Nkana- Zanaco showdown looms in Wusakile

Nkana on Wednesday host Zanaco in a delayed Week 7 match of the FAZ Super Division with the hope of ending a two-match winless run.

Kalampa appear frustrated as they host Zanaco at Nkana Stadium in Wusakile after picking one point from their last two matches.

Coach Beston Chambeshi’s men were last Sunday held to a frustrating 2-2 draw at lowly placed Kabwe Youth Academy – a week after succumbing to a 2-1 home loss to leader Green Buffaloes.

On the other hand, Zanaco are coming from a 1-0 win away at New Monze Swallows.

Nkana and Zanaco are placed 6th and 7th on the table respectively with 20 points apiece but the Kitwe side have a superior goal difference.

Last season, Nkana thumped Zanaco 4-0 in Wusakile before the two teams settled for a goalless draw in the reverse fixture played in Lusaka.

Meanwhile, champions Zesco United tackle New Monze Swallows in the other delayed midweek fixture away in Monze.

Zesco are smarting from Sunday’s 2-1 loss to leaders Buffaloes in Lusaka.

Zesco sits on 22 points, five points behind Buffaloes, after playing 10 matches.

  1. Soccer fans should anticipate unpredictable formations and line ups from both teams. Interesting to note that no player from either side had been in starting line up in all the fixtures so far
