Fine slapped on Collins Mbesuma should serve as a lesson to all players-FAZ

Share

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Communications officer Erick Mwanza says the fine slapped on National Soccer Team striker Collins Mbesuma by his South African club, Moroka Swallows F.C should serve as a lesson to all football players in the country.

Mwanza told ZANIS sports in an interview in Lusaka today that all the players in Zambia should disciplined and dedicated to their teams at local and international club levels.

He pointed out that all clubs have their own set of rules that players need to adhere to, adding that discipline is important both on and off the pitch.[quote]

The FAZ communications manager however said that despite the fine on him, Mbesuma has been showing signs of improvement in terms of his performance.

Mwanza said the fine is a positive reflection that the club he plays for still loves him and would want the best out of him.

Moroka Swallows F.C slapped R20 000 fine on Mbesuma after finding him guilty of misconduct during Absa premiership match against Bidvest Wits’ earlier this season.

Mbesuma’s charges of misconduct in an incident in which he kicked wits’ goalkeeper Francis Chansa in the face during the match.

  1. Apparently Mbesuma is now 37 years old. That is why his skills have deteriorated so badly. So he has only -10 ( minus ten) years of real football life left in him. That is why he is so frustrated.

  2. Naiwe Mbesuma instead of scoring goals in the goal post you want to be kicking faces of goalkeepers, why? Please dont take too much Shakeshake when you are going for games thats why you end up seeing the face of the goalkeeper thinking its a ball.

  3. When Collins was recruited in SA the CEO of the club was asked why he recruited a person who could not speak English. His Answer was: I DID NOT GO TO RECRUIT AN ENGLISH SPEAKER, I WENT TO RECRUIT A SOCCER PLAYER AND THAT’S WHAT I HAVE DONE.

  4. This son of FKajiya is a problem, he exhibits same behaviour like his father during his hey days with GBFC. Those who were around would attest to this. Any way strikers are always short tempered in some instances.

  5. Sports interviewer: Mbesuma, how do you keep fit?

Mbesuma: I run away every morning. (He meant to say; I go jogging every morning).

  6. He kicked a fellow zambian am told ati baipingile ku zambia after one of the two failed to buy the other beer.So mbesuma said in bemba “tukakumona ku sasasa boyi”

  7. A man goes into a library and asks for a book on suicide. The librarian takes one good look at him and says:”Fuseki Ch.i.k.a.l.a!!!” Who’s gonna bring it back?

  8. Is this the guy who came here to the UK?

A footballing life is short. Without discpline you cant make a fortune out of your talent. Disciplined African players are making very good money here in the UK. I wish Mbesuma had made it. It could also have opened doors for other Zambian players to come a mint money here. Imagine getting £170,000 per week. Even £50,000 per week in some lower rank team is very good. This is what our Zambian players are missing out.

Please bring us some Zambian players.

  9. POINT OF CORRECTION TO BLOGGERS:

Francis Chansa is not a Zambian. He is a Congolese from DRC. The alleged kick in the face of Chansa was not intentional. I still feel the fine is too harsh.

Secondly Collins was not fined by the club but the PSL Disciplinary Committee.
He was Further “He was also ordered to pay the cost of the DC sitting amounting to R42 000,” said Kazi.
