Dr. Mtonga was speaking during a sensitization meeting for the Zambia Integrated Agriculture Management Information System (ZIAMIS) in Mpongwe district.

He said it was the responsibility of every government official to ensure that the programme was implemented in the most transparent and accountable manner.

Meanwhile, Dr Mtonga disclosed that Mpongwe has been put on the direct input redeeming system and the district will in the next few days receive inputs for the 2018/2019 farming season.

Dr. Mtonga said the District Agriculture Coordinator (DAO) has since been directed to issue farmers with authority to make deposits for their inputs.

Meanwhile, Government says over 100,000 farmers on the Copperbelt Province will benefit from the Farmer Input Support Programme(FISP) during the 2018/2019 farming season under the Zambia Integrated Agriculture Management Information System.

ZANIS reports that Dr. Mtonga said this when he paid a courtesy call on Copperbelt Province Permanent Secretary Bright Nundwe in Ndola.

The Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet, who is touring Luanshya, Masaiti and Mpongwe districts said government has procured fertilizer and has already dispersed it to the designated shades under direct redeeming system.
