Zesco United on Friday warmed up for their 2017 CAF Confederation Cup Group C trip to Sudan with a 1-0 away win over City of Lusaka.
The victory at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka in this FA Super division week 7 match sent Zesco from 3rd to 1st on the log.
Zesco displaced Lumwana Radiants from the summit only on goal difference after joining them on 14 points.
Jesse Were scored the game’s lone goal in the 77th minute.
It was Kenya striker’s third league goal of the 2017 season and also his second in a roll after finding the target in last Saturday’s 1-0 win over Egyptian club Smouha in Ndola in a Confederation Cup Group C opener
Meanwhile, City stay put in 13th place after suffering their second successive league defeat following last Sunday’s 1-0 away loss at Nkana in Kitwe.
And Lumwana could return to top spot on Saturday if they beat visiting Nchanga Rangers.
