Zambia Centre for Inter Party Dialogue, ZCID, board member Langton Sichone has commended the Patriotic Front, PF, for declaring that it will participate in the National Constitutional Conference, NCC after all.
Mr Sichone told ZANIS in Kafue that the decision by the PF is a manifestation of
maturity in dealing with the all important issue of constitution making in Zambia.
He stated that it is important to appreciate the fact the NCC has been accepted by
the majority of Zambians and its outcome will be welcomed by all stakeholders.
Mr Sichone said now is the time for all stakeholders to march together in writing a
constitution that will be nationally acceptable and stand the test of time.
Mr Sichone also noted that government has shown political goodwill and that the
church should now start praying for the success of the constitutional process.
He advised church to be wary of some sections of society who want to use them to
oppose government for selfish interest.
Mr Sichone appealed to the all the stakeholders participating in NCC to develop a
culture of nationalism and patriotism by not joining the NCC with ill motives in
order to frustrate the process.
Mr Sichone, dont jump to the gun, you have to wait for Sata to come from the US for you to know PFs real position. You should know by now that he is the decider in PF…..the rest just have to agree with him.

Police smash copper racket
Police in the Copperbelt town of Ndola have recovered copper worth over K1.5 billion kwacha from a Chinese company.
The copper is suspected to have been stolen from four major mining companies.
The recovery, one of the biggest has so far hauled 24 tonnes of copper cathodes and anodes and 100 tones of copper concentrate at the old vita form building in the industrial area.
A check by ZNBC, found excavators from Bwana Mkubwa and Mopani copper mines unearthing the copper buried in the premises.
Other items recovered include ZAMTEL cables which were found in the premises.
Copperbelt Police Chief, Anthoneil Mutentwa told ZNBC that preliminary investigations indicate that the copper is from Kansanshi, Mopani, Konkola Copper Mines KCM and Bwana Mkubwa.
Mr. Mutentwa said the premises were sealed off, after police received a tip from a member of the public over the illegal dealings at the place.
He said more details on the matter will be given by the Inspector General of police.
Mr. Mutentwa said three Chinese nationals have been picked up, to help with investigations.
He said police will consult the immigration department to establish the status of the Chinese nationals.

I know you are excited about NCC allowances. That is real selfishness. Let the church motherbodies/NGOCC do what the know best;standing for the poor & voiceless; practising the teaching of Christ in our daily lives. They are the salt of the earth. They are not driven by pervasive & endemic “poverty budgets” that people like you have already started making for the NCC allowances. TEKA UMUTIMA. You may chew NCC allowances be but U will still remain with a bad constitution & in poverty
