choose leadership.you have seen the kind of people putting their millions in sata.the kind of GBM is it the kind of leadership you are looking up to.willie nsanda geoffrey chuumbwe, paul moonga.are you a serious people aspiring for quality leadership.you must be jokers.sata’s goverment can be worse than chiluba’s.
what is susprising me most is how even the educated ones in zambia can have hope in sata despite seing people he has in his ranks as probable leaders.honestly are people like GBM the ones we can look up to as our messiahs. We must have deficiencies in our thinking capacities.meaningful change has to come to zambia not change for the sake of it as it was in 1991.indeed people like prof chirwa have to come and take the politics of this country to an upper level
nafuti nafuti MMD wawa….
hhehhehhehhe!!! been gone for too long. just woken up to find Maestro has been baptized as Habupampu
Halo people, mwebalenwa na mwebaleyakana insansa muma lodge nama room yapusanasana mwalileni mwilasakamana ichalo chalalondoloka pa 2011. Impalume, impalianda ba kanyekanye wa buyantanshi ba prof clive chirwa balebwela mukwisa yafwa ichalo chabo.abati banaka ukwafwa abalungwana.
26 AKAPONDO, On “Ba Maestro, you have now turned into an english teacher“, this is why I am MAESTRO for I am a teacher.
On “mwana if you come to zambia and start bragging about how educated you are tukakukuseka“, I do not brag my fellow Citizen I only educate characters who need to know the truth.
Since I am a teacher, your “on that sentence i meant to say america and it’s people” in 27 is equally wrong. The correct way is on that sentence i meant to say america and HER people.
As for “and by the way the prof has made up his mind he is coming right here in zambia to serve the people.we are tired of political cons“, good you have become sober after my lessons, and he is welcome in Zed.
