Who Is Telling The Truth?

Share

Faz and Patrick Phiri are giving conflicting statements over who dropped Elijah Tana as both parties deny who made the call.

Patrick Phiri has denied Tana has been dropped while Faz have deflected the statement stating that the coach cut the veteran defender from the team.

Tana’s name, initially on the official website this morning was struck off the list by mid-morning.

The defender from Sudan club el Merriekh was dropped together with Zambia Under-23 left-back Davies Nkausu barely 24 hours after joining the team in Morocco on Friday.

The final leg of Zambia’s build-up for the Ghana Africa cup finals doesn’t end there.

Faz has also asked the Tunisia Football Federation to help secure the release of striker Felix Sunzu whose call-up clashed with his departure for trials at Tunisian club Avenir de La Marsa.

Sunzu is a late replacement for striker Collins Mbesuma of Bursaspor in Turkey who was dropped from the team due to poor competitive fitness.

Meanwhile, Morocco face Zambia this afternoon in Fez in a friendly international with kickoff scheduled for 16:30.

Zambia depart for Ghana tomorrow.

  1. Game update 2-0 to Morocco. I think it was a mistake at the back involving Mweene (sorry the webstream isn’t clear)

  2. It is Top Tv, I can’t type the address because the message doesn’t appear. Just search top tv and then look for Arriyadia TV or search Arriyadia TV

  3. Okay I think the match is finished and we lost 2-0. The webstream was really poor and nearing the end it cut. Well, that wasn’t the best to be honest. Our defending is terrible, sorry to single a player out but Joseph Musonda is a liability. His decision making is poor, positioning poor, tackling poor, pace poor; to be honest he isn’t much of a footballer on this showing. Whenever we are attacked down the flanks we look like we are in trouble, partly down to the system we played 4-3-3 but

  4. cont. also because our full-backs aren’t so good. Offensively we look pretty decent and on occasion caused them some worry, especially when Isaac and Chris came on. I know that this post sounds pessamistic, but if we go to score goals and not just defend I think we could do alright. Sitting back and waiting on counter-attacks will see us ship a lot of goals.

  5. Thanks man for this update. Quiet honestly, I am disgusted with the news that Tana was droped for un explained reasons and yet we are having the same problems in defence that Tana could have effectively covered. Are our coaches and administrators serious?

  6. Morocco beat Zambia 2-0 in Fes on Saturday as both teams continue their preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana. The Atlas Lions opened the scoring in the 56th minute through Tarek Sektioui, who converted from the penalty spot.Sofiane Alloudi completed the scoring nine minutes later after he made the most of a mix up in the Zambia defence.Morocco begin their Nations Cup campaign on 21 January against Namibia followed by Group A games with Guinea and hosts Ghana.THE BBC

  7. True Zambia at its best, no good defenders, no reliable scorers and meanwhile, Sudan, Cameroun and Egypt are waiting for us. We are in trouble, it goes away!

  8. FIRE PP… THE WORST IS YET TO COME. NAKULA UMUTWE. THE GUY DOESN’T KNOW THAT WE BEAT SOUTH AFRICA 3:0 OUT OF PLAYER’S COMMITMENT. HE HAD NO SYSTEM AT ALL. HOW DO YOU FEEL GOOD THAT WE BEAT TUNISIA 2:1 AFTER THEY HIT THE CROSS BAR 3 TIMES AND 1 GOAL.

  9. Thats why we will get thumped.Mulonga was choosing the team, our coach PP is very dull & things havnt gone well in camp.

We are bombing out in the 1st round.

  10. Nonsense! These people drop a player and no one is couragious enough to say who did it and why he/they did it? Is somebody afraid he’s made a bad decison? The one who has dropped Tana should claim responsibility for the decision. And why did they have to let him travel all the way to Morrocco? Why didn’t they drop while he was still here in Zambia? What a waste of money and time. These people amaze me. Anyway, eventually the truth will come out. Nonsense!

  11. Zambia has the potential to go far in this tournament but with this nonsence, we can only keep our fingers crossed. Somebody will be in trouble should a poor performance be exhibited.

  12. No Tana!!!This is really amazing.Where has Patrick got the courage to do such a thing. This defense we have is the worst ever!!Hachilesa & Joseph should have dropped a long time ago!Patrick chipuba sana sana!Dropping of players has come out like it is part of the preparations for CAN 2008.Shame on you Koswe Patrick & FAZ.
A team without quality and class will never take us anywhere even with this proper and adquate preparations.Let us start looking for a new expatriate coach for next qualifiers.

  13. We understand discipline is cardinal in football and Tana maybe have had no proper reason for missing the initila flight, but at times you need to be honnest with yourselves and swallow the pride and do with pipo who can make a difference.
Besides, it was the first time such a thing had happened to Tana so he should ave been given the benefit of the doubt.
And by yhe way, wgy did FAZ even waste money sending him to Morocco only for him to go and be dropped. Why not do it in Zambia?

  14. Mulonga should refund all travelling expenses incured by Tana and David Nkausu from his own pocket. Tax payers’ money is just flushed in the toilet like that. Kwena pa Zed tulifipuba sana. We let people misuse and mismanaged state funds and keep quite. No wonder we have perpetual plunderers. We should wake up otherwise we will continue wallowing in stinking poverty.

  15. I suspect these guys omitted Tana’s name by mistake and the cant’ admit their error.Thats my take why register a list short of one player? After all the expenses in Ghana are to be paid for by the host.

  16. mulonga thinks he is indispensable himself by inciting pp to drop tana but he must wait and see coz i will cast the vote for kalu to be president,we may actually need someone as an administrator who has atleast played recent professional soccer rather than those who have learned and watched soccer from TV(MULONGA).HE needs to book out. he is corrupt

  17. One of your politicians son is trying to expose players he is managing. This players are no better than Tana.Tana has been one of dedicated players. He is owed by FAZ in airfares and we have not heard him complain. This nonsense of putting your business interest first should stop.

  18. Anyway the exclusion of Tana by Ted Mulonga is a digrace. Tana was captain of Zambia at one time, but all of a sudden he was demoted to nothing. I think Zed soccer needs people who really care and think of ama fans. Bushe are we going to wait for excuses futi. We have had teams in the past who have managed to be 2,3, 4 best and that is not a joke, nomba because of Mulonga FAZ is rotten, out with Mulonga pantu na ine nomba nanaka nankwe mwe, takwaba fye, bushe ninshi kanshi awe nomba nakana mwe.

  19. Mulonga is a rotten rat. If ever we loose the africa cup, we will teach him a lesson. Who does he think he is? bullying Phiri is not a good solution. Tana has helped zambia excel. FIRE MULONGA. He is not a team player.
