Zanaco this afternoon won their first competitive match in two-and-a-half months after beating Roan United 2-1 in the two sides Week 23 replayed match at Railway Grounds in Kabwe.
This match was replayed after the earlier game was abandoned on September 26 in the 73rd minute after a match official was hit and wounded by an object thrown by unknown people from the stands at Kafubu Stadium in Luanshya.
The scores in that match were at 0-0 before the match was abandoned.
Two goals from Makundika Sakala today settle the game to hand Zanaco their first league win since beating Choma Eagles 1-0 away on August 15.
Zanaco have gone on to draw their subsquent five games and losing another two.
Zanaco are now just three points behind leaders Zesco who lost 1-0 today in their rescheduled Week 22 match at home against Choma in Ndola.
Choma secured their victory through an 8th minute goal scored by Katongo Chansa.
